Helios' eyes went wide as he saw the crystals, his eyes going wide and looking like two puddles of chocolate milk. His mind seemed to swim with shining new visions; a crystal made of gold, a shining light, a beautiful dream, and sudden flight.
Unbeknownst to him, he seemed to give off a faint aura, like the moon behind a thick cloud. He gingerly reached up and touched the mark on his forehead, which seemed to give off a faint golden light. "I.....remember....."

Blossom stared, amazed, at Helios. He was giving off a strange light that calmed and soothed her. "What do you remember?" she asked softly, trying not to disturb him too much from the moment.

Helios almost felt weightless as he traveled through the winding transparent veil of memories. "I remember a golden crystal, and being assigned to guard it by a master of illusion. I remember a dark force trying to take it, and binding me when I wouldn't give it up. I remember being that way for a very long time, and then a shining light appeared and set me free. The light turned out to be a beautiful dream. I felt like I had sprouted wings and I was suddenly flying off, into the light......"
He broke off suddenly and looked at Blossom, the aura surrounding him wavering like a candle in the wind. "That's very strange...."

Blossom's eyes glittered with fascination at the way Helios could describe things. She felt that she could fly just listening to him. "Wow," she breathed softly.
"Helios, do you think that your memories may be the key to stopping my nightmares? That perhaps we may be bound by the same dark force? Well, me actually, since you're free now." She broke off, also staring at the wavering aura. "Is...is it trying to tell us something?"

Helios looked at Blossom, his eyes trying to find focus but still wide and seeming to see things millions of miles away. "If it is the same dark force, then it seeks the crystal. Perhaps it senses your own crystals and is trying to make itself known to us both through your dreams." His expression momentarily hardened. "But it should know that in dreams, the playing field becomes even."
His gaze softened as he looked at Blossom, this time in focus. "Whether it is the same darkness or not, I think I can help you." His aura was beginning to re-strengthen. "It may take a bit in coming to me, but if it does, I believe I can help you using one of those." He gestured to the two crystals. "You don't mind, do you?

Blossom shook her head. "It's alright with me," she replied. "If they're going to help me, it's definetly alright." She looked into his eyes, searching for the reason behind this.

Helios fidgeted a little at Blossom's unrelenting gaze, then he reached over and carefully selected one of the crystals. He held it cupped between his paws and took a deep breath, letting his eyes close.
For about a minute, nothing seemed to happen. Then the strange glow returned and brightened. The spot on his forehead grew brighter until it gleamed like a piece of gold under a spotlight. He lowered the top half of his body and touched the spot between his paws. Then he slowly straightened up and held the crystal out to Blossom.
Only instead of a regular crystal, it was a delicately shaped instrument not unlike a piccollo. It was etched with ivy-like designs and seemed to glow with inner light. "If you fall asleep and have this beside you, it will follow you inside your dreams. If the darkness comes again, play it, and it will call me. I will join you and we will see if we can put a stop to this darkness together."

"It's beautiful," she commented, barely able to believe it. The perfection of the picollo was amazing, and the soft glow it had around it was just...well, amazing also. "Thank you, Helios," she said softly. Looking around, she picked up the other crystal and handed it to him. "This is for you," she said. "For helping me so much."

Helios' eyes widened as he carefully reached out and took the crystal. "T-thank you." He shifted his weight back and forth uneasily, unsure of what exactly he ought to do now. It seemed rude to just leave, especially after having just met each other and exchanged gifts, but it seemed equally rude to stay there as someone Blossom had just met and expect her to sleep right then and there. It wasn't as though he had a lot of situations like this; he needed lots of friends for that. He looked almost pleadingly at Blossom, hoping she would suggest a proper action for him to take.

Blossom noticed the look in his eyes, and tried to think of something to do. "Um," she started softly. "If you're tired, you can sleep here in my cave," she said, unsure if that was polite or not. "I'm going to sleep now, since I know my nightmares won't bother me so much anymore."

Helios shrugged slightly. "I think I could sleep; I'm not very tired. But," he added hastily, "I've been known to sleep anyway. Let's give it a try."
Moving over to the other side of the cave, he lowered himself down beside the room's entrance like a guard and slowly shut his eyes. It seemed like only moments had passed before his breathing became slow and even.

Blossom relaxed as Helios's breathing got slower, and she smiled to herself. She yawned, and after curling up in the center of her cave, she noticed that she felt cold. She moved a little closer to Helios, to share the warmth radiating off of him. Closing her eyes, she murmured a scrambled good night to Helios, and drifted off to sleep, her nightmares a thing of the past.

Had Helios been awake to see Blossom snuggle up to him, he probably would have been too uncomfortable to fall back asleep. But seeing as he was sould asleep, he only stirred slightly and continued to slumber.
((If you like. ^^ You want us to make another one where they meet in dreamland or would you rather halt it for now?))
