Count Basie, Herbie Hancock, and Eddie Harris are pretty good. Cold duck time is one of my favorite pieces.

Herbie Hancock? Isn't that more of fusion? I love any of Stan Getz's ensembles. It's hard to pick, though... One of my favorites right now is the 'Caribbean Jazz Project'.
