HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!!
So what does the Fourth of July have to do with marching band????.....usually it means nothing, but in my case it does.
It makes me think so much about our show next year.....our theme is PATRIOTIC!!! We are going to be playing things We're an American Band, God Bless the USA, A marchign version of America.....but I won't officially find out till band camp.....whihc is this month.
So here's one of the most obvious questions you'll find in the marching forum, what's your band's 2008 show theme???
P.S. What's u're instrument???
Marching colorgaurd Concert clarinet and honory frenchhorn/mellophone (that's me for ya!) mrgreen

We're doing The Planets by Gustav Holst. It's amazing! I am an upcoming freshman trumpet.

D: I would hate a patriotic theme.
I'm not sure what we're playing...the opener is an Arabian Waltz, and part two is from The Nutcracker. (When like, one piece of candy was dancing or something, if that helps you realize what it is... xd ) I play the alto sax, but I can also play bari and tenor, and I'm learning Oboe to play in concert band.
(There's already a sticky for the 2008 themes, though.)

Our theme this year is Americana. I also won't have any idea as to what songs until I get to band camp in two weeks. However, since I saw all the papers on the wall that were their ideas... Most of the papers and Dvorak's New World Symphony on them, so that will probably be in the show.

I'd agree with you about the unfair thing more if our band director wasn't leaving. Yay trumpets rule!

I love parades which is ironic considering I hate hot weather.........I live in the south and all our parades are hot............we've done about 14 parades this past marching season and the Chirstmas parades were like in the 80's....but the Mardi Gras ones were like in 90's-low 100's..........it's annoying to have to march in the full band uniform but i don't mind.....parades are always fun to me
