im in pre-camp now which is only 6 hours a day (compared to away band camp which is 12-14 hours a day XD) I recommend athletic shorts, light colored clothes, LOTS of water, good tennis shoes, sunscreen (if ur outside) and also bugspray if your outside. Hmmmm OH! Also a hat and sunglasses if ur gonna be outside for a long time. Those help TONS!

~Hat and sunglasses, definitely. Make sure that the hat is comfortable and functional. Don't worry about how it looks - it's band camp, who cares?
~Comfortable shorts. Don't wear shorts that you wouldn't want to get dirty, since you'll probably get sweat and possibly dirt and dust on them. Make sure they're also comfortable to sit in.
~Light colored, lightweight shirts. How they look doesn't really matter, like the hat.
~Drink lots and lots of water! Keep it cold and don't leave it in the sunlight if you can help it. It'll make the plastic hot and it could melt the ice if you have any. 1/2 gallon jugs work the best. It's also unwise to depend on the school to provide you with water. If you bring your own, you can have as much as you want.
~Don't eat heavy meals. The heat plus all of the moving you'll be doing could potentially get you sick. In my band, when we have to learn pregame (which involves ALOT of running and fast-paced high marching), we warn the freshmen to eat a light lunch that day. You won't throw up, but you certainly won't feel good doing your drill.
~Comfortable shoes. Running and walking shoes work the best. Though, when I first started camp, I used to march in skateboarding shoes, but it's not a good idea. Arch support and impact absorption = good, and you'll be ALOT more comfortable for much longer.

Yes. I agree with... everyone here. xD

No milk, FOR SURE. It'll cook and ferment in your stomach and the hot sun... notgood.
pukingisnotagoodthing. no.

Eat breakfast, fer sure, if you can't handle eating much that early then bring something for during/after practice, along with your gallon of water.
BEWARE that if you bring gatorade or something then people will want to mooch off you. xD

also, don't complain about the heat, how tired you are, etc; everyone else is feeling the same way and it doesn't help at all. If you feel like you're about to throw up or faint though, be sure and let someone know so you can sit down for a while. Know your limits. 3nodding
