Im getting a new bass in a few months and i picked 2 bass. One of them sounds terrible, but if i get it i want to move the bridge pickup[it has 2 SB-4 pickups] so it`s position will be right under the neck pickup.I want to know how hard this will be and how much it might cost.

You can't really move pick ups after they are put it, its prity much carved into the wood. It is possible, though you would have to make a new cavity for it, and you whould have to fill in the old one. That would be costly in itself. Also it would probably degrade the sound of your bass, because it would be even harder to put in a peice of wood that would keep things sounding good. Plus that would also be expensive. Using putty would make the thing sound prity bad I would think. no matter what your looking at a prity serous operation, that would probably cost a good hundred or two bucks.

I have this strange idea in my head that Jaco moved the bridge pickup on his bass forward a little and I'm not sure why. But it would take a hella lot work. And it probably would come out sounding pretty terrible, so just stick with grabbing that other bass.
