Who: Kinsey, We'rika and Sevilin Where:A local petshop When: Some lazy afternoon
It had been a few weeks since Kinsey had finally moved to her own apartment, and the young woman had finally started settling in. The first weekend had been spent repainting walls. She had painted the rooms a variety of pale yellows and blues and greens. The second week was spent rearranging furniture with a near neurotic fervor until this very weekend. Sure, she had made her place her own, but it still didn't feel very lived in. So, her first real paycheck cashed, Kinsey headed towards that pet shop she had noticed on her way to work last Friday.
She was going to buy some fish! Kinsey wasn't entirely sure what kind she wanted, yet. Goldfish. Tropical fish. Maybe she could get some koi...but didn't those need a big pond? The girl shrugged to herself and pushed the door open, nodding to the teenager behind the desk as she looked around the small store. Now where were those fish hiding? Down here...?

A strange face was squished against the glass of the store window, watching with bug-eyed wonder at the puppies that played before him. They were so cute and fluffy and no doubt soft huggable. He wanted one, no never mind that he already had a puppy named Sprinkles. But another never hurt. Of course he had no money and Sevilin doubted the shop owner would relent to his sad face. Tsh, such cold-hearted people shouldn't exist.
Eventually, he got tired of just looking and slipped into the shop, his presence noted by a soft jingle above the entrance door. There were more than just puppies in the store he could see now. The occasional squawks, yips and squeaks of animals left him smiling as he wandered through the maze of cages. He wanted everything!

These were gerbils. Not fish. Albeit, gerbils were very entertaining, when they actually moved. But these pet store gerbils looks like they wanted to do anything but run on the squeaky wheel. The hamsters looked equally thrilled. Time to move on. There were rabbits, but Kinsey didn't like rabbits. They were sketchy things. Seriously, their teeth? Yeah. Oh sure, other animals had big teeth but-
Where the hell was that guy's legs?
Kinsey blinked and rubbed her eyes, just to make sure she was seeing this correctly. Oh, uh, it probably wasn't polite to stare. But. What? Unless he was...a Raevan? Of course, she knew what one was, but really only in theory. The youth shuffled closer and peered again, while trying not to stare. "Um, hi," she finally said, offering her most charming grin. "Whatcha lookin' for?" Best to be friendly, right?

"Uhhhh...." The little Frei trailed off as he did his best to unglue his face from a lizard terrarium. It was one of those leopard geckos. They were pretty cool and all spottily. And sooo soft! He got to hold one once and eee so cute! They were so nice and just liked to hang out. This one was actually pretty fat. The little water Raevan had seen a show about them and they stored their fat in their tails. Very interesting.
Finally he looked up to the girl and smiled. "Nothing really! Just lookin'... Well... Maybe for some fishies! I like sea animals a lot. We get along pretty well..." Sevilin gave a serious nod. "Fish are the easiest to be friends with, but everyone in their school has to like you. They don't like to do anything by themselves. Sea cucumbers I like probably second, they always have some of the best stories, you know. Well except for sharks though they can kinda get .... what's the word? graphic... yeah. Though they are pretty misunderstood..."

Kinsey blinked, slightly taken aback by the strangers chattiness. People were never that friendly, especially before they had their coffee. (But if you didn't have anything below a chest, did you even drink coffee? "Uhh, okay." Was he -he sounded like a he, at any rate- talking about talking to fish? Kinsey blinked again and ran a hand through her dark hair. "I've never tried chatting with fish myself, but I'll take your word for it," she finally said, chuckling softly.
"Do they really all talk to you?" she asked, stepping a little closer. How they hell did he even communicate with fish? Did he have to be underwater to do so? "Do the different kinds of fish speak differently?" What? Kinsey couldn't help it, she was curious!
"Oh! I'm Kinsey Finch, by the way. Pleasure to meet you," she said, finally remembering her manners as she extended a hand.
