What is the nature of truth? If somebody believes something with all of their heart, is it the truth? Or is the truth raw scientific fact? FOr example, if I told someone what I knew about a fight or something, and it was what I believed, is it the truth, or what I think is the truth? Or can truth vary with different people? What IS truth? This topic has baffled scientists for years, and so have a go at saying what u think truth is.

Truth is a matter of perception. For example you see one man killing another, without knowing the complete story, you will say that the one man killed killed another. Maybe the killer just defended himself.

Ok, that was a hard sample, but to find the truth you should watch a scene from different angles.

Yes I suppose u have to know everyone's 'truths' before you can get the whole picture, and even then its hard to decide which person is telling the truth. They could be all telling the truth in their eyes, but whether that is the actual truth is another matter. It's so complicated....

I use to say:

Truth is the very first virtual commodity in mankinds history. Also it is bendable. Anyways, you can buy it from others or hire someone to tell the "truth", but that's something dealing with lobbyism.

I'd have to agree with the truth is perception. A person's "truth" is defined by what they receive through their senses. That's why even when there are multiple witnesses to something, they each have a slightly different story. No one's senses are the same. And since we are human beings, we can only define things by our senses. At least that's what I believe.

There are many different truths. There is perceptive truth and absolute truth. Absolute truth is objective, while perceptive truth is subjective.

I would have to disagree about truth being a matter of perception.

In the world we are led to believe that things are a certain way..and thus..regardless of what we perceive when it comes to something..in the end we will all share one truth on what we think is "right."

To explain myself better..I'll use an example. If you saw a man kill another man,the truth would be that the man was a killer..regardless of the perspective..even if in truth he killed in self defense..that won't matter..it doesn't change the fact that he killed someone..in using the truth we know..that man is a murder.Because we know the full story about something..doesn't alternate the truth..nothing changes..at least not when it comes to something like that. There can be many truths in a solution..but in the end..when it comes down to it..people always see the same "truth" by categorizing it on whether it is wrong or right.

To me..there is no truth. When you have a problem..you make up your own truth to find a solution or justify it..it doesn't make it a real truth..if you believe it really hard..it just makes it something you made for your own purpose.Truth is just something we gave a meaning to so that we could find some sense in things.Nothing more, nothing less. That is my opinion however. Not trying to enforce it on anyone else.

There are two types of truths: Absolute truths and personal truths. Absolute truths are unchanging facts that remain as constants in our lives. Personal truthsare not nearly as consistant. These truths are what we know to be true. Personal truth's can be changed when new ideas or evidence is presented.
