Normal discharge is usually clear or white. Many girls have brown or pink discharge when they get close to their period. That is normal. Very pale yellow discharge is also normal for some women, but yellow or green discharge can also be a sign of an infection, so if you're unsure, make an ob-gyn appointment.
I agree with her. I have a white (slighty yellow) discharge all month long that gets heavier and turns more yellowish brown right before my cycle as well, it has never caused me any problems but my mother also insists it is a yeast infection but my doctor said I was just one of the many women who has a bit more discharge than others. I just use the pantiliners all month long as to not ruin my underwear as discharge has a bleaching effect on clothing.
If your worried or just want to get your mom off your back, go to the doc, they will tell you for sure.
