She shook her head. " Nah, it's nice out here.. and Mama and everyone's ok." She said as she took off her shooe and the n her sock, ringing it out over a flower. "And 'sides mama might get mad if she found out if I fell into the water."

"Mmm... 'kay, long as Dite's okay," Reid nodded in understanding and began to trot around, investigating the flowers and the insect life curiously, bare feet leaving tracks in the soft earth. Soon he'd dropped to his knees and was stalking after an oddly colored moth.
One swift motion and he had it captured carefully in his hands, he peeked in and grinned, "Dite! Come look!"

Aphrodite smiled up at Reid, glad he understood. Now removing her other sock and ringing out of the same now over watered flower, she blinkined watching the Firefly-mishap. Dropping her socks and shoes, she took flight to see what he caught. "Wad-izzit?" She peered over looking at his cupped hands.
"It's ok." Catherine sighed, she'd rather not try to explain in now sice it was so late into the night. "I'm going to go check on the kids, see if they are still asleep..." Catherine yawned a bit, her hand covering her mouth. "Goood night Bax.. Good night Chao, it was a pleasure to meet you."

"I'unno..." Reid brought up his hands and opened them slightly, showing Aphrodite the incredibly fluffy moth he'd captured.
Chao nodded, "pleasure meeting you as well Catherine," she fidgeted slightly, pondering heading down to check on the Mishap children, but was distracted by one of the larger telescopes instead.

Aphrodite gasped, much like her younger self would. Her hands on her cheeks, making an exaggerated face. "It's so cute!" She exclaimed, giggling a bit at the fuzzy moth. "You're a good catcher."
"Do you wish to see the stars?" Baxtefullous asked, gestering to the telescope.

"Heh, s'cause I've got four arms,," Reid waggled his remaining free hands, glowing warmly at the praise. The other mishap's mood was quite contagious and his earlier worry was forgotten.
"'E's really fuzzy," Reid continued, bringing the moth to his cheek, "he feel alot like my fuzz," he held out moth, still gently clasped in his hands so it wouldn't fly away, "Dite wanna feel?"
Chao looked over to Baxtefullous and nodded, stepping up to the telescope. She didn't immediately look into the eyepiece, rather she took a minute to look over the telescope herself, vaguely wondering what caused the image to be shifted and made to look so large. She could've sworn she'd learned it, at one point or another, but now she couldn't recall it.
She looked into the eyepiece and the enlarged stars then back up and over to Bax, "Bax, I don't suppose you understand how telescopes work, do you?"

"Yes!" She wiggled happily petting the fuzzy moth, she then yawned a bit, using her free hand to cover her mouth. "I'm getting a bit sleepy." She said, looking a bit drowsy.
He began to roll up the scrolls he was using, taking a starmap from the shelf. "Well think of it like a big magnifying glass." He shrugged. "Though I'd think it was also enchanted, knowing Jabir." He smiled a bit, stretching. "The night is growing long, and I'm groinw g a bit tired. I think I shall retire, and take the young miss home." He nodded to Chao. "Good night." He smiled walking towards the door and opening it. "Oh, here.. if you you still are interested in Reid being tutored, this is Catherine's number. " He pulled out a small piece of parchment paper and scribbled a 7 digit code, handing it to her he then waved once more and walked out of the winding hallway to where Aphrodite and Reid were. "Dite, it's time to go to bed."
"Ahh.. really?" She whined, sighing, she collected her shoes and socks. "Bye Reid!" She grinned at him. "I hope I see you again soon!" She flew up to him and hugged his face, kissing his cheek she flew away sitting on Bax's shoulder.
"... Why are you wet?"
"umm.. well you... see.... heh." Aphrodite grinned a bit, laughing nervously.
"Hmph, well we better get home before you get sick."
"...right... Bye REEEEEEEED!" She called out waving as Bax walked away and began going down the stairs.

Reid chuckled and nodded, normally his entire family was asleep right now, but he'd slept through the day and, well, honestly he always felt better at night.
A big magnifying glass, well, she'd known that much. Must've had something to do with the properties of the glass....
As Bax started to walk towards the door she snapped out of thought and nodded, taking the offered parchment paper, "thanks again, sleep well." She waved him off, taking a last minute to examine the stars before her maturnal concern got the better of her.
At the tall, long eared man's questioning Reid couldn't help but chuckle, though silently he was glad he wasn't the one facing it and was glad that Dite seemed to get out of it.
He barely managed a gentle pat-hug goodbye when Dite kissed his cheek. With a lopsided smile he glowed warmly at the pleasant feeling and waved, "g'night Dite! Sleep well!" Once they were gone he turned back to his investigation of the garden.
A few minutes later Chao wandered back down, "Reid?"
"Yeah Mu?" the firefly called back from within the depths of the garden.
Grinning Chao gestured for him to emerge from the plantlife, once he'd fluttered to her side she'd grinned, "feel like looking around a bit more?" At his nod they'd headed off down the stairs.
