I've posted this in the Parenting Subforum as well, but a lot of the information in this book is relevant for teenagers and adults, so I thought I'd post this here as well.
I just finished reading "More Speaking of Sex: What Your Children Need to Know and When They Need to Know It", by Meg Hicklin, R.N. This is an AMAZING book! Each chapter covers information that parents should (in her opinion) be teaching their child, from preschoolers (age 2 - 4) all the way to grade school (grade 7 - 12), and things adults should know. There's also a section with straightforward answers to things children will ask, and a section on doctor's visits (male and female exams) for parents with teenagers/teenagers themselves.
I'll be making a sticky out of the book once I finish my current project, but wanted to recommend this book in case anyone is able to find a copy. In addition to it being an awesome book, this also marks the first time I've found someone who does exactly what I want to do as a career - but she's a registered nurse, and I'm getting my bachelor of social work degree. I dunno if I want to start over and be an R.N just to do that. sweatdrop But it was interesting to read about her experiences for sure.
So yeah. Go read this book! biggrin

If you have any more recommendations, go ahead and post them. I'm always looking for good books for the local library.
I also like Scarleteen's "S.E.X." book. It answers a lot of questions in plain English.
