Now, most lolita's carry a doll (to my knowledge) and I'm having trouble with picking one. I want a human doll (dollfie, right?), but I'm not sure if thats the way to go. I'm an EGL, so I don't know if, say a Gloomy Bear would be better, or what. What d'you think?

A gloomy bear would probably be more punk or gothic lolita.
If your going elegant you could just get a really nice looking teddy bear or Victorian looking porcelain doll.
Dollfie's are really expensive! But, if you have your heart set on one then go for it!, otherwise save, or try something else.

Actually, most lolitas do not carry dolls. I have not met a single one in person who carries a doll around with them on a regular basis. Two I know own dollfies, but they only take them to doll meets and never to lolita meet-ups.
Many lolitas use dolls or stuffed critters for photoshoots and the like, but it's rare that you see more than one lolita at a meet-up with a doll or anything similar. Some girls have bags that are shaped like stuffed animals [most noticeably the Bunny Bears made by Baby, or the little Rabbit Pouchette], though. Perhaps you could find something like that? I know that there are Gloomy Bear bags out there [I saw one that was a sort of messenger bag with just the head and another that was an actuall stuffed Gloomy Bear, though that might have been someone's modified stuffed animal].
I really wouldn't recommend buying a dollfie just for an accessory, though. Unless you're going to go all out and make outfits for the doll to match, or at least work with, all of your own, you're going to look kind of silly. Dollfies are hugely expensive, so most people pick one or the other. They wear lolita, or they have their dolls. It's very rare that someone will do both and do it well, since both are extremely expensive to keep up with.

I would say that I mostly agree with fabie , all those are great ideas. Also if you wanted to spend the time and have any sewing abilities , then you could make a more human looking doll yourself. PM me if you do. or you could carry any variety of other things including purses , parasols, or plush purses .
