Don't know if anybody else has heard this, but fans of Ashdown should be happy to know they opened up a factory in the U.S. Which means that Americans and Canadians can now order Ashdown classic amps and cabinets and have them get there faster, and for considerably cheaper.
If anyone has any other good news amp related lets hear it here.

I don't know if this is good news, but Ampeg has moved all production to China, this was a few months back though.

Even some of ashdown's lower end stuff it is prity nice. A good penny cheaper then most Ampg stuff. I personally don't like what I've hurd from Ampg, though I've only played out of their modern STV tube amps. I don't really like tube amps for the most part personally.

It's all preference when it comes to tubes versus solid state. I like the tube sound so I love the older SVT's. The newer ones lack the balls the older ones had, but they still don't sound bad. Either way though, I'm running everything through my BBE so it doesn't matter what head I have, so I just slave a 700 watt power amp too it.

I can't tell you how much I'd love to try on a vintage STV. But I doubt that will happen, so for now I'll stick with ashdown.
