I saw a band last year that had a violin and a keyboard in the pit.
It was cool, but...they weren't all that good.
Not saying your band sucks, I love violins. They just werne't that good. sweatdrop

Definitely not in my band. I can't really imagine it would be all that beneficial for anything other than "Oh wow, look, a violin!" unless it was mic'd.

LD Bell's 07 show at BOA Grand Nationals had a girl out on field singing with a microphone, that's something on the more unusual side.
Their videos are on YouTube, they took 1st with that show, it's actually quite something.

Some group, I believe it was PCEP, in 06, had violins hooked up to mics for part of the show.
They didn't march, but they went on before our group, so I'm not sure what they did for the whole show exactly.

i remember the girl singing from LD bell looked funny with her sparkly head piece...
but about three years ago a marching band from around Indy had to small of a marching band to compete so they decided to put a full string section in the corner of the field......seriously no joke they had almost everything and the strings numbered in the 20's and they had this funky platform to stand on and chairs...... but you couldnt hear them....

My band last year did a show called "Angels Among Us" and it featured many spectacular solos, one of them being an electric violin solo.
He didn't actually march but he was the opening of our show and had a solo part from dracula. It was cool to have the violin there. 3nodding
