Yiou just can't replace the feel of an actual book. You can't ear mark the pages of a pdf. or find your favorite part in a book because of the crease in the binding. You can't see how worn a computer file is from reading it so many times. I can't see computersreplacing books. It could make them more expensive, which would be sad, but I would still love hard copies more than electronic ones.

*huggles books protectively*It's hard to tell what the future will hold but I sincerely hope that computers won't replace books. Even if there weren't potential health problems I'd still stick with books. If it was to happen in my lifetime I'd end up the slightly crazy old lady down the street who had that archaic book collection. I agree with Phantomette, part of the geeky experience for me in picking up a new book is to be able to hold it in my hands physically and think about everything that could be inside it. It may sound eccentric but after a while when I've read a book so many times it's like the book has a life of it's own and I find comfort in the worn cover and crinkled pages. I was surprised at first to see so many people to not like the idea, but now that I think about it I'm not that shocked.

it is a possibility that it can happen because of the tree killing but it should never happen! they can easily recycle paper (like the french Harry Potter 6, they saved more than 28 thousands tree by recycling (for 2 million copies)) and you wouldn't be able to read your "book" on the bus, while walking or during a blackout with a computer. And a book is material! It's there you can touch it, hug it and even bite it (but don't do that please). If computer books existed they will surely be little chips. Something like "oh no! my 'book' got scratched, I have to go by a new one" may happen when a good happy real book's pages can fly away and it will be still okay (happened to me, just putted the page in order and use an elastic, no big deal)
BOOKS ARE OUR FRIENDS!!

I think there's a possibility that books might be replaced with computers. Though if it did, it won't happen anytime soon. Though the process had already started. E-books anybody? Well... I think it's more likely if they coexisted because the world will never give up books...I hope. sweatdrop .
