Keiki worked her bottom lip between her teeth as her chestnut orbs roamed the surrounding area that made up the market place. She was close enough to the ocean that each inhale she took brought upon a salty scented solace to her tired and stressed form. The afternoon sun beat down on her and beads of perspiration dotted along her neck but she made no motion to wipe them away.

Idly, she found herself grateful that she had opted for a light skirt and shirt opposed to the heavy fabrics and long sleeves. This place was definitely hotter than home.

So that brought her thoughts back around to exactly what was this place, and how did she find herself here again? Of course the logical part of her brain screamed she was in the market place- and she walked. But another part of her stressed over the fact that she couldn't even recall the name of her new home. A-...a-...a...

That's all she could recall from Zuri's ramblings as they were shooed off the boat two days ago.

"A.." She tried the sound out loud, hoping to coax the memory to come back to her. Unfortunately it did no good and she gave off a huff of defeat. "Where the hell am I again?" She never caught onto the fact that talking to herself in the middle of a crowded market place wasn't exactly seen as sane. Ah, well. To each their own.

"Err...what time is it, Millie?" Tori murmered still enjoying the sweet dream.

"It's past mid-day, Tori," Millie Replied as she neatly folded her sheets. It has been a while since they got to sleep in actual beds, and they both enjoyed it. With the last request completed, they could go on for another month.

With a happy, satisfied grin on her face, Millie opened the curtains so the sunlight could be directed at Tori.

"Urrr..." Tori tossed and turned in ther bed, trying to block the sun from waking her up completely.

"Come On! We've got a whole day to venture around you know~ I heard the marketplace is opened today... and you know, we could stock up on some dried goods, and buy cloth to patch up out tent...the sheets...hey, Tori, are you listening?" Millie turned around to face Tori since she was so quite, but she only found Tori skipping her way into dreamland once again. With a little sigh, Millie jumped onto Tori's bed and started jumping up and down.

"We're going to gooo~~"

"Why did we have to wake up so early?" moaned Tori as she leaned over the inn fence, chewing the last bit of her breakfast. "It was my day to rest..."
"Mid-day isn't ealy, you know... it's half way through the day. Besides, the marketplace isn't open every day in Amies! We have to stock up for the next job!"

Tori sighed. Every time they entered the marketplace, it was usually herself that got excited, but for some reason, it was flipped today.
"Why are you so pumped today, Millie? You usually don't like the marketplace," Tori asked out of her curiosity. Millie hesitated for a moment, but replied once again with a big smile.
"Well, since you are always so worried that I don't get much social time... I decided to face it today... Besides, I have to feeling something good is going to happen today~"

Although Tori was still worried, she decided to let go. It was rare to see Millie this happy, so why not?

"All right, let's get moving then!"

It hadn't taken Keiki much longer to realize that, when pondering out loud, she received several questioning glances. Which of course prompted blood to race to her face, warmth spreading through her cheeks. Oh, lord. How embarrassing. Attempting to act nonchalant about the entire affair, she straightened her shoulders a bit more, lifted her chin a bit higher, and then- proceeded to duck into the nearest shop, trying to hide her burning face.

Smooth. She decided. Really smooth.

Rolling her eyes skyward at her own folly, she decided it was best to stick to the shop she was at, at least until her face cooled down and returned to it's normal pallor. Mentally nodding to her own plan, she meandered over to the fabrics that were on display, admiring their textures and designs. She had to stop herself from drooling. She'd have to ask Zuri for money next time she could make her way down to the marketplace.

"Ah, the smell of fresh baked lemon cake, just out of the oven...The sweet scent of cinnamon rolled buns!... and the-"
"Stop it," Millie muttered as she dragged Tori by her collar. Eventhough they just ate breakfast, it seemed that Tori was out for more food. No wonder they ran out of money so fast each time. "You just never understand the term 'saving money', do you?"
"Well, I do," Tori replied with a finger in her mouth, still dreaming about the delicious good she came by, "It just slips out of my mind at the sight of food, that's all."
"Oh boy..." Millie shook her head in disappointment. She wondered shy people ever risked their money for her to go look for stuff. Then deep in thought, she sniffed it - the sweeet scent of powdered coca, blended with powdered sugar and heated milk - the unmistakeable smell of her favourite drink: hot chocolate. She gulped at the thought of the righ liquid warming her up, and the sweet aftertaste which lightened her steps. "You know, on a second thought, Tori?" Millie stared back with an innocent smilke, "I think a drink may be all right."

With steaming cups in Millie's hands, and a small cookie in Tori's, they strolled down the crowded marketplace, looking for a trader with fabrics. It shouldn't have been a problem since cloth was needed everywhere, however, with all the people's heads bobbing up and down, plus the disadvantage in the height portion, it was quite difficult to make out which booth was which.
It took them several minutes to locate a decent looking store, and when they found it, they sighed in relief.
"Ah, I think we've found just the place - " Millie commented split seconds before tripping over a large pebble on the ground. As an instict, she tried to regain balance by waving her hand around the other way, but... it turned out to be a bad choice when she was holding the dark brown drink in her hand. The cooled down liquid sloshed out of the cup and onto the shirt of the girl in front of the store...and the cloth she was holding. Millie gained balance with the help of Tori who was right behind her. After seeing what she had caused, Millie bowed down deeply to the owner and the stunned girl to apologize with an almost crying voice. "Ah... I'm so, so sorry... Is there.. anything I could do to help?"

It was a particular royal purple fabric that caught her eye. The golden embellishing drawing her in. Tucking some of her hair behind her ear, she leaned down to pick up the fabric, pulling out some length to further examine it. Deciding it really did suit her fancy, she stood up, the spool of material in her hands. She didn't have any money on her, but she did want to at least get the price.

She'd been a grand two steps away from the wall of fabrics when a voice caught her attention. Keiki turned a bit, to see who the owner of the voice was, curious only to see her trip. Reaction time as poor as ever, she managed to blink at the hot chocolate spilled on her and the fabric. Of course, she'd managed to jump backwards, after the fact, as if in attempts to dodge the liquid on her shirt already.

Just a beat saw to her looking down at her stained shirt, then her eyes moving to fabric (Which she was certain was rather expensive) and paled horrifically as she saw the lovely brown stain on it.

Oh no. Oh no.Oh No.

Her eyes rose to in front of her, wide with shock. At the sound of the girl's (That evil female who just ruined cloth that she didn't have money for. Evilevil!) voice she managed to only blink in response before once more looking down at her clothing (and that damned fabric that sat guiltily in her hand. If she wasn't the one holding it, she'd make some corny joke about being caught brown handed.) before letting out a "Oh...s**t."

She realized that, perhaps, this wasn't the most elegant thing she'd ever said in her life, but it was rather befitting of the moment. Now what was she gonna do?

Millie lifted her head to face the girl infront of her. Clearly, she was stunned and...well quite pissed. she observed how the girl inspected her shirt, and then the cloth she was holding, then to look at her shirt again. Millie tried to apologize to the girl again, but was interrupted by the store owner.
"What have you done?" He showted with a thundering voice. The passing crowd started to stare at them in curiosity. "That was one of my most valued cloth, you know!"
Millie stared in awe. She had nothing to say back anyhow. She felt her face burning up, and the tears gaining in the corners of her eyes. Tori noticed how upset Millie got, and stepped up.
"Hey, she said she was sorry!" Tori spoke with a firm voice, "She's only a kid for God's sake! It was an accident, all right?"
"Well, then what about the ruined cloth?" the owner asked, raising his voice. "No one is going to buy it now!"
Tori froze for a moment, thought, and replied to the barking question. "I'll buy it,"
"What?" the owner said, quite stunned.
"We were coming here to buy some cloth anyhow, so we'll buy that one. You'll be all right with it, eh?"
"Ah, most centainly." He then turned around to get a pair of scissors to cut the fabric.
"See,Millie?" Tori turned and put her hand on Millie's shoulders. Millie looked up, eyes full of tears, occasionally sulking.
"Oh, Tori," she said as she gave Tori a hug.
"Ahaha," Tori laughed as she hugged back, then realized the girl standing in front of the store with spots from Millie's drink. "Err.. sorry about the shirt..." She said as she waved her hands around, since she couldn't move with Millie clinging to her, "We'll pay for the laundry fees and everything... I hope it didn't burn you or anything..."
