Yes, well... the problem is my mother and myself recently moved in with my grandparents until we can get back on our feet, and so... that meant that our stuff that wasn't terribly necessary, such as furniture, antiques, large pictures, etcetera. were placed into a storage unit. Among all of these packed up items lies my collection of books. I thought I would have had them sooner... but I found out not too long ago that I will not see them until the ending of August, at the earliest. It could take months!
So, naturally I am distraught and haven't the slightest idea how to make up for the lost time. In my case, I tend to reread a series until I practically know every characters lines, and so far, I've done that five times with the Twilight series. I leech books from my friends, but it just doesn't help.
It's like a part of me is missing.
What I'd like to know is if anybody else has had to go through an extended amount of time without their books, and how did you cope with it?
Oh, by the way... I have tried my public library, but what they have in stock is nothing of what I like. I'm dying here. T__T

I'm so sorry to hear that. cry
I wonder, does your public library allow inter-library loans? You may be able to request books from other libraries. If not, do you have any friends nearby? Perhaps you could simply borrow some.
If all else fails, you could simply try reading what the library has. You never know - you may acquire an interest in what they have. Non-fiction is always a good back-up for me personally.
I hope your living situation works out in every aspect, but I especially hope you can get your books back soon.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your current circumstances... It just isn't the same having to borrow books from friends.. that I understand. I hope the days speed up for you so you can get your books sooner. Or... that you meet someone who will have fantastic books for you to read or keep. :[ Good luck.

@ Fairgrass :: The library does allow that, and I do think they can find books if you specifically order them. Sad thing is, I don't have many authors that I read from. Mainly Stephen King, Stephenie Meyer, Anne Rice and recently I took up Christopher Paolini, before Eragon ever became popular.
@ Heavenly :: Thanks =] Actually... I think I may have solved my book problem. Today I went with my boyfriend to a used book store, and it was amazing. I would live there if it were possible. The used books were kept in extrememly good condition, and there are a lot of titles I know, so I had a field day.
I just bought the Bartimaus Trilogy today in a hard back set that was unopened. Normally it would have cost like 50 dollars, but I paid 21 bucks! That was so amazing. I just hope the books are worth it, but I think they will be. ^^

I'm sorry to hear you've been separated from your books. Best of wishes to you and your mother, though!
As much as libraries make me cringe, I think it's your best bet for the time being, but I also understand it's not the same as seeing YOUR books on YOUR shelf. I swear I go through withdrawal when I'm at university and away from my ceiling to floor bookshelf.
Again, best wishes! And let us know when you get your books back!

Thanks for the good wishes, it really helps! So far, I have a stack of books waiting for me to read, so at least I won't have to worry for a few weeks. ^^
