Who: Darkside and Lilianna, et whichever others seem appropriate/we feel like involving.
What: It's been... a long while since Envy attacked Lil and Darkside decided he'd come check on how things have been.
When: Early July.
Where: Training area out front of Trel's Gaia home.
Why: I need to RP Darkside more and I'm sure Lil would like a chance to meet the kitsu who saved her. XD

User Image It was the early end of mid-morning, and all was quiet. Or at least, no noisier than it normally was in front of the house by Bass'ken Lake with all the beings that typically joined in the morning training session. It was, at least, a typical peaceful morning with no untoward suprises yet. It seemed it was always "yet" with untoward suprises at this household.

A shadow stretched out from beneath a bush, rolling through the grass toward the house in a way that did not really divulge an oddity other than the fact that it was, perhaps, darker than usual. But there was still a whisper, a feeling of something being there that had not been, that would have put the properly attuned of the group a bit on edge. There was no sensation emanating from the presense other that a muted sort of curiosity though; things remained quite for a moment.

Then the shadows boiled up over the top of the patch of grass and rose like oily smoke to slowly coalesce into the form of a somewhat peculiar looking kitsusagi with eyes like twin moons. He seemed both there and not; the only things about him that seemed truly solid were the pendant he wore and the blood-red markings on his hips that drew the eye like beacons past the half-seeming of his eternally moonlit blackness.

-Greetings.- The voice was deep, but bland, the simple statement almost a let down after his entrance in spite of the way it drifted into both heart and mind. Would any of those present recognize him? The thought was idle, but relevant enough to remain in the forward of his mind.

It was a faintly familiar one however, one that when trying to call it to mind they remembered the touch itself with gratitude even as it brought forth memories of anxiety & fear that had to do with the situation within which this presence had been felt last than the presence itself .For whatever this one was, it had never neared the clearing in the center of Bass’ken Woods with ill intent. No alarms sounded as the shadowy being slipped through and though those training were startled as the dark kitsu suddenly formed, none were frightened.

Side by side, Liliana Lupin-Elric and her youngest daughter Aurum had to turn to face the unexpectedly arriving ‘guest’ with unrecognizing green eyes. The usually laughing Zell however did recognize the kitsu and while still smiling the hyperactive SeeD fistfighter had grown quite somber –remembering. "Hey dude. Long time no see, man.” The friend grin was also a grin of deep gratitude upon Zell’s furry, tattooed face. Two pairs of green eyes looked between their oddly subdued trainer & the shadowy kitsusagi visitor. "Zell? You know him?”

As the spiky blonde head nodded a soft but remarkably clear female voice carried like a whisper on the wind from the porch and the now open door to the house. "You could say that we do. You could also say he knows you better than any of us, Liliana.”

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Confused the crimson furred witch did not bother to hide the emotions on her face as she looked to the speaker. A tall, gracefully curving woman who was nearly human except for the delicate wings and antennae of a lunar moth was coming down the steps towards them. Two young children –a boy with strawberry-blonde hair to match his mother’s & a blonde girl- not much higher than her knees & both bearing traits of lunar moth and dragon moved silently behind her. They were holding each other’s hand and each peering shyly but unafraid around their mother’s long skirt. They looked like a little prince & princess in their full covering blue, light green and white outfits, with softly golden trim and crosses. The brightest thing on the young anthro twins faces were their eyes of blue and blue-green.

The anthrobreedable Rune Bivrow dropped her hands one on each side to rest on each of the peeking heads gently. Her eyes bore more memory and understanding than the kitsu Zell’s blue gaze, though the deep gratitude within was a close match. "It has been a long time. It’s good to see you again, Darkside.”

"Darkside?” Aurum repeated in a faint whisper to her mother, green eyes wide on the stranger until the little Elric realized she was staring & with a heavy blush glanced instead down to the ground where she could only see the shadowy kitsu’s paws.

((Warning… Death’s incoming next post, more likely than not. O_o That’s all we were able to distract…

oh yeah.. and there is a reason Lily doesn’t do her morning training with Ed all the time. *winks* I half hope it will come up. ^_^))

Neither face nor moonlit eyes betrayed any real expression of emotion, though there still remained that sensation of curiosity and now a trace of relief. -A long time... yes. Though before I came to this form time meant little to me.-

The shadow tendrils of his hair suddenly began to flicker as if caught in some unseen breeze after a few moments spent examining the anthro twins. A taloned paw reached up and tapped at his pendant; it might have seemed an unconscious nervous gesture except that after a moment a small blob of shadow fell to the ground from the hollow center and formed itself into a small guardian creature. -Shadow... likes children.-

The guardian shook his small antennaed head and peered at the twins blankly before standing and scampering, four-legged, to go over and examine them more closely. At some point during the process, the small Heartless stood upon hind legs once more and tilted his head back to peer upward at them. And promptly fell flat on his back, scrunched up his face, and flailed his little limbs in distress.

Darkside watched all this with seeming impassivity before commenting, -He is amusing. He is safe to touch, if they wish.- He and his little minion. Why they, of all Heartless, could interact with creatures that still walked in the light will no ill effect he did not know. But they were different. They always had been.

The Heartless' attention diverted to Aurum at her queeried repetition of his name and he watched her silently for a moment. Then with eyes that gazed unblinkingly at both Lily and Aurum he proceeded to seemingly address Zell and Rune. -I am glad to see she and the unborn recovered fully.- There was a feeling, a hidden meaning behind the words, but it was indecipherable and drifted beyond reach before even the Heartless could guess at it.

The Heartless' reactions -or rather lack of them- did not seem to trouble the moth-winged White SeeD. Strawberry-blonde head nodded thoughtfully at his reply, pausing only to give a glance at the kitsu Zell who was not hiding exactly how perplexed he was feeling at the cryptic wording and what it could mean. "Sometimes... it feels we judge time here by how fast our young grow." Soft and clear as usual for Rune, it was merely a comment, nothing asking or respecting a reply as her pale green eyes fell lovingly on her own young to watch their reactions to the shadowy guardian.

Two pairs of eyes -one blue, one green- widened as the little creature came forth. Two matching smiles of awe and then then little 'prince' & 'princess' were looking up at their mother, asking silent permission. Rune chuckled softly. "Yes. Go along, loves."

The twins released hands only to trail those hands around their mother's skirt to clasp again in front of her before running on surprisingly sure steps for ones so small to the overturned creature to help him back to his feet.

The unborn? Recovered... fully? If Liliana's thoughts were slow to grasp the meaning it was not from mental inability, but rather the pain & anguish as that night flooded back around her, flooding her mind and being on so many levels. Her daughter was a little quicker to respond, not having the personal pains and emotions -only sympathies- to overwhelm her. "You're the one then? The one who saved us, and brought us home. Daddy doesn't speak of it often, but when he does..." Aurum smiled in her warm and loving way, then stepped forward to hug the stranger just as sweetly as if he were family. "Thank you. We all thank you. So much."

"Aurum..." Pride and love for her daughter, undying gratitude for their savior. There in her heart and in the tone of how she spoke her youngest daughter's name.

((okies... managed to hold Death back one more post for that tenderness. ^_^

I seriously thought I had already replied to this. *faceplants* I know I remember typing it. I must never have submitted it though. d'oh! Funny... the resulting post didn't change much.))

Darkside nodded faintly at Rune's statement about time, and the comment drifted idly from the Heartless but with a touch of something to it, -If that were the measure of time... I would have to say I have not been here in a very long time indeed.- His eyes went from the twins, who had not yet been born when he had last seen Rune, to Aurum, who had been born and grown to adulthood in the time it had taken him to decide to return. There was, perhaps, a touch of regret in acknowledging that fact to himself, though he could not fathom why. Why in this form, in these places, he had actually grown to see those around him as people and not as... well... food.

Would such knowledge have disturbed them? Hmm. He did not truly wish to find out.

Shadow's small eyes popped open at feeling himself lifted and the small creature just as suddenly stopped his flailing as he peered at the twins with a blankly curious expression. He then began pawing at his rescuers as though trying to figure out what they were made of.

Darkside had not come here expecting to be touched. Shadow was the one who wanted to touch, who usually incited others to touch him if only out of curiosity. It had never occured to Darkside before that someone might want to touch him, at least in any sort of affectionate way. So it was that a face to which expressions even consciously affected were foreign and very rare lapsed into blank shock at Aurum's hug. It did not hold any measure of displeasure for him, though it was awkward and strange. A moment too long spent in surprised silence with no movement either toward or away drifted past before he tapped the top of the young female's head with his chin in a bewildered attempt to guess at a proper reaction.

It was surreal to him, in all honesty. Not unpleasant but so completely outside his previous range of experiences that if he had not felt it happen for himself he never would have believed such a thing might occur. It was so bizarre that for the moment all ability to come up with any sort of comprehensible reply to their thanks had been stolen from him and he was overwhelmed by a feeling, a want, a need, for something like this of his own. That feeling itself incited further confusion for him, and for some reason a desire to retreat back to the HQ and to Pearl. She made him feel... calm.

-You are... welcome.- Words came back with visible difficulty, and even those not gifted with understanding of the subtleties of body language could tell that the dark kitsusagi's mind was still off kilter. But she mentioned her father... the young one had mentioned her father... -The father... your father, little one. Where is he? I had thought...- What had he thought? Truth was truth, there was no reason to lie even if it did feel strange to be saying such things with his sudden wash of strange emotions. -I had thought perhaps to see all of you, and make sure you were all well.-

The White SeeD nodded with a soft smile, eyes gentle and perhaps a bit sad while still being happy. Wordlessly, she stepped towards her children to watch them with Darkside's small companion. The bahamut/moth twins giggled softly as they were pawed, eyes lighting up.

After looking up at the large kitsu with a hint of curiosity touching the warm reassurance of her smile that his reaction was just fine, Aurum ducked her head sheepishly and giggled at the question. Somehow... even in knowing there was an innocence about her as she replied. "Well... Daddy & Mommy can't always train together..." There was something impish and teasing in her innocence and Liliana felt her face warm realizing where her daughter was about to go and finding herself unable to stop her. "They have a tendency to get distracted."

Green eyes sparkled happily in gold marked white face at that truth. Aurum liked how close her parents were and though she did not think of it, in her heart she looked forward to someday finding such a thing for herself.

Liliana coughed slightly. "I can call Edward and ask him to join us. William & Morgan can be fetched as well."

Shadow continued his pawing for a moment before flopping back on his rear, looking rather baffled. Then with a rather determined look he got to his feet and clambered his way up between the twins to sit on Refies' head. He peered down from his new perch, and around, looking rather pleased with himself until he looked across at Darkside and realized that, at the moment, he was nearly on eye level with the larger Heartless. For some reason this seemed to utterly shock him and he toppled from his perch, hitting the ground with a soft "whuff" sound and a brief smoky puff of shadow from the impact, and began flailing his legs again.

Darkside simply shook his head at his small minion's antics. Even he was often baffled by the other Heartless' behavior. He turned his attention fully back to Aurum as she began speaking, glancing over to note Liliana's blush. How... peculiar. He recognized by their behavior what they were talking about but attraction, at least of that sort, was foreign to him. He was really... starting to think he was missing something... on multiple levels. He found himself wanting... what?

The large Heartless thought over Liliana's offer for a moment before shrugging his shoulders, tendrils of mane whipping about idly behind his head in some unseen breeze. -I gather from you that they are well. That is enough for now. Perhaps I will... visit again, another time.- There was a pause, the heavy sort after which you just know something else will be added. -You only speak of three... what of the fourth?- It would seem he'd been able to identify the hearts of each of the four kits even at that early a stage in spite of the critical nature of the situation at the time.

Refies blinked as the strange creature climbed up him. He looked uncertain whether to laugh about it or roll his eyes. He was quite accustomed to small pets wanting to play on him. When their father was not around anyway. Seifer Almasy had a way of ... discouraging small playful things from 'attacking' his twins when he was around. Watching, Nahnia put her hands to her mouth in a childish giggle. That brought her brother around, a small smile lighting his otherwise over-serious young face.

But that ended as the guardian fell, the twins gasping with worry. Refies put out his hands to try and catch Shadow but his child-reflexes were too slow. As the little creature landed the two children went to their knees, their wings spreading like small capes on the ground behind them. Leaning forward on their hands they peered anxiously at the little guardian. "Is'ou a'right?" The little girl asked softly with concern, her twin expressing his in a nod while waiting for an answer. Both seemed very concerned over how Shadow flailed his legs while on his back.

Liliana's eyes grew big at the question. He knew?!? She knew so little about their savior. All of them knew so little about him. So Aurum beat her to an answer with her sweet & sheepish giggle. "You're right! There's four of us. Vic can be hard to find sometimes though, so it's only guaranteed we'd find the others not that we meant to leave Vic out at all. Just harder to find her." Her smile up to the much larger kitsu was sweetly innocent and charming.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. I almost regret being the one to bring you such news, dear readers. We all know by now 'sense' is not something needed when getting the attention of a certain silver-haired mad kitsu. In fact... one could say lack of sanity would be siren call alone. Even I can't say for not knowing why or even how this is to happen...

...LAME!!

...Excuse me?

Lame! LamelamelamelameLAME! Is that the best you can do? Where are the fireworks? The Pretzels? The party favors? how 'bout pinatas? Not those electrical types either. I want real stuff to bash with real treats inside. Magic treats. Weasleys can make 'em. Sell like hotcakes. Pops'd like one. Toys might be better for him though. And cheese-mess-things. Should I tell him those're pretty good with peanut butter? Cuts down on the orange paw situation afterward. Sure to have it but wonder why mom's never asked him about that orange rin-...?

*interrupts hurriedly* Oh dear! Look at the time! And who is that with your cousins?

*Death distracted*

*announcer more than visibly relieved that Death is distracted*

On the side of the porch a small shadow portal opened, and from within... a rolling ball of kitsu shot out of it like a pinball. Literally. Light brown, silver, blue & black swirled as the kitsu ball spun across the yard -miraculously hitting no one. About to hit a tree there was a squeal from the garden and suddenly the living ball was proving itself a pinball as it bounced off some unseen shield before it could touch the plant. Veering towards the flower garden the cry within went off louder this time and again before the kitsu-ball could hit it was being repelled. Another such bounce and the ball was slowing enough the kitsu could not keep ball-form without the inertia powering it. Brown limbs started to flail & flop out, blue marked tails whipped and dragged. The kitsu in question came to a halt beside its tiny blonde cousin, a look of dizziness in the golden eyes. It was on its back, long silver hair splayed beneath it, the beautiful black dress in more than mere disarray upon the slender body. Dizzy though they were, the kitsu's eyes turned to beam at the openmouthed kitsu looking down on it. "Rum! Rum! There you are! We need to fortify the kitchen! The red queen's on her way -or was it the white? Maybe black. ~Fie the deadly black tarantula! daylight comes and me wanna go home!~ Transmute metal sporks for me? I'll animate 'em later. Uranium. That'd make their eyes glow. Make em move too. Sporks make good catapults. If they get loose they're still a weapon. Nuthin' like the smell of napalm in the morning. Oh! Sempai!"

For with a blink Death 'FarFar' Wilson had looked up further beyond Aurum and noticing the Nobody subconsciously recognized that he was. In that moment only.

It would not save Darkside from a lifetime of being treated familial. Nor the title Death had bestowed upon him.

Liliana chuckled and her daughter giggled. "Sorry Mister Savior, Sir. This is our cousin, FarFar Wilson, also called Death. Death, this is who saved Mommy an' all of us." Her cousin's eyes took on the roundness of one who was pretty darn impressed.o

Shadow stopped his flailing rather suddenly after a moment, blinking up and realizing that things had returned to their normal state. He tucked his tiny paws in next to his belly and remained looking dazed for a moment before finally sitting up.

The little Heartless looked around curiously again, almost like he was double checking to make sure everything had righted itself, and then noticed the twins' wings. Tiny shadowed mouth forming a small "o" he trotted over to examine them more closely, then peered from them to the pair of odd wings straddling Darkside's back. One to the other he looked for a moment before flopping down on his small derriere and looking rather befuddled.

-As long as all are well.- He could sense the suprise from Liliana, and the curiosity. He could feel the gentle affection directed at him from Aurum, and her child-like awe at this person who had saved her life before she'd even been aware she had one. He could explain how he knew... he could tell them much about himself, but to stare face to face with what he had been and still could be in light of the shining personalities around him he found he just... couldn't. He almost felt... ashamed.

It was a curious sensation, and not a particularly pleasant one.

The uncomfortable line of thought was rather abruptly dislodged by Death's somewhat spectacular entrance. Somewhere off to the side he saw Shadow flicker in fright and poof into a patch of shadow only to quickly flow up Rune's side and reappear peeking over her shoulder at the unexpected visitor.

Darkside watched without any visible sign of a reaction as Death resolved herself into a kitsuagi once again and began babbling, although by the end there was a slight furrowing of his brows. Tiny though the action was it made him seem more tangible in the face of the eerie moonlight upon his form and the flickering of his mane in some unseen wind.

-Sempai?- There was an instant recognition of what her presense entailed, the same one she seemed to have had for him, although he found her choice of address for him peculiar. It made sense, after a fashion, surely, but it was not the sort of thing he would have expected. Though what had he expected when he'd made the decision to come here today?

When Aurum addressed him he turned his moonlight gaze to her, slowly tilting his head slightly to the side. -Darkside.- He straightened. -I am Darkside.- His gaze drifted back to Death. -Though I suppose you may call me as you will.- He'd never had a nickname of any sort that he could remember.

Eyes remaining on Death he was quiet for a moment before addressing her directly (no doubt interrupting some monologue or other). -Greeting, young Nobody. The Organization is reproducing then?- He had, perhaps, just divulged more about his origins than he had intended. Although he had not really had any intention of hiding anything if asked before he got there. He did not understand why he was feeling as he did, aside from the possibility that he did not wish to delve back into the Darkness this close to the Light.

A soft sad look crossed the little girl's face as her head tilted slightly to her right, both twins looking perplexed at the little creature's actions. "Mama?" She asked softly with concern in her young voice as if Rune being mother of course had all the answers. But as any mother knows... of course Rune did not have all the answers. However being older and more experienced along with being fairly perceptive the White SeeD was able to at least able to come to an educated guess based on what she had seen. "I think he is comparing your wings to those of Darkside, dear hearts." The twins were thoughtful only a moment before proudly but softly explaining "I have daddy's wings an' Na'ia has mommy's wings!" & "I have mommy's wings an' Weffie has Daddy's wings!" simultaneously. Then they glanced to where the kitsu were and said as one " Will an' Wum have their mommy & daddy's wings..." Thoughtful pause. "So Dawkside has HIS mommy & daddy's wings!" they deduced proudly. Rune -proud mother that she was- put her slender fingers to her mouth to hide her soft chuckle behind it. Not that she could mask the amused sparkle in her eyes. At the same time... the former tele-based SeeD was picking up something from the shadow-kitsu with her newly reawakened powers that saddened her. It reminded her of Seifer... and how he had felt after having sided with the evil sorceress back home. Not quite the same... but there was more than a thread of similarity.

"Darkside..." Aurum repeated softly, with a sweet reverence as she filed the name forever into her head and heart. He was family now. Forever. Her tails wagged happily, the small kitsu content to just be in his presence while letting her much more outspoken cousin take center stage. The wild Death was of course energized and ready for... well trouble probably.

And yes... there had been an internal monologue. Sing praises that it was internal. Aurum had either ignored or forgotten the strange request made her, but Death did not seem to care. Nor remember itself really. Though it did. Death's mind might seem as defective as a sieve for retention... but the sieve only hid one of the best vaults in existence. Unfortunately.

"Well, yeah Sempai!! Gramps, an' Unca Saix -he's with 'Rum's Aunt, cousin Ayako -isn't that cool?-, an' the lightning b***h, an' an'..." Golden eyes blinked in confusion. It had lost the rest of them. Well that certainly would never do. That was it! Death would go on a quest to find the rest of its Organization 'uncles' (great uncles... whatever. So it thought of the Organization13 members as siblings. -those poor kitsu) -at some point. Maybe just keep an eye out for them. A true quest would take up too much time and require Death to be focused. Not to mention being away from Josh possibly for a long time... Heavens forbid! "Kits are like the think to have, you know! My sister Pez is gunna have 42! Still dunno who with -but that's not really important either. Grow the armies of the apocalypse! Cousins Lil an' Ed're always working at their own armies. So're Mom'n'Pops. Ya'know it's a wonder they've time for anything else-"

Liliana, her gold tipped ears almost red from the heat that had spread to them in her full body blush stepped in to quickly distract her cousin. "Everyone's doing great, thanks to you Darkside. The kits are all grown up now so it's harder to keep them at home you know. Can't keep them home and protected forever." The potion savvy witch spoke rather hurriedly, her paw with no black on it 'accidentally' over FarFar's mouth as she stepped forward. But as she reached the end of speaking the paw lifted a fraction and her clearly hurried speech slowed softly with a hint of disappointment and sadness along with a trace of guilt. Her Kits had not been permitted the freedom she had enjoyed when young, even if she had not taken advantage of it. Because of Edward & her fears that Envy would try to strike them again...

"s'at why 'Rum's only ever round here an' the Place?" Going wherever it wished since hatching Death had seen but it seemed she was only making the connections now. Liliana ducked her head in sad reproach. Quickly but softly Aurum spoke up, her voice sweet and loving. "I don't mind." Sadness there only to have seen hints of guilt in her mother's lovely green eyes. Eyes Aurum had inherited fully from her. She stepped to her mother and nuzzled her sweetly. "I've always been loved, and taken care of. Dad takes me to see Uncle Al, and everyone else is at the Place or comes to visit so I don't mind." "yeah! Why don't you ever transmute warrior rabbits when you rescue Josh from closets and come see him and End and ..." Death listing off every member of Haisyn Place did not see how her tiny cousin paled beneath her already white fur at the mention of transmuting bunnies. Aurum's voice when it came could almost not be heard over Death's continuing litany of names. It was so small and sad and unlike how she normally spoke. "We don't transmute living things, FarFar. The price... is too high." Leaning into her mother Aurum gladly accepted the equally sad & sympathetic embrace to be found there.

Death finished and blinked at her cousin catching up to what had been said. "No peanut-bunny-sporks?" Disappointment paramount in the horseman even before Aurum shook her head.

Well... Shadow wasn't one to to correct the reasonings of children. Actually he couldn't talk anyway, and while he knew that in Darkside's case the children's assumption was incorrect - the Heartless didn't have parents, per say - his mind simply didn't function on a high enough level to truly realize what was wrong with the assumption. But when looking to Anthro-Rune's wings and then her childrens', what they'd just said clicked well enough that the smaller Heartless nodded in at least partial understanding.

After a moment though he turned to peer at his own back with a slightly frustrated expression. There was a distinct... lack of anything there and he couldn't fathom why after seeing something on nearly everyone else's back here.

Darkside let the insane babble wash over him and roll off, much like a duck in water. He surmised from the behavior of the others that this particular kitsusagi was best taken with at least one grain of salt. As the conversation continued, however, it revealed rather a lot more about the family dynamics and personalities of the group than he might have expected. Finally there was a pause where in he could interject some sort of input and he did his best to respond as seemed appropriate. And he had to admit that if nothing else he was glad for the momentary reprieve from the new feelings that were surfacing in response to the earlier events of this little visit.

He looked Lil square in the eyes, and though his expression had resumed its usual impassivity there was a hint of gentleness to his "voice" as he spoke his next words, carefully directing them toward the crimson-furred female in a sort of aside. -It may not be my place to say but it seems your children hold no ill will about your protectiveness when they were young. There is no point in feeling guilty over what you felt was necessary if it did not cause them harm. If my impression of that being was at all accurate what you did was very wise, if not always pleasant.-

There was something far deeper between mother and daughter in their reaction to what Death had said after that, and while he did not understand precisely what was going on he felt compelled to try and re-direct the mad Nobody's attention. -I don't think the rabbits would find being turned into sporks particularly pleasant, FarFar. And peanut butter or not, it wouldn't do you much good if they all ran off, would it? No... it's rather frustrating for me when things run off when I'm trying to use them, wouldn't you agree? I think you might be better served by something magnetic.-

He hoped that didn't cause more problems... magnets were very, ah, versitile devices. But with as strange as the conversation had gotten in the few minutes since Death's arrival perhaps his desire to see what precisely happened next could be attributed to morbid curiosity.

The Almasy twins smiled as their new little friend nodded understanding of their conclusion (so they thought) almost to the point of beaming as far as they ever did. Soon however their smiles fell to worry or sadness as their little lips drooped watching Shadow twist. Like they felt for his lack of wings. Still... it was funny looking and soon a little 'peep' of laughter pipped out of both of them bare seconds of each other. "aw S'adow. Some no wings. Zells no wings." Refies started, pointing to where Zell had drifted, and then off -to some far away place; the direction of a kingdom where the anthro moomba Zell was now. "Pe'er no wings." His twin added helpfully, pointing towards a small white bunny beside the source for the earlier cries of protection and telekinetic power that had pinball-Death bouncing. No power came now from the rabbit's young cait charge now however. None readable to all but the very best microtalent detectors. "Reds some wings most not." The little strawberry blonde boy's face crinkled in confusion at that thought, knowing the Weasleys were all siblings and had the same mommy and daddy but they had never seen this mommy & daddy Weasley and they were all different animals. That there were 'doubles' of some in different species was not an odd thought to the twins who had been born into such a family. "Auwum's sis'ers no wings too/" More confusion, but then both tried to smile, to reassure their dark little friend that having no wings was okay too.

Red bangs fell across Liliana's face as she tilted her head at the thought directed purely at her. Green eyes flicked, noting that no one else heard what Darkside was saying to her in confirmation. If Liliana had no connection with others that spoke mind-to-mind she would likely be very disoriented indeed from the experience much less this new revelation. As it was Lily took it in stride. The happening, not the words. The words bore right through her guilt-wracked heart like a soothing balm. Others had said similar things to her, but somehow hearing them from the one who had saved her -the one who knew what she had gone through but without having the emotional and personal perspective of being the parent- it somehow got through and helped. Tears of relief & thanks welled in the witch's green eyes. She nodded silently, chocked up, and thought a very tight very emotional *Thanks* to their Nobody savior. This thankful feeling was doubled with the way Darkside attempted to divert her niece from the painful conversation of living transmutation. None of her children attempted the forbidden parts of the alchemy taught by their father, thank God. They had only to hear the tale over and over -and see the reminder in their father's automail leg and arm to be reminded of the cost -and that the lesser payment. Thoughtless animals might not have the 'souls' thinking creatures did, but it was barbaric and too close for comfort.
If Darkside was lucky he could not hear the internal monologue of the certifiable 1/4 Nobody as its retentive mind grasped and encircled the potentials and wonders of magnets in Death's own mad criss-crossed tangled skein of thought. It was something the talents of the home had learned to muffle for their own sanity or be overwhelmed in the onslaught of vivid, excited, mad-intelligence. It was also something they did not inform Death was a potential problem on the off (but quite likely) chance that it would occur to Deadpool's daughter to try and do just such a thing purely for the fun and curiosity of seeing what would happen. Aurum was content to lean into her mother for comfort and smile her own soft gratitude at her savior.

It was a good thing it could not read thoughts like its mother and especially 'grams' could. Heavens forbid. Gleaming gold eyes at last looked directly into the Nobody's orbs, dancing wildly but with a deep conviction and odd seriousness. "The celery stalks at midnight. Don't trust the rocks -they're sneaky." Wise and knowing nod -kind of difficult with its long silver hair half beneath it while still laying sprawled on its back. Plans swirled in its head, streaming one into the other and often jumping chaotically. It was almost more frightening when FarFar was silent than when it spoke. All in this house except the very young and very childish understood how thoughts traveled faster than words -even words spoken as quickly and close together as Death often (usually. always) spoke.

"Magneto's cool but I bet seven one odds Pops can take him. We'd need a plastic spork army just to play with him. intermingle metal and plastic just for fun. Maybe the flaming butterfly will help. Do you think he's a homo? Maybe he's a homophobe? Naw, his son likes guys. Or am I getting him confused with Northstar again? they look the same. Good, cause it wouldn't be any fun to play with someone who would run from a butterfly. Giant caterpillars are something else though. And one-winged angels. Famine's prettier than him but I've better hair."

It was rambling again. There was a bit of a sigh of relief from the cottage in general it seemed. "We'll just have to breed them instead. Bunny-spork-cockroaches. Add birds to the aerial units! bunny pellets from above! Magnets will pull the waste down quicker! To arms to arms!" Death waved its forepaws over it in the air as its sleeves slid down to bare them -nonpulsed that it was on its back in a typically 'defenseless' position with a kitsu it should probably have at least some fear for looming over it. But then fear was for the sane which clearly Death was not. It was singing 'onward apocalypse soldiers' to the tune of "Onward Christian Soldiers" in a surprisingly lovely voice except that the words were all death, dismemberment and destruction. Perhaps most odd, was that the song went from beginning to end in a 'proper' fashion going through verses and refrains evenly without distraction or deviation. Touching but for the chilling verbal parody and except for that was as if sung by a heavenly & innocent cherub.
