I used to watch one piece quite a bit.
I know it was about pirates and this kid wanted to be the best pirate around. And, there was this competition to get the greatest of all pirate treasure called the One-Piece.
The kid and his crew ran into all sorts of trouble and there were quite a few rookie pirates out there, but no one could beat this kid and his crew.
Personally, I liked Zatch Bell a lot better. These kids knowing spells and in order to stay, they must defeat and kill other kids of their kind.
It was of similar concept to dinosaur king where who is going to be the best dinosaur trainer around. No, wait, Dinosaur King is a slightly different show. There was a show with the word "King" in it...
Ah! Now I remember! Shaman King!
Dinosaur King is about these three kids training digital dinosaurs that come to life from trading cards. It combines the idea of Yu-Gi-Oh with the dueling card idea with actual legend of dinosaurs.
Yu-Gi-Oh, as a show goes more along the lines of Egypt and what they believed in and combined it with the technologies that Japan has to offer and the concepts that the Japanese believed in. (No one really gets that but me)
I guess you could say I study anime shows like it was a religion or something. Tee hee hee, Animology - the study of Japanese anime shows and the hidden meanings behind the stories.
