I need a few oppinions on the best way to make alot of gold within the first year. I also wish to know when is the best time to abduct...er.. I mean woo a potential husband.

With gold, go dig in the Sig site, save the jewelry for the day that Van is in the Valley and sell it all to him. He pays over the shipping price.
You can woo a husband at any time, I usually do it while I'm rescuing the required Harvest Sprites since that takes me about two years.
And I am a Skye fan. <3 What can I say, cheesy romance makes me turn into fangoo instead of a fangirl.

On days that end in 3 and 8. Wait until past 10am then go into the Inner Inn. Up on the second floor, all the way back, you'll find Van behind a crate.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm having trouble getting the fishing rod. I know that I'm supposed to get it from the old couple but I don't know when I should go over to their place.

To get the fishing rod, go to Galen and Nina's on Saturday between... 12 and 2 pm. :3 (*had to check*) Don't have any of your tools equipped or you won't get it!

For gold I would also do the mines- jewelry sells more than minerals ((gold, silver, copper)) so I suggest looking for jewlery.
As for a guy they're all cool. I like Cliff and Gray from mineral town- but from my experience they're pretty hard.
I'm gonna sound really weird when I say this but for Forget-me-not valley I really Rock. His cut scenes are so hilarious- his stupidity is more funny than weird. Though I haven't married him yet on DS I married him on Gamecube and after marrige his IQ goes up a bit xD
