Now, all of us happen to love beautiful cover art for books, whether it's big and flashy, or delicate and simple.
What I want to know is, what is your favourite cover art?
Personally, I love the art for the first book of the Leven Thumps series (which will have five books in all when finished)

It's smooth and realistic... and I just can't help but smile every time I see Clover by his shoulder. This cover is also what reeled me into the series. ^^
Discuss::
1)Favourite cover art?
2)Why do you like it?

I judge whether to read a book based on cover art, the spine, and the general synopsis of the summary. x3
I don't think I have a favorite cover art. I hate Twilight, but the covers are pretty, and the newly redesigned Sarah Dessen books have great covers. I also like the style of the Gossip Girl books where they don't show the faces.

Unless it stands out as strikingly bad or dull, I don't really notice cover art at all. I just finished reading Gish Jen's The Love Wife, and before putting it back on the shelf, I noticed the cover for like the first time. I mean, I had some vague idea that it was yellow and brown with some blue and a person's face, but I never really looked at it. I'm like that with most books.

I generally like simple covers. Especially those of Lynn Kurland's romances since most of them show landscapes or castles. Covers with all that bare flesh in your face is actually kind of a turn-off unless the sypnosis of the plot on the back cover sounds intriguing.

The Princess of the Sword cover reminds me of this one book I attempted to read when I was thirteen. Something Avalon. T__T I can't remember... but it had a woman on the cover like that. ^^

XD My mind insists on going over every detail in a book's cover art. I've tried buying books with none at all, but it was like trying to keep a dog away from it's food dish. I'm hopeless. crying

I don't pay much attention to cover art, actually. "Don't judge a book by its cover" comes to mind. Sometimes if there are multiple covers for a certain book, I will check them all out to see if one of them fits the tone of the book more, etc.

I try not to judge a book by it's cover. Sometimes the plainest of books tend to be a better read than those with bright and pretty covers.

I tried breaking my habit of buying appealing books and go for something plain... but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. That's a goal of mine.. even if I have to get one of my friends to only buy me plain-covered books. XD

I actually don't like cover art too much. My favourite kind is the floaty fantasy kind. I also like landscapes and such on covers, but I despise seeing portraits on them. My favourite kind of cover, however, is a simple fabric binding in burgundy, emerald or navy blue with golden or silver printing on it.

Oh! I think I know what you're talking about. Those are so beautiful... though I haven't seen many.
