The Heavy/Power Metal band Red Wine, was formed in Logroño (Spain) in 1997. Their first album was 'Hijos Del Despertar' (sons of awakening). It was released in June 2001. With this album, we can discover a promising young band with songs that combine Heavy/Power Metal groove elements with melodic vocal lines and fresh sound. After some live performances, some of them with Dark Moor, Red Wine had the chance to open the Saxon Spanish Tour (4 dates) where they showed their outstanding quality in every live show. In those dates 'Hijos Del Despertar' was licensed and released in South America, U.S.A y Canada.
The band recorded their second album 'El Fin De Los Tiempos' (the end of times) at Rock Studios, the mastering was made at New Sin Studios (Labÿrinth, Domine, Dark Moor). In this album Red Wine had the collaboration in the choirs of Elisa from Dark Moor and Nacho from Arwen. As colophon: a great cover artwork of Jean-Pascal Fournier (Edguy, Avantasia, Immortal). The final result shows us a band which have approached the experience gained since the release date of their first album. Their songwriting has a more mature direction with tons of new elements. 'El Fin De Los Tiempos' is a concept album based in the fighting between the evil and the divine. 'El Fin De Los Tiempos' was released in April 2002.
After some gigs , the band decided to start the songwriting of their third album, although they stopped the process some days due the recording of the track "Rise and Fall", for the album "The Keepers Of Jericho - A Tribute To Helloween Part II" .
In December 2002 Red Wine started the recording of 'Sueños y Locura' (dreams and insanity).
'Sueños y Locura' was released on the 14th of April 2003, being this one their greatest album, showing us over-all quality. The band played some gigs with Iván Ramiez as new drummer. 'Cenizas' (ashes) shows again the fresh and original sound of the band. Their final album, before they splitted up, was a cover album they did to say goodbye to the stages as Red Wine. They named it 'The End'. They cover, great songs by great bands, such asDeep Purple (black night), In Flames (saquare nothing), Blind Guardian (imaginations from the other side) and Megadeth (in my darkest hour), among others.
They don't have a myspace, nor an official web page, but don't let this deceive you, they are a great band. Victum even plays a cover of 'renacer' (reborn), song that could be found in 'sueños y locuras' (track 02). All I could find was some videos in youtube and a few mp3s I have, I am truly sorry.
