Name: Tabor Talbot Thirteen (However, this isn't my real name. This one was given to me by a gypsy upon reading my paw as a kit) Nicknames: Tay, Tay-Tay (I blame Dulcie...) Orientation: Straight Personality: I like to think of myself as Anti-social and slightly pessimistic. I have low self-esteem for the most part.
About me: Well...Even though I try to stay away from others for their own good, I seem to be rather popular. I don't see why. I'm not interesting, or interesting looking....Maybe it's my mysterious past? Anyway, I've been known to be a little sarcastic at times, but I'm really a big softie. And a gentleman. I am a gentleman. Likes: What do I like? Gambling. Even with my rotten luck, I still know how to make things go my way. Though I never get a chance to gamble, nor do I want to con other Namir like I used to. I also like walking, wandering really....Just to get away from it all sometimes. Dislikes: I can' stand to see girls cry. It makes me feel bad. I also don't like carrots, crowds, and con artists. If I had to suffer from what I thought was good, why should others get to benefit from it? Oh...And I don't like drinking. I can't hold my liquor, and I'm bad in situations dealing with drunks....particularly drunk women.
Family: Well. I never really had a family besides the two cons who raised me after I wound up in the bad parts of Namiah. But my roomies are like my family now. Blake's like an older brother, Flannery's like the older sister you wish you weren't related to, Shula's the quiet middle child, and Thumper and Dulcie are like clingy little siblings. Though I've found Thumper seems to prefer clinging to Blake. Friends: Friends? Well....Aside from my roomies, I don't really have friends. I'm not open enough to other Namir for them to be my friends...Well. I have two. This nice girl Julia and the lucky Felix. Julia helped me open, to tell someone about my past....And Felix and I seem to share an odd bond of sorts. Love Interest: See, now this journal is against my will. If I had my own choice I'd tell you nothing here....But I don't. So I could say I kind of like a certain Namir right now....I won't tell you who she is, but I'll tell you I like her.
Theme Song: Well I kind of have two. One is Luck be a Lady, from the Musical Guys and Dolls. And while the lady who cursed my luck was a lady...I dunno if Luck really is a lady herself. The other is Bad Day by Daniel Powter...

Two small kit's were playing in a field. One was black, with white stripes scattered here and there, the other, an orange color with green. It was a bright sunny day, the two of them, brothers, enjoying a game of hide and seek. The green one, suffering from a bit of bad luck, was losing, the sharp eared brother catching him a lot. But it was when it was the black kit's turn to hide that disaster struck. A large eagle flew over head, watching the two. As the little kit hid in a small hole, the eagle swooped down and picked him up, taking him away. The green and orange kit could do nothing but watch his brother slowly disappear.
The black kit woke up in some old run down part of Namiah. It was the equivalent of the back parts of cities, filled with not so nice Namrah. He wandered around, unable to remember who he was or how he got there. That was when he ran into the gypsy. "Lost young one? How about a reading? Perhaps you can find your way?" She offered kindly. The kit nodded and went into her shop. The gypsy soon began the reading. Her eyes grew wide with fear, then looked at the boy with a sadness. "What is your name young one?" she asked. He shrugged, he didn't know. The gypsy shook her head. "You need a name here. You won't fare well without one," she pause briefly then spoke again, "You shall be called Tabor Talbot of Thirteen ages. Though your name means The unfortunate Corrupted Angel of Gods, your future reflects this. Try to do good young Tabor," with that the Gypsy gave him a few coins and sent him off.
Alone in the place, Tabor found himself scared. He went along avoiding the larger Namir who walked the place. "Hey Kid!" called a voice. Tabor looked up to see a jet black Namir behind a booth. Beside him, was an Ocean colored one. Tabor walked over slowly. "Wanna play a game kid?" Asked the Ocean one. He referenced to three nearly identical walnut shells on the table, a bright red berry in front of the center one. Tabor nodded eagerly. "First game's free. You can keep the berry if you pick it," said the Jet black Namir. He put it under the middle shell then switched them all around quickly. When he stopped he asked Tay to pick. He pointed to the one on the right, winning the berry. "Great Job Kid!" congratulated the Blue Namir, "Wanna play again?" Tay nodded again, "Well what do you have? If you win we'll pay you double." Tay put up one of the coins he'd gotten. After the Blue one switched the shells around, Tay picked the center one. There was no coin. Tay, sure he'd picked right, continued to play. From Kiki's Journal "One more round kid?" asked the large jet black Namir. He received a look from the little pink eyes of the kit he was addressing. Not giving up, the kid pulled out more payment for the older Namir and his Ocean Blue buddy. He waved his striped tail back and forth, "I won't lose...." The other two Namir merely smiled, showing him the coin before covering it and mixing around the empty nut cases. The kit watched them carefully, his little pink eyes moving quickly to keep up with the one containing the coin. "Alright Kid, take your pick," said the ocean blue Namir when the cases had stopped. The kid had been watching carefully. He pointed to the case on the left. "It's under that one!" he exclaimed, proud that he'd paid well enough attention. The jet black Namir picked it up, no coin. The Kid's white striped cat ears folded back in anger. He'd been sure that the berry was under that one. Quickly he lifted the other two then glared at the two who'd just conned him out of everything he had. "You two cheated! That's not fair!" he hissed. The two snickered. "Life's not fair kid, but you paid and you lost!" the ocean Namir returned. Tears welled up in the little cat Namir's eyes. The two con artists looked from one another to the kid. Obviously he now had nothing, reminding them of themselves at that age. The black one sighed, "What's you name kid?" The kit sniffed, "Tabor..." "Well Tabor, how's about you hang with us? We'll teach you what you need to know and you can have a share in the profits. Deal?" the ocean Namir asked, placing a paw on the kit's head. Tabor looked at him, still saddened, "But....I don't want to hurt people like this...." he said quietly. "Woah!" returned the black Namir, "We don't hurt people Tabor! We run a business. If they pay they play, it's not our fault most of them lose....We give everyone a fair chance first, then they just get greedy. By addressing that sin of Greed we make them better Namir." The black Namir was a smooth talker, explaining everything to Tabor. The little cat thought on this. "I never thought of it like that....." he finally replied. "See? We help people Tabor. SO want to help people too?" The ocean Namir asked. Tabor nodded, he liked the idea of being taken care of and getting to help other Namir along the way....
Years had passed, Tabor was a teen and had learned the art of conning. Leaving his friends behind he set off to go solo. He conned anyone he could, getting away before some of the smarter ones realized he'd cheated them. Then one day, the black and white Namir found himself in a dice game with a female Namir. He'd been playing fair the first few rounds before switching the dice on her for the last two. They were now using his dice, one pair loaded to his advantage, the other loaded to the girl's disadvantage. It was the last round, the large pile mounding from use of fair die. Tabor rolled his loaded ones, gaining the pile. "One more round, double or nothing," the girl said, grabbing Tay's dice before he could react. She rolled, realizing they landed on the same number. She rolled again and again, finding the dice to be loaded. She cast a dark glare at Tabor, who at this point couldn't escape. "You've cheated me young man, and now you shall pay!" she growled. Tabor stood frozen. The Namir pointed at him, muttering a curse of sorts. A white number appeared on Tabor's hind leg, it was large. "Since you like games so much, here's one you'll enjoy..." she began to explain the 'rules, "For each Namir you've ever cheated you will receive 13 points of bad luck. These points are bad, you need to get rid of them. Until you do you and everyone within a certain distance will have bad luck unless they can cancel it out. With a score that large you'll be lucky to live." Tabor looked at her in fear, he'd done a terrible thing and now he was paying for it, "How do I bring down my score?" he asked. She laughed, "You must right your wrongs and help the Namir you've cheated. That and various other good deeds will lessen your score. When you have but thirteen points left you'll find me and I will give you one last test. Good luck!" she vanished. Tabor looked at the number best he could, this was going to take him awhile....
It took him most of the years until he was an adult but Tabor had managed to right his wrongs. He'd watched as the number went down all the time, his luck getting better and better as he went, and the space between him and others growing shorter and shorter until he'd helped all but the female who'd cursed him. He searched for her everywhere but couldn't find her. After three years he stopped looking, deciding then to just live with his poor luck and keep away from other Namir. The number thirteen and his bad luck would from then on remind him of his past life, and changed him forever.....

Hopes and Dreams? Oh...Well Hmm.... I think I should tackle this with a list...
1) Find the Namir Who Cursed me and Finally Get rid of my Bad luck 2) Make a few friends 3) Move out of my current Home 4) Settle Down with a nice girl... 5) Maybe have kits...MAYBE 6) See the World
I don't really know what I want..... I guess I have to follow Voltaire's words I'm trying to earn a set of Feathery Wings, to take me away from here....
Now don't take that the wrong way... I just want to correct my mistakes in life....To learn to really be a better Namir... And maybe help others do the same...

Well I've recently learned I have a brother. Apparently when we were little we got separated and I forgot who I was.
I met a Namir Named Felix. He is orange and green, and rather lucky. He had been searching for his brother like I've been searching for the Namir who cursed me. I offered to help find his brother. So, after scaling a mountain and speaking with an eagle we both discovered something. I was Felix's brother. Needless to say we were both shocked. And he was very glad to have found me.
I'm glad I found him too. I like knowing I have family. That I have someone who cares about me that much. Maybe I am just a little lucky...

So I joined the Olympics. My starts aren't so impressive I'll admit. Most fall into my intelligence (you have to know what you're doing to pull off a con) and stamina (looots of walking). My accuracy has never been good. Precision yes, accuracy no. I'm not very strong because I've never needed to be, and I'm pretty average paced.
In all reality I'm doing this to show I can make something of myself...That I can succeed doing things fair and square.

I think Julia and I are really going to be together...I'm glad because I get to be with her. She's really the only girl I've ever like like I do.
There are these voices in my head though. I'm not insane, it's just the inner demons. Everyone has them, just not everyone listens. They keep telling me she deserves more, better....that I should just go and let her find someone better... But...But I like her too much to let her go. Does that make me selfish?
