wow now see why can't anyone even try to learn drums or something on long island? starting a band isn't easy when everyone else would much rather listen to Flo-Rida or some other crappy rapper mispronounce words with a beat

I hate rappers. Throw them out, they're not anything close to candy. I know someone at my school who plays drums, and they're awesome at it too, but we're kinda far away from Cali... I wish I could make a legit band. I can sing, except not in front of an audience. Somewhat debilitating. And I'm just a beginner at guitar. Whatever band I made would suck.

Oh man, I can't get anyone to learn anything where I live. They'd rather just listen to it than play it. Bunch of bums...

I understand the hatred towards rap, I really do. I used to be the same way. But the fact is that most people who hate rap just haven't heard good rap. Most of the rap that's popular today is hardly even rap, much less good rap.
But yeah, a lot of people listen to crappy muzak.

Rap was good in the 80's...and around the time when Rage Against The Machine were big. Talking of bands, if your still a beginner then you should make a band full of beginners, then there's no pressure, that's what I'd like to do.
