Shimofuri smiled widely at Nefir as he jumped off her back, and flopped to the ground, diamond in hand. She laughed happily as she lay there for a while before closing her eyes and sighing with a wide grin. "Yeah, it was"

Nefir held up his diamond and admired how the sun shone through it and turned it into rainbowed light. He probably would be doing the same thing with the diamond when he brought it back home; just take it out and admire it. It wasn't as though he was going to cut it up and make jewelry out of it or anything. And he was fairly certain that there would be precious little on the island of Namiah that could be traded for it.
"Well, I guess we should.....get out of here. It's still kinda cold." He looked about, trying to guess which direction would lead them home.

Shimofuri looked up at the mountain and nodded. "Yeah, let's go home... But first..." she leaned down and gave Nefir a small kiss before smiling. "A reward for he who defeated the ice ifrit!" She turned to look at the many paths that could take them home, before choosing one on the left, and then began to walk on it.

Nefir's eyes seemed as though they would bug right out of his head as Shimofuri kissed him, then he felt a flush creeping right up into his face and giving him the sensation of becoming a hot coal that was melting through the snow and leaving a hole. He couldn't contain a goofy smile, and he sat there for what must have been a full minute before he realized that Shimofuri had found a path and was heading down it. Blinking, he scooped up his diamond and followed her, hoping that she hadn't seen him standing there in the snow like a basket case after complaining about being cold.

Shimofuri glanced back as she walked away at the motionless Nefir, laughing to herself before she saw him start to catch up. She turned her attention back foreward so he wouldn't feel as embarrased and gave him a small head-ruffle when he caught up. "Wasn't today great?"

Nefir smiled another silly smile as he allowed his head to be ruffled. "Yeah, it was pretty neat. I still can't believe we brought down an ice ifrit. You think anyone will believe us?" He looked back at the mountain one last time, envisioning all of the diamonds they had left behind. Maybe someday they could come back for more of them. Or all of them.

Shimofuri shrugged and grinned widely. "I doubt it, I know I wouldn't, but hopefully there are a few who will beleive us. That would be nice. And of course, this and our little sand adventure will make great bedtime stories if we even have children, don't you think?"

Nefir had been twirling his diamond around in his paws, trying to see how many ways he could see out of it, but as Shimofuri mentioned children, he started so much that he almost dropped the diamond. "C-children?" Deep down, he was still trying to come to terms with the fact that anyone even wanted to be with him, and now it seemed like she wanted to BE with him.
"You mean you.....you want to.....with me?" He still remembered the 'if we ever' part, but her just considering it made his head whirl.
((You think their liddle'uns aren't too old for bedtime stories? whee That'd be so cute.))

Shimofuri nodded. "Yeah, children. I wouldn't mind having a few someday." She glanced back and could tell that the idea of them seemed to unnerve Nefir, so she thought it might be better to talk about this some other day. "Well sure, maybe someday, but definatly not right now or before we're ready." She hoped that would calm him.

Blushing furiously, Nefir stammered as he saw Shimofuri glancing back at him. "N-not that I wouldn't want to....with you. I just.....I want to be ready for it. So I can at least be a good one, you know?" Smiling to assure his friend that he was not as nervous as he appeared, he happily trotted behind her, quite ready for another adventure. Or perhaps a good long gloat over his diamond.
