Thimble unlocked the door to her room, she threw her satchel into a nearby chair and leant backwards onto her door, using her butt to close it with a click. She stood there for a while, feeling strangely tired. She hadn't expected class to sap her strength so, but the first few minutes of it had been enough to exhaust her, though that was more because it was like a bad dream...
She opened her hand to reveal the purple-hazed object within. This, at least, told her that the experience was real. The corners of her mouth twitched, and she twisted forward on her torso to set it down on her desk. She straightened a little too quickly too fast, and knocked her head on the door with a muffled thump.
Gahn'yeeeeeh she bent over forward, her head almost at her knees as she clutched it with sprangled hands. It was in this position that she noticed a small slip of blue. Huh! Someone must have slipped it under the door. She dropped her hands to lay flat on the ground on either side of the paper, leaning forward still further to peer at it. Upside down the words didn't make too much sense....
She made to move her head around to see it the right way up, dropping her shoulder slightly to facilitate the movement, but this action disrupted her sense of balance, and as she pitched forwards she half-tumbled not half-painfully on her shoulder. Ka-THUMP.
She lay on her back for a while, since the carpet felt far more friendly than an attempt to stand.
Finally, she wiggled her way around the floor, until an outreached hand could grab this elusive blue patch. The first three words flared her interest immediately, and her sight became greedier the further down she got: so much so that she skipped over words trying to get to the next, and had to re-read parts. Of course, even in the most inefficient manner, it only takes so long to read such a short note.
She sat bolt upright: pretty amazing considering her childish frame had not a lot of muscle power to it. Party! Wow. Special! And she's invited! Belwen was not a name that struck a bell, but she was sure she had simply forgotten it in her excitement. It wasn't like everyone on the floor had been invited, hah, hah! (Poor delusional Thimble)
But the time... the time was now! Egaaaayaaah, no time to ready! Thimble pushed herself to her feet, crumpling the note underhand in her haste. She dropped it face up on her bed and peered into her mirror, scrubbing at her face roughly with her palms as though this would sharpen her appearance, and weaved her fingers through her hair a few time to press down the straying threads. She took a quick glance around the room as though to remind herself if anything should not be forgotten, then lunged for the door handle, fell on it, dragged herself back to open it, leapt out into the hallway dragging it closed behind her, almost losing her balance backwards as it slammed shut and refused to follow her further, turning and pausing briefly only to ensure it locked, then bolted down the hallway.
Paaaaartyyyyyyyyyy
