the complete list
Name: seven waters- Waters of the Styx
Reason: river styx…underworld…death….should be pretty simple
steps/description: this jutsu is meant to be a fatal jutsu if completed. The movements are so fluid and graceful that if the opponent isn’t distracted by it in some degree, it has been done wrong.
The movements can best be described by the connected movements of belly dancing (cooler than it sounds. Yeah, go watch some) however there is more sway in the limb movements and wider, more extended bending of the torso. Water flow follows mostly the arms, extending for up to 10 feet. The main point of this jutsu is suffocation or drowning although it can leave burns or cold burns (like how when you play with ice it starts to sting).
type: senjutsu
name: seven waters- waters of the nile
reasoning: just cuz I think it’s important. The nile has always been a blessing to the Egyptians right? So it makes sense that a jutsu named after it would be a sort of protective one…I just thought it was cool to explain WHY it was what it is
steps/description: the main purpose of the jutsu is to create a water barrier that acts as a shield and an illusion. To elaborate, the water is used as a wall or dome or (like Gaara) simply to block as necessary. The illusion part comes in when it is used as a wall or dome. The water is “infused” with sounds (hummed notes) and creates a funhouse mirror effect. This can range from a distorted reflection of the opponent which will “get hurt” if a weapon is thrown or it’s hit, making it appear that they’ve been hit instead of their target, or multiple images of the jutsu user
type: senjutsu/genjutsu
name: seven waters – waters of the Red Sea
reason: the Red Sea is known for its extremely high salinity (lots of salt). In biology I learned that salt draws moisture because water follows solute which is in this case salt. It creates a drying out effect (if you have regular salt-ish water in your shower you should know what I mean)
steps/description: the purpose of the Red Sea water jutsu is to dry out the opponent to the point of damage. To elaborate, the motions are similar to that of the River Styx jutsu, but the effect is different. The effect is that the salt of the water becomes so intense that the skin of the opponent rapidly dries, cracking and of course widening with movements. The salty water, with an almost grainy feeling, easily gets into this creating the familiar sting effect of salt in an open wound. Once in the wounds, the water begins to do the same from the inside
type: senjutsu
name: seven waters – waters of the Black Sea
reason: the Black Sea has an odd water exchange with the Mediterranean Sea causing a lower “level” in the water. This lower level is lacking in oxygen to the point (if I read correctly) that normal water life doesn’t grow
steps/description: possibly one of the more difficult. The way the water flows it is a spiral of two different types, regular oxygen level and one of lesser. This spiral tapers off at the end and recycles itself. When it reaches the opponent, the regular oxygen level water recedes, leaving only the low O2 level water as a solid bubble around the head. The twin strand of water will stay outreached until the desired effect is complete in order for the bubble to pull away and reform and the spiral be used again as desired. End effect, suffocation/drowning
type: senjutsu
name: seven waters – waters of the Caspian
reason: the Caspian sea is known for its sturgeon, a type of fish. The eggs are very popular for caviar (yuck) however they are currently being overfished to alarming numbers
steps/description: the water takes the shape of two giant sturgeon. (to give you an idea, type “sturgeon” into
http://www.google.com/imghp and see what pops up) they “swim” based on the arm and hand movements, possibly even details to the finger movements. This is more of a defensive jutsu. The fish block against attack and can rush or attempt to startle the opponent. While getting hit with so much water does hurt, it probably won’t do more than knock someone off their feet and cause some spluttering and coughing
type: senjutsu/ninjutsu
name: seven waters – waters of the Amazon
reason: the Amazon is known for its flooding. The branches of it don’t all flood at once but they can be quite powerful
steps/description: this can be an attack or a defense. The water is built up into walls or a wall depending on what’s needed and these walls are pushed forward in swells or random timing to keep the opponent from having a chance to attack. They can be controlled to roll in from any side of the opponent and can be pulled back and held but this must be a built up endurance.
type: senjutsu
name: seven waters – waters of the Arctic
reason: …..it’s the arctic ocean….it’s cold? 0_o
steps/description: a small glacier/shark fin shape that skates along the surface of the ground. in the right type of ground, it can sink under to an extent but because of the properties of this jutsu it wouldn’t be possible to completely hide it under the surface of the ground. also, running the jutsu underwater is much more difficult. Waters of the arctic plays on the temperature of the arctic ocean. In some places of the glacier/fin the water is a slushy consistency and has a thin sheet of ice over the top edge. This ice will shatter on contact into razor edged pieces. Because, freezing cold water of course isn’t enough. Same control movements as the Amazonian waves, mostly attack but can be defensive. If handled properly, the user won’t get cold burn and will be able to physically brandish it as a shield
type: senjutsu
name: final symphony
steps/description: as with most if not all of chouko’s jutsus, the movements are connected and flowing. Final symphony combines a sound genjutsu with a taijutsu. It begins softly with minimal movement but works its way up to a crescendo. By humming, the genjutsu creates the illusion of disorientation and tired almost warped view (things blend a bit and makes you dizzy) the taijutsu is instigated with small rounded blades that resemble petals/leaves. They’re about the same thickness so by using small air currents brought on by hand motions, they can be practically floated to the opponent leaving small thin cuts. The genjutsu part then changes from less disorientation to giving the illusion that the cuts are slowly opening on their own and the flesh is being sizzled away. At this point, a final blow can, if desired, be dealt
type: genjutsu/taijutsu
