Plesiosaurus is a large (about 3 to 5 meters long), marine sauropterygian reptile that lived during the early part of the Jurassic Period. It is distinguished by its small head, long and slender neck, broad turtle like body, a short tail, and two pairs of large, elongated paddles.
Because these animals require a stable marine environment to survive, their care requirements are much more demanding than most of the other dinosaurs here at the Cretaceous Corral. Their diet is also very specialized, requiring large portions of fish on a weekly basis.
While they are not considered highly dangerous to humans, they can still deliver a nasty blow to anyone who gets within range of their jaws; Capable of opening the length of its entire head, and lined with razor-sharp teeth, an angered Plesiosaur can do a lot of damage.
Fortunately, though, these mysterious creatures are actually quite shy, preferring to flee rather than to fight. They can, however, be very protective and will defend their small family groupings ('pods') vigorously.
