Heh. This is for a very specialized HP Fanatic! I loved American Idol this year. In fact, I didn't vote after it reached top 6 because I loved them all. This idea occurred to me because the Idols are now on their summer tour and just played in my home base, San Diego.
I'll start - by sorting David Cook into my House of Ravenclaw. He does cross-word puzzles to relax and his brilliant mind comes up with original arrangements of well-known songs which are great! His eyes sparkle with intelligence, and I love that he's very thoughtful of others!
Here's a treat for the David Archeleta lovers. I won't sort Archie for you-which House do you think he should be in?
From Rickey:
I am so proud of our Archey Reporter mom4david — she was able to upload this video by herself [from last night's San Diego show]! The sound is awesome! David Archuleta rising on the stage with his piano!
(Here is mom4david’s report… and video clip! Good job!)
What an amazing night these Top 10 gave us! To be honest, my husband and I were expecting a couple good performances (the Davids!) and the rest to be pretty mediocre, but we were wrong!
I won’t go over all the details that have been previously reported by others, since the songs, format, even clothing all seem to be the same. I’ll just add a few comments.
By far and away David A. and David C. were the crowd favorites. And well deserved since both of them gave us what we wanted–their heart and soul up there on that stage! Cook is definitely the most comfortable of all the idols on stage, he’s just natural and easy, and seems like he really enjoys every minute of it.
Archey seemed a lot more at ease than he was on the Idol stage, and of course we just hung on every word he said in between songs, and I wish he could have had time to talk more! He was utterly darling, and with experience and maturity he is going to become a phenomenal live performer! You can already see how much he has developed in that way! Watching his interviews, you really see the 17-year-old kid side of him (which we all love!), but on stage it’s hard to believe he is just 17! He’s such a professional, and so GIVING while he sings! You really do FEEL it! That talent he has to somehow convey a depth of emotion, and connection to the audience, (even when there are screaming hoards!) is simply breathtaking. I can’t wait to see his career unfold!
Other thoughts about the night:
We were just blown away at the idea that just a year ago, most of these people had very little experience in mega-performance like this concert, and yet almost all of them were incredibly impressive with their stage presence and performance level! They’ve come a long way!
Second to Cook, Michael Johns seems to have the power to OWN the stage and feel at ease on it. Brooke and Carly seemed to be the crowd faves of the girls, and both gave just amazing performances! Brooke was her usual sort of awkward self, but she’s so REAL that you just can’t help but love her for it! We were probably most surprised by Kristy! She was very dynamic and confident on stage, and we thought sounded better than we had ever heard her on Idol! She was fun. Jason was subdued but adorable, and sang better than ever. Syesha was beautiful and her power voice was in full form. Almost all the Idols interacted with the crowd in some small way, hand-touching, etc.
That’s all for now, but if I think of anything to add I will. Just once more though, I have to say how incredible David Archuleta and David Cook both were! They are worth the price of admission, and with the other 8 in the mix also, it’s just a GREAT show!! I don’t think anyone will be disappointed!
(Unfortunately, when I went to post the video link you tube had pulled it) sad David sang Angels with profound feeling in the most magnificent I've heard him sing, and the sound quality of the video was awesome!
