"And onwards to Victory!" Meeka shouted. Apparently, she seemed to be in an uplifting spirit even with the predicament she was in. She had fallen while making her way into Katarina causing her to obtain a large and noticeable gash on her shin. Due to the pain that sweltered from the open cut, she couldn't walk. So she decided to take the advantage and use her four legged partner to his best. She had climbed on his back and decided to straddle him like a Ponyta. "C'mon Ebba!" she said as she clicked the side of him with her heel. "Let's get a move on!"
But Ebba struggled to make one step due to the weight that was collapsing his back. He staggered and huffed. "Stant stant stant!" he said aloud which meant, "You lazy and dimwitted idiot!" Ebba was thankful though, as his trainer could not understand his speech. Another step was taken and he slowed as he reared her weight.
"Gosh, I thought you were stronger than this!" Meeka said as she slammed her heel against his side once more. "It is half your fault that I got bruised like this!"
Ebba huffed once more. How could it be his fault if he was safely inside his Pokeball when his idiotic trainer fell? But suddenly, when his breeder trainer kicked his side, he fell on all fours. His legs sprawled out and trembled, he was not happy as of now.
Meeka slumped and limped off of her partner. They were neatly in front of a couple of Pokemon Stalls, but apparently both of them being on the ground didn't draw the attention of any of the personnel. She huffed also. Wasn't really a good way to enter into the city at all.

So this was it huh? Katarina. Well it sure wasn't home. Carter adjusted the army bag on his back as he allowed his gaze to sweep the area. It didn't really seem too different from what he had just left behind. But then he shouldn't judge so quickly, this was only one of the towns after all.
A light sigh escaped his throat as he glanced down at the Growlithe at his feet. Yero returned his gaze with a small yip. "Well don't we look like quite a pair eh?" Carter bent down to ruffle the fur atop the Growlithe's head. He was still rather scrawny for a growlithe, his paws still to large for his body. And quite frankly he looked clumsy. He was too, usually. The poor thing had been known to go tumbling at random. That little fact had caused the growlithe a lot of discomfort in battles, he always had trouble gaining his footing after being knocked around by an enemy.
But then looks could be decieving. Yero had a fighting spirit that Carter had yet to see rivaled. The pup fought with as much valor as a fully grown Arcanine, and was nearly as fast as one as well. What little Yero lacked in power, he made up for in speed, and Carter was truely proud...If only he had been to make his pokemon as proud of him.
The somber mood seemed to seep in and Yero's ears drooped. "Growl, growlie." Which was meant as some sort of comforting words, something along the lines of keep your chin up.
The edge of Carter's lips twtiched upwards in a half smile. You're the boss boy. He gave the Growlithe a small salute and straightened up, motioning for Yero to follow he began to walk through the streets, buildings passing by virtually unnoticed, he'd had enough of big buildinds. In fact nothing really drew the ex-junior officer's attention until he came upon a girl and her Stantler. "Oye...You alright?" The Stantler looked more than a little disgruntled and from the huff that escaped the trainer he reckoned that she wasn't exactly pleased herself.
Yero simply tilted his head to the side, his ears flopping into his eyes, "Growlithe?" Which could be interpreted as the same question, except aimed at the Stantler rather than the human.

Meeka looked up, noticing the face of a male who had seemed to offer her help. This enlightened her face with a smile. Finally! Someone more helpful than her partner! "Oh, um, not really..." Meeka replied as she pushed her somewhat bed headed looking hair out of her face. "I have seemed to have bruised myself while traveling here and I am unable to walk. Maybe you can be of assistance?"
Ebba huffed again as he turned his eyes toward the Growlithe that seemed to have called toward him. He blinked a couple of times before answering with a simple, "Stant." which translated into, "No." Ebba was trying not to be rude on his part, but with the amount of energy used trying to carry his dimwitted trainer drained him to answering in partial speech. But eventually, Ebba was the first to get to his feet as he clopped his hooves against the pavement. He shook a couple of times and so did the scarf around his neck following his body movements. He grabbed the sleeve of his trainer, trying to offer some assistance to her.
Meeka reared up as she was lifted by her partner. She was apparently pulled up now, but she couldn't use her partner as support as she had caused him enough trouble already. "Thank buddy." she said as she patted him on the head. "And sorry for what I did." Meeka than turned her attention back to the trainer that offered help. Even though she was up on her feet, she still needed help getting to a doctor or someone with medical knowledge. But her attention was more caught on the Growlithe the male seemed to be companioned with. "Wow!" Meeka said as she stared down at the Growlithe beside him. Her breeder eyes titled in an ark and she smiled turning back toward the trainer. "I am impressed! You really do take care of your Growlithe!" she said.

Assistance, of course he could be of assistance, it was his job after all. And then it hit him, not here it wasn't. He no longer wore the uniform of an officer, and without the badge hidden in his jacket, no one wold have made the connection between himself and a friendly police officer. "Of course I can. I know some first aid too if you want me to take a look at it before we go any further."
Carter shifted his footing, if she didn't want the medical attention, he could help her walk, but if she did he would need to retrive the first aid kit in his bag. It wasn't an issue, but he needed her opinion before he made any further movements. But then she set her eyes on the Growlithe and her comments about Yero caused an embaressed blush to spread across his face. Even if he was still growing, and rather small for his species, she was impressed? "I...uh, oh thank you. You really think so? This is Yero." He shot the growlithe a look behind Meeka's back, "What do you say boy?"
Yero barked his approval, licking Meeka's hand in thanks to her comment. Priorly he had been wondering why to say to the Stantler's abrupt answer. Sheesh he was only trying to be helpful at all. "Growlie, Growlithe, Growl." He grumbled under his breath which translated into more or less "You don't have to be so grumpy, we're just trying to help." Regardless of how Ebba had meant her answer, Yero had taken it wrong. But the growlithe was perceptive at least, and he had realized how tired the Stantler had looked. "Growl? Or "Can I help you?" Grumpy or not, Yero would try to be friendly.
Carter watched the interaction between the two pokemon for a moment before returning his eyes to the trainer before him. Or at least she assumed she was a trainer, she sounded more like a breeder though, so perhaps that was the more accurate description of her profession. "Oh I completely forgot, I am Carter by the way."

"My breeder eyes never lie!" Meeka said, though she was still in training when it came to her profession. Tilting her head, she smiled. "I guess first aid before heading somewhere else is more advantageous than myself walking around with an open wound." she added, putting her finger to her lip. "And a grand person to meet too! Nice to meet you Carter! Name's Meeka, Zatao's in-training-to be-best Breeder! And this is Ebba, my buddy." she said as she placed her hand on Ebba temple. Sighing, she fixed the scarf around her neck. "Sure's gotten hotter lately." she whispered under her own neck and she loosened it slightly. "So Carter!" she said with a smile. "Shall we hop skip or jump our way into applying some bandages?" As she said this however, she began to tip forward. Apparently, she was trying to reduce the amount of pressure on her foot by standing like a HootHoot. It wasn't very efficient however as she lost her balance. "Wahh...Wahh...!" Meeka said as she fell forward.
Just in time however, Ebba stepped forward and grabbed the back of her denim overalls. Biting down, he pulled her back up to stance again. Ebba had ignored the questions and remarks from the Growlithe. "Stant." he said, which translated too, well, "No."
"Heh, thanks buddy!" Meeka said as she patted Ebba on the temple again. She squatted herself down and met eye contact with the Growlithe. "Hello there Yero!" she said. Before continuing to talk, she stared at the Growlithe. Not really touching, but just scanning over different parts of his body. "Well, he sure is small. Quite smaller than the average size of a Growlithe." she noted. "Upper arch of the hip and slenderness when it comes to the upper torso seems to be good. Apparently no cohesions, twitching, or uncomfortableness when it comes to muscle movement. Pelt is well groomed. Soft. Tail fur is well. Fluffy and holding consistency..." Meeka continued on and on about the Growlithe and the attributes he held. She finally stopped and stared back up at Carter. "You are an officer?" she giggled. "Never met one before! Quite good to meet one!" she added.

This breeder was a peculiar person for sure, and surprisingly friendly at that. He watched as she failed rather miserably at propping herself upward on one foot and as the Stantler caught her fall. ”Sure thing, give me a moment.” He knelt down around the same time that Meeka did, slinging his small canvas duffle bag forward to allow him better access.
His eyes were on the bag as he sorted through the assortment of items, but his ears were more preoccupied with Meeka’s analysis of Yero. He grinned at the compliments, finally pulling out the small white box that contained his first aid kit. “You’re going to give him more of a big head than he already has. Thanks a lot.” The last part was said rather sarcastically but the edge of his voice portrayed nothing but amusement. ”What about his paws? They’re a little oversized…Does that mean that he’s just going to grow into them?” They were only slightly overgrown, not overly disproportionate to his body, but enough so that it was noticeable if you looked. He wasn’t sure if what he said was true, but that was what his parents had told him when he first brought Yero home from the Academy.
”They make him pretty clumsy sometimes.” It was an offhanded remark as he pulled out the needed supplies. ”But as long as he’s focusing he doesn’t have much trouble.” He motioned for her to come closer. ”Here sit here and I’ll see what I can do about your injury…Wait, how did you know?” He was sure he hadn’t told Meeka that he had previously been an officer.
Yero was enjoying the attention however, and sat stock still so that she could examine him, giving a small yip at her approval. When the Statnler replied however, his proud look shifted into a soft glare. ”Growlithe.” or What’s your problem?”

Sitting herself on the floor, she motioned her wounded leg toward him. "Tis the truth!" she smiled at his remark. "But meh, call me someone to like to inflates others ego." Staring at his paw's awkwardly, she tilted her head. "Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't." she said. "I am not much of a perfect myself, counting my height whatnot when it comes to Milktank herding, but I get by." Though she had not mentioned it to Carter, just by her attire alone one can suspect she came from the country. "Yero should be able to do well too. Big paws or being clumsy doesn't single him out from being an excellent Growlithe." she said as she stretched to pat his head.
Referring to his question, she titled her head the opposite direction. "My father." she paused. "Told me the story of a clumsy looking Growlithe like yours. He was with an officer. And Father had met the man once. Though it was for a brief moment of meeting, Father said the Growlithe sure was a pup and a grand one at that. And the officer took care of said Growlithe quite well. Though I never had a chance to meet him, you and Yero in company seem to fit the bill of the person my father met that day. Do you know a large, fat man by the name of Esteev?" she asked.
Through the whole talk however, Ebba stayed quite, not even giving a reply to Yero. "Sure are quiet there buddy." she said towards him.

"Hear that Yero, you're going to be just fine." Looking over Meeka’s head he stuck his tongue out at Yero who glared back at him. Chuckling he began to inspect the wound, prodding it here and there to make sure there wasn’t any underlying damage. Skillfully he began applying ointment to any abrasions on the wound and wrapping it tightly.
”Esteev…Esteev.” Carter repeated thoughtfully, finishing the final layer and pinning the bandage in place. ”You know, the name sounds familiar but I can’t quite remember…And I’m not an officer anymore, just a plain trainer.” It boggled the ex-officer’s mind that someone all the way out here had heard of Yero and him.
”So Miltank herding huh? Are you from a ranch or something.” Repacking his kit he offered her his hand, ”Here see if you can stand up on it.”
Yero tilted his head with a bit of an attitude. He didn’t look that clumsy did he. He glanced down at his paws and snorted, so what Meeka was right, he could still be a great Growlithe. Bah, whatever, ”Growlie, Growlithe?” or ”Do you ever say anything except no?” He directed his question at Ebba, he had never really met such a quiet pokemon before. He was going to get a conversation out of the Stantler if it killed him.

Meeka yipped slightly when Carter prodded at her wound that was now bandaged neatly. It hurt quite a lot when he poked her skinned area, but she can live with that pain. Meeka tilted her head when she heard him repeat her father's name, and than reached for his hand when offered the help. "Yep and yep!" she said. "I come from around Johto, just outside of Olivine City. Me and my father own and run one of the Moomoo Milk Farms. Tis my job to herd the Milktank and prop them back in the barn. Ebba helped with it too, though he is more lazy now than he was when we first used to herd." Meeka paused for a bit to try and stand. She rested her weight against her leg and winced slightly from the pain. "I can live." she stated before continuing what she was saying. "Father was going to give the ranch to me before he retired, but he sent me here to Zatao. I have no idea why, I think it was to kick me off the ranch. He said that it would be grand for me to have a chance to explore and help him out by looking for a chain person to help him set up a general store here. To him it is always about business, business, business..." By this time however, Meeka noticed she was rambling. Poking her nose up at Carter, she poked his forehead. "How about you?" she asked, "Where is Mister I just a Plain Trainer from?" But as Meeka spoke, she tilted again. Flailing her arms, she fell forward.
Again, Ebba the scarfed Stantler reacted and grabbed the back of her denim overalls. He pulled her back into stance in which she smiled sheepishly.
"Too bad there is no Milktank here." she said. "Or it would be so much easier for me to get around."
Noticing the Growlithe however, he was about to answer in a "No." But if he answered in a no that answered the Growlithe's question. And if he said yes, he would be stating something from his usual no. The Stantler again ignored any remark and moved to the opposite side of his trainer.

Carter winced at her yips giving her a sheepish smile, "Sorry, just standard procedure." His smile faltered as she got up and promptly fell forward again. What exactly had she done to her leg anyway. "Say maybe I do remeber your father, he gave me a sample of his product after I pulled him over." The man hadn't done anything bad really, but again procedures had to be followed and that was what he had done. "Parents, they're all about their businesses. Mine were the same way..."
Repacking the first aid kit he raised one shoulder up in a half shrug. "I lived on Cinnabar Island most of my life, transferred to Cleadon a few years ago. This is the first time I've ever been outside of Kanto. I almost transfered to Johto at one point though, is it nice out there?"
Yero's maw parted in a toothy grin as he followed the Stantler to the otherside of Ebba nipping playfully at his heels, "Grooowlithe Growl? which translated into playful remark, "Fine I'll guess...Meowth got your tounge?"
"Oye Yero, leave that Stantler alone." He fixed his pokemon with a glare but the Growlithe ignored him, Carter was such a stick in the mud sometimes. He would follow the exofficer to the end of the earth and back, but he wasn't too fond of the boy ruining his fun. "Sorry about him, he's rather stubborn." Again he flashed her the sheepish smile, closing up his bag and slinging it back over his shoulder, "Where were you headed anyway?" It was a bit of a change in topic, but he didn't want to hold Meeka up if she had anywhere important to be.

Meeka laughed. "Heh, who wouldn't remember father? He is quite person not to forget." She said. Tilting her head, she smiled again. "So how was the sample?" she said trying to find a reason to gloat. "It was good huh? Best in all of Johto!" she added flicking her thumb up. "Kanto you say?" she said after a pause. "Never been there. Have relatives there though. And Johto is quite good! Good moderate whether like here in Zatoa. Just a lot...a lot more people." She rubbed the area above her wound. She really did a number on her leg.
Ebba cringed every so while when Yero nipped at the deer's heels. He couldn't take it anymore and jolted his back foot a couple of tiems to shoo away the annoying Growlithe.
Nana just made the gesture of a shoo. "It doesn't matter." she said. "Ebba is stubborn too. It is about time he met his stubborn-sided match."
Ebba snorted when he heard this comment and flicked his head the other way.
"Heh, sorry buddy." Meeka said. "But it is the truth." As Meeka reached into her front denim pocket, she checked the time. "Well." she paused. "I was suppose to be going to a breeder's Meet n' Greet, but by the look of the hour, it is already done. But oh no, don't think it was your fault. It was my fault of tripping and bruising this ole leg here. A tit for tat, what I think."
