A dark brow lofted as Kinsey sunk into her chair. "Not many people can be a waitress," Alex smiled a bit, "it can be a thankless job, and like you said - the creeps. I couldn't do it. I'd deck someone before my shift was out." She grinned a bit at that, not even able to imagine herself in such a position. No doubt coffee would find patron's laps more than their mouths were she in that job field.
"Oh," she commented on the siblings, dipping her finger in the hot cocoa again and holding it out to Lorenzo. "I only have one brother, and he's such a pain. Very straight-laced and boring, he can be a handfu--OW! Zoe!" Alex glowered at the Gwee, whose tiny teeth were imbedded in her pinky. "Ugh. My brother is visiting me and Zoe has taken quite a shine to him. A perfect demonstration of how Zoe reacts to my tone of voice, with my sarcasm directed at my sibling." She smiled wryly, shaking the small dragonette who was giving her a sour look. "Cool it Zoe, or I'm eating the rest of the eclair."
As the tiny dragon released her extended digit, she took a sip of the hot cocoa herself, observing her finger. No skin was broken, it was just a warning bite, but it did amuse her. "College is a fickle thing," she replied to the previous comment. "I was in college for a several years for something I decided against, before switching." She turned her bright eyes to Kinsey, smiling again. "No harm in making sure. We only get one shot at this game called life, we should make the best of it."

Kinsey winced a little. "I, ah, spilled some hot soup on one of the customers once. I promise, it wasn't the food he was looking to buy. But they told me if I ever did that again, I'd be fired." She chuckled weakly. "After always getting my way, being the oldest it's easy to boss around younger siblings, you know?, it was...a hard change. But smiling and nodding isn't as hard as it sounds." At least the creeps usually tipped well. That was one of the only things that kept the youth going.
The girl started when Zoe seemed to 'reprimand' his, uh, partner, blinking at the little exchange. Those Gwee really were intense, weren't they? "Yeah, college is just a-"
Mrrrrr. Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Why was her cell phone ringing? Vibrating. Whatever. No one ever called-
"Oh s**t!" Kinsey cursed, hardly aware she was with company. "I was supposed to meet my mother for lunch. Aw, s**t, s**t s**t." Kinsey might be the top dog when it came to the siblings, but her mother ruled her household and that was that. No one crossed Dalal and got away with it. "I gotta go. I'm really sorry about running out like this." Kinsey scrambled to her feet, shoving the rest of her scone to Zoe as she grabbed her coffee. "Thanks for everything, I'll talk to you later, bye!"
All that out in one breath, Kinsey made a frenzied dash for the door.
