Greetings RPers!

TOO is also pleased to present our first-ever RP Prompt contest as a part of our Disney Event. There were lots of eager lurkers and chatters in the event who were unable to participate in many of the auctions, so to wrap up the event, TOO is offering two more chances for a shot at a free custom Disney pet!

The aim of this contest is to respond to one of the following RP prompts with a bit of creative storytelling. Couldn't be simpler, right?

Opens: Thursday July 3rd, when the GO! is posted.
Closes: Saturday July 5th Sunday July 6th at the end of the event. I'll post closed when it's done.

Rules
  • You must respond to one of the prompts; no makin' up your own stuff.
  • You can only respond to one of the two prompts, not both.
  • You can edit up until the contest closes.
  • Post your response in this thread.
  • Spelling and grammar don't count BUT I need to be able to understand what you're writing to judge it. >_> I wouldn't write in chatspeak if I were you.
  • To enter, you must have at least 1,000 posts made on your account; no mules. If you're on a new account due to a hack/ban/etc, post the name of your old main account with your entry.
  • If you have any questions, post them here or in the event thread.

Prize
One custom Disney-related pet of the winner's choosing.

FAQ
  • Can we respond to both prompts?
~ A. Nope. You have to pick one and go with it! You're welcome to edit up until the contest closes, however, so if you don't like what you have at first you can change it up as long as you don't run out of time.
  • 1st person or 3rd person?
~ A. I don't care. Just try not to switch back and forth.
  • Can we make our RP character a Disney character? Say, can I respond to prompt one as Cinderella?
    ~ A. Sure. ^__^
  • Can we god-mod NPC characters?
~ A. Go for it. You can take whatever creative license you'd like.
  • How long does it have to be? Is there a word limit?
~ A. It can be as long or as short as you need to tell your story.

~ The Prompts ~

Prompt One

Belle and Beast are having a party! They're bored with formal dances, though, so this party is going to be a picnic. What's more - everyone has to bring a dish with them. It's a princess potluck. (That lazy Belle; she has all that staff and she's makin' her guests bring the food! XD) Tell me what you wear, and what food you bring. What happens at the party? Who do you talk to and sit with? Who do you dance with? What's the big gossip from the party? How does the night end? I want details!

Prompt Two

Use an otter or predator you already own (or, if you don't have one, use a human character you make up). Your character finds Tinkerbell's wand lying by a rock on the otter reserve. Describe how they react when they find it, and what they do with it. Do they use it to help others, or to help themselves? Does Tinkerbell come looking for it? Does Captain Hook come looking for it? Someone else? The suspense is killing me!

Prompt 2
Indigo-Otter oasis
Blue-Alice in wonderland
Grey-Dumbo
Orange-The Adventures Of Ichabod and mister todd. (Headless horseman)
Dark red-Kingdom hearts

Aoi pattered around his wings tucked to his side safely. Again he had wondered off to go exploring, nothing held him with the rest of the otters. He had no real family tie and no other sort of ties there so he was free to do as he pleased with no real thought to anyone else. He a stopped suddenly as something caught his eyes; it was a shiny and pretty but quiet small. Walking up to it he carefully sniffed it before reaching out a paw and batting it then jumping back. After nothing happened he carefully picked it up, it had been hardly bigger then one of his fang teeth, but when he picked it up it grew in size until it was perfect for him to hold.

The stick thing was brown and curvy, with a small green star on the top; a few streams of some sort of string fell from it as well. Aoi stared at it blankly before sitting down his ears tilting back as he looked at the stick thing up and down. Agitated that he found nothing interesting about it, he shook it briskly only to yelp and drop it as blue sparks came out. “Ok, either I broke it, or it’s supposed to do that.” He picked the thing back up and again found himself looking at it before sudden realization hit him. “Oh, I found a wand.” Still it took him awhile to know what he said and when he did his mouth fell open and his eyes widen.

He looked at the Wand and for a minute he thought about putting it back, but the chance to play with it held fast so again he shook it briskly watching more sparks come flying out of the end. They were not hot, but pretty cold like snowflakes. He tried to think of how to cast a spell but nothing interesting really came to mind at all, in fact the only thing he could think of to do with it was make those funny little sparks. Still sitting he let the wand be wrapped around by his tail; it was easier to hold that way he thought. He shook his tail and smiled joyfully when sparks came out again, this time they were bigger and lit all around him before blinking out.

He looked around for anyone who might own it, but he saw no one at all, this made his frown a bit as normally there was someone or something near. Aoi did not notice the single red eye watching him carefully, nor did he notice that the wand in his hand was getting warm and humming. He shook the thing again but this time he did swirls and twists, however he had barely enough time to make a single sound before a hole opened behind him and he fell through tumbling down a long tunnel until with a thump he fell to the ground.

The first thing he noticed when he opened his eyes. Was that he was not where he had been; instead he was standing on some path with little arrows flashing here and there. Now, the second thing he noticed with some mortification; was that he was wearing a blue and white dress. Staring wide eyed at himself he opened his mouth and screamed, the arrows all jumped one or two running away making the place even more dark then before. Now you might be asking, why he screamed, well the simple fact would be, he woke up in some funny place wearing a dress! Would you not have freaked out at all?

Aoi took a deep calming breath before looking around in search for the wand; after all if it got him here it could get him out right? “Where are you, I just had it before I fell.” It was like he searched forever, but there was no sight of the magic wand, he so knew it was real now. Trying to keep calm he started following the arrows, before long he started to hear someone singing, this made him brighten up so he quickly walked forward, trying to keep from tripping over the strange dress the best he could.

He came to a gate and saw a long table stretched out with many upon many teacups lining the whole thing as well as pots of what he guessed would be sugar and cream. For a second he didn’t enter but after more singing started he slipped open the gate and walked in, only to see two things he had never even seen before. One was a rabbit, but it wore clothing and a hat, it was also singing! The other thing he couldn’t start to know what it was. He walked up to the two and jumped as they both glared at him, even a mouse did, after peeking its head out from one of the glass pots.

“Um, do any of you know where this is?” The rabbit thing looked at him his nose twitching and moving so much Aoi was sure his neck would hurt from the force. “Here, here is here of course!” Aoi brow furrowed as this was not the answer he wanted, he wasn’t even sure if it was an answer or not! “Yes well, how do I get out of here?” After he said this the two jumped up yelling madly, a few cups came flying toward Aoi and he quickly ducked them and ran escaping out of the gate. No sooner did the gates door close did he hear them start to sing again. “They are mad, horribly mad!” His eyes were wide and he was having trouble not shaking.

He turned to walk away but a smooth voice stopped him and he looked back behind his shoulder to see, jumping as he came face to face with a pink and purple stripped bobcat! “Come now, not that scary.” Aoi stared open mouthed at it, but when he was glared at he snapped his mouth shut quickly. “That’s a rude and horrible habit, but I agree they are mad.” Aoi nodded slowly, green eyes watching the bob cat carefully. “Yea, staring with an open mouth is a bad habit.” The cat laughed heartedly, “No it’s rude to say someone is mad.” Aoi looked at the bobcat who simply smiled as it lounged on the fence so easily. “I know where here is, it’s the hatters walk.”

Aoi nodded quickly a smile coming to his face his ears perking up excitedly. “OK, how do I get out of here, and have you seen a wand?” The bobcat watched him with gold eyes that made Aoi shiver, the fur along his back sticking up ever so slightly. “Yes oh yes, out is out, I saw the wand in the queens hand, very happy about that.” Aoi’s eyes widened as he thought about what would happen if he could not get that wand back, he would never get home. “Ok, show me out.” The bobcat seemed to glow from the smile it had, but a flick of its tail made a path show and Aoi could see the sun shining on grass at the other side.

“Thank you, bye-bye now.” Aoi didn’t see the Bobcat as it turned and with a somehow overly large paw, smacked some black thing with a glowing red eye. “You go away, horrible thing.” That said the cat disappeared leaving not a single trace that it was ever there. Aoi mean while, was just stepping out into the sun, when all of a sudden a walking card with a paint bucket came running by saying something about painting roses red. Yes, this whole place was mad and crazy; he wanted to go home and now. All of a sudden some woman was yelling and Aoi saw sparks go ever where some hitting the card things making them yelp and run around.

“Who painted the roses red!?” A large woman came bustling out the wand in hand as well as something that was gold with a heart on the end. The cards all made a line, the woman went down the line checking hands, when she came to one with paint she screamed off with his head and other cards dragged that one away. Aoi stood wide eyes up at what the cards were mumbling was the queen. He opened his mouth to talk when suddenly something wet was dropped down on him, something wet and red.

The queen turned toward him her face growing bright red as if she was furious, and Aoi was more than sure she was. “Off with his head!” Aoi meeped before running away from the advancing cards, even the red ones were after him perhaps to get on the queens good side, but Aoi doubted this would help any of them. Sparks whizzed by his ear and he turned his head to see the queen still with the wand. Suddenly he saw the rabbit person from before, and the other strange hat wearing thing, they too were chasing after him. He really needed to get a hold of that wand!

Taking a deep breath Aoi turned and charged at them his wings opened, just as he was about to leap in the air his foot caught on the dress and he stumbled forward, landing right on the fat form of the queen. Before anything else happened he quickly took the wand from her and waved it wildly so that sparks shot out every which way. Just as everyone was about to jump him he felt himself falling through another tunnel, he hoped it was back home.

As the tunnel came to an end he smelled fire, no he saw a ring of fire. He landed on some plat form with a thump, then he noticed what he wore had changed again. He wore a diaper a baby hat, and for some reason instead of the wand, there was a rattle in his mouth. There were bright lights in his eyes making hi m blink owlishly at the slight stinging pain from it. “Ladies and gentle man, witness the amazing jumping otter, which will now jump from fifty stories high!” Aoi gaped much like a fish, the rattle falling from his mouth to smash open as it hit the ground.

That was funny, they wanted him to jump, and no way would he do such a thing nope not ever! A sudden sharp pain from behind made him yelp and run forward, forgetting he had wings on his back he tumbled off the landing spiraling down, down into to hit a white round thing strangely dressed people held. As he hit and went through into a tub of cream, he knew for sure this was not his home, and that once more the wand was lost.

Part B!

Humans, he knew now the things bustling about were humans. He understood next to nothing that was happening, he was put into a cage with straw in it, and then left alone with cream hardening on him. He had to find that wand; he wanted even more to go home, to leave this horrible place. A small shuffling sound started up before suddenly there was mouse wearing clothing staring at him, smiling like that mad rabbit from before. “Hello there how was the first big day?” yes Aoi was sure every person he had met was mad in some way, this mouse to seemed deranged.

“Oh well, if you like getting forced to jump from his places that are burning, just great!” The sarcasm made the mouse look at him in surprise before tottering off that he should be happy for the job. “You’re lucky they didn’t just toss you, at least this way your feed and kept safe.” Oh yea, so safe, Aoi didn’t say anything and soon the mouse left huffing about people who were ungrateful and rude. Again Aoi was left to his thoughts alone in the night, but a sudden laughing made him look up again to see the purple pink bobcat.

“Well hello there little otter, lost it again I see yup.” Aoi glared but said nothing as the bobcats laugh grated on his nerves. “This time the ring master has it, next show fly and grab it!” It said it in a way that made it sound so easy, at least now he did know where the wand was. “Now now no pouting must get home yes to home!” Aoi opened his mouth to ask how it knew that but already the bobcat had gone away. “Really where do you keep coming from!” He huffed for a minute before curling up and trying to get some sleep. He was horribly tired and felt like he had been dragged over the world, oh wait he has been!

He was waken up rudely by someone picking him up by the scruff of his neck, growling he took a swipe at the hand but was shaken roughly and a few angry noises came from the humans mouth. Once more he found himself being dressed in a baby suite, how he knew it was for babies he could only guess, but he had a slight memory of seeing one when reaching the edge of the reserve. The clown human again picked him up and started up a very large ladder until again he was standing on the plat form. More humans started to fill in and Aoi knew from the sudden heat and smell that the fake building again was lit of fire.

He was too busy searching for the wand to notice that once more a red eye was looking at him angrily, trying to hurt him somehow like it did with a bucket of paint. Finally he saw a fat short human walk in, spouting about who knows what. In his hand was the wand, he was using it to point to things so Aoi guessed he knew nothing of what he held. Just as before there was a sharp pain at his back side and once more he jumped, this time opening golden wings.

He struggled to get air enough to pull up, he came very close to hitting the ground but suddenly he pulled up his wings beating quickly. He looked around, people were screaming some seemed to be gawking like turkeys, but his eyes fell on the wand and he dived forward. The man brought out a whip and aimed it at him, but he swerved just in time, and with luck, he felt the wand inside his paws and he grabbed it. He had no time to stop and more people tried to grab a hold of him to stop him, not about to let that happen he quickly shook the wand over and over until sparks started and just like the other two times, he was sucked into a dark tunnel where he fell.

It was awhile before Aoi woke this time, really how much could someone land on their heads before something bad happened?! He looked around himself and found he was sitting in a forest; it was quiet windy out and very dark, not the safest place to be eh thought. The sudden clip clop sound of hooves made him look up to see such a very strange sight. He thought it was a horse or at least was, it was skinny and old looking, but on its back sat an even stranger sight. A man who was impossibly thin, like he never ate anything in his whole life. The man was shaking and kept jumping at the slightest sound Aoi wondered if he was ok but didn’t bother to ask, not like he could speak human to start with.

Suddenly another sounded through the forest, another set of hooves but these struck the ground like thunder making Aoi shiver. Aoi quickly got up behind the man who jumped a mile high when he saw him; Aoi was looking behind however, a man riding a black horse raced toward them at a speed that was dangerous through a forest with roots that could trip waiting feet. However the man got closer and Aoi say something he wished he hadn’t, there was no head. The man yowled like a wounded animal, kicking the old horse forward as they quickly ran.

Aoi still stared behind them and noticed that the headless rider was holding a pumpkin light up like with a candle, but instead of a candle Aoi spotted the wand, such a good place for it to! I mean, what better then to have his way home in the hands of a headless human, he was pretty sure that was a very bad thing. The old horse ran on, a few times a sword came close to taking the pole of a man’s head but he somehow twisted out of the way yowling still like a wounded animal. Then again, Aoi was about to scream soon as the headless rider laughed hauntingly.

As they neared the bridge the thin man seemed happy and sped the horse still faster, the poor old thing was gasping for breath and sweating already. As the first hoof struck the bridge the headless rider threw the pumpkin missing them, but Aoi saw the wand land with a clatter just before the bridge. Not thinking twice he jumped for the horse and ran forward snatching the wand from the ground before looking up only to feel his ears fall as the headless rider was closing on him fast. Quickly he started to shake the wand and just in time he was taken into another tunnel, but a hoof kicked into it Aoi heard a snap like sound. Not good.

Part C

Aoi felt himself be tugged back and forth, hitting walls and grounds getting battered and bruised, so much so that when everything finally stopped, he slumped forward and just lay on the ground trying to breath and not freak out. There was the sound of water and the sharp smell of salt was strong and sharp. Slowly green eyes opened to look out around him, seeing sand and water everywhere. He realized he was on a beach, off in the distance there was a ship, it was docked to some pier safely so Aoi guessed people were on the land. He stepped forward and looked down to see what he just stepped on, only to see the wand broken in half.

Eye widening he grabbed the pieces and tried to put them together, when they simply fell apart after he let go he gave up, after trying a few dozen times. He slumped down again staring at the broke wand, knowing he had no way home now. For awhile all he did was stare at the wand, he didn’t notice that red eye, or people sneaking up on him with nets. Suddenly the heavy things were thrown over him and he was bundled up inside them. “You were right Doris, he did have that horrible fairies wand, but it’s broken.” Aoi listed to beeps and strange sound but the man in red nodded happily. “Yes I guess it can be fixed, ok lads take the otter.”

He was bustled to the ship forcefully, but he eyes everything looking at the people from the guy with a hook for a hand, to the hat thing named Doris. Again he was in an unknown place, not safe at all, but this time he had been captured. Just as he thought that he was shoved into what he was pretty sure, was a bird cage. The cage was taken from the hook and set on the table with a clank sound of metal, though the sound was made from his head hitting the cage rather than the table. Beside him he saw a bottle, a tapping sound made him look there, and inside it was a small otter fairy wearing a green dress.

“See Tink, we got your wand back, but now it’s ours. Doris said she can fix it with time. Just think; it’s all thanks to this little otter that found it and waved it about.” Aoi looked to the little fairy that was shaking her head with enough force for whip lash. “Oh yes, now when it’s fixed peter will die as well as Wendy!” Captain hook laughed as he exited the room, his good hand holding the wand pieces carefully. A frantic tapping got Aoi’s attention and he turned to look a Tink who pointed to his tail and herself in quick successions. Getting the idea, Aoi pushed his tail through the bars before hitting the bottle and sending it tumbling.

Lucky for them both, Tink caught the bottle before it could crash onto the ground. “Good catch, wow you are really fast!” Tink glared at him before going to his cage and undoing the latch. No sooner had Aoi stepped out that he was hit on the back of his head by a not so happy Fairy. “Ok, sorry, but if you hadn’t lost it I would have never of found it!” Tink glared at him more before a sigh came and she shrugged in a half way agreement. “Come on, we can get it back right, then it can be fixed and I can go home!” Oh how much he wanted to go home, he was hungry and hurt, and scared out of his mind by all the mad people.

Tink nodded before fluttering over to the door Hook went through, she turned and looked at Aoi after seeing he hadn’t followed she rolled her eyes and motioned him forward. “Ok, how about I try to get it first, you go get help ok?” Tink seemed to think of it before nodding and flying to a window that was cracked open. It was a tight fit even for her but soon she escaped outside and dashed off, gold like dust following her in trails as ever wing beat brought out pixie dust.

Aoi’s ears twitched as he turned back to look at the door, there was no sound inside of it some he assumed there was no problem going in. Jumping up, he moved his paws so as he fell it pushed the handle down and opened the door. The sound of it opening was horribly loud to him, like dropping a metal bowl full of keys on a hard ground. Horribly loud even though truthfully it was pretty quiet. He snuck forward and carefully weaved his way around the room; finally he reached a window where he peeked out of it to see the hat thing busily working on the wand.

He felt his wings ruffle unhappily as he saw the thing keeping him here, he wanted home and no strange hat was going to stop him. He was about to bash through the window when shouts from above made him freeze. The hat thing also topped working and soon went speeding toward a set of stairs that lead up. Aoi watched until Doris was fully gone before he went to the door and repeated what he did to the other one. Quickly he ran toward the wand and scooped it up in his mouth, he looked around and saw no other way out of the room then to go upstairs following the thing from before.

More shouts and screams were heard, and Aoi swore he heard ticking sounds, also a zap like sound came and not knowing what else to do, Aoi went up stairs. He noticed was that there were a lot of people, next thing he saw was a bright red thing, and it looked like a big toy spaceship or something. He heard a rooster crow as a boy pulled Hook up in the air; looking at the water Aoi saw a crocodile snapping and happily waiting for the boy to drop Hook. More fighting went on and the boy in green simply let go of hook who same so fast he could make an otter happy!

Soon things settled down, and a blond haired man held the hat thing Doris before he walked to the toy ship and went in it, then with another crack like sound he was gone. Tink was the first to come besides holding her hand out while tapping her foot in the air. Realizing what she wanted he dropped the wand glad he hadn’t slobbered on it. He watched amazed as Tink picked up the wand and it shrunk to fit her again, at her touches the wand glowed gold before the light faded and a new looking wand was in the fairs hand.

“That is so neat!” Aoi’s tail swished back and forth as he eyed the wand remembering again he wanted to go home. As if sensing his wish Tink nodded and raised the wand before flicking it here and there. Before the tunnel got him he saw the bobcat smiling and waving goodbye, as well as Tink and that boy who made another call like a rooster.
Aoi could only smile happily before he was swallowed by the tunnel, he landed easily but when he opened his eyes, he was so not home. Little skittering black things with yellow eyes watched him; some moved into the floor and moved toward him. He opened his mouth and screamed.

That world disappeared and he found himself looking at home, taking a deep calming breath he looked at himself and wondered if that had been a dream or real. He stood up and stretched, but stopped in the middle of doing so as he watched a white rabbit run past him saying something about being late. With large eyes he turned away from it and just started walking, he was going back to the rest of the otters; he had enough adventure to last a life time and more.

He didn’t see the grinning bobcat watching him with pure glee, a slight mad gleam in its eyes.

***
Thump.
"Cheeky little minx! Stop messing with those carpets and get over here."
Whack-Thump.
"Now look what you made me do. Don't cry! I'll get a new vase, I promise."
Whum-THUD.

He sat up with a start, blinking his dark eyes sleepily at his small, dim room from where he sat on the floor, tangled in his patchwork blanket. Why was it that he ALWAYS ended up on the floor when he woke up?!
He laid back on the cool floor and found that he had accidently whacked over a cup in his sleep, chipping a bit more out of the rim, and hurting his head when he attempted to use it as a pillow. He rolled over and lay on his face, his long nose squashed awkwardly against the stone floor.
"Wake up wake up wake up! Time to get up and go to the picnic!" he heard and looked up, bewildered at the words spilling from his high-pitched companion. Picnic? Picnic! That's right! There was a picnic today and he needed to get dressed and there would be free food and- Wait... He sat up again and peered at the invitation sitting on his desk, nose resting on the marred wood surface.

"Bring a dish... I need to make food? Maybe I'll just stay-"
"Nonono! You're getting up and finishing those puffs you started making yesterday, remember?" He blinked and yesterday came back to him. Oh, that was right, he HAD started making creme puffs the day before. He just needed to put creme and puffs together. His hand ran through his thin dark hair, all long thin fingers and rough from the callouses from many hard days' wor- Okay, more so from weapon training as a youth. He heaved himself up and shuffled out of his room, pushing aside the curtain that formed the door to his room. He stumbled a bit on a stone that had risen a bit out of the worn floor and caught himself on the old ice-box that suited as his refrigerator. He opened it and removed two items. One was a jug of water and the other was the creme.

***
He arrived at the picnic after most everyone else had arrived, mostly because he had to walk. He had wrapped the treats in a lovely gold and purple, albeit old, box and set it on the table with the rest of the deserts, opening the top of the box so that the other guests could see the delicate treats and enjoy.
He had dressed in slacks so dark purple they were almost black and a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows in a very, very washed out gold. And of course a wide-brimmed hat of the color of his slacks with a fluffy gold feather tucked into it and a small gold hoop through his left earlobe. In truth, it was his best outfit. His profession didn't call for very formal or fancy clothes. Bright was a different story, though. The outfit he wore also happened to be his least ZOMG! Bright! outfit. He figured he was there for a party, so casual was the way to go instead of his normal wear.
He surveyed the other guests and immediately spotted a lovely little wallflower, her short blond hair as crisp and neat as the soft-looking blue and white dress she wore. He approached her carefully and put on the charm as he asked her to dance. Despite her somewhat ridged personality, she accepted, because, honestly, who could turn down a king, even one such as himself?

They danced for a while to the music, talking idly about affairs in the Prince's household, how his people faired, mature topics like that. He had partly wanted to bring up some recent gossip, but she seemed more interested in more intelligent conversation, and he was intent on keeping her attention. He was right in the middle of twirling the serious angel and asking her what she thought of some situation between the fairies when a commotion broke out near the drink table. Apparently one of the no-so-nice queens or whatever had shown up and had attempted to "spike" the punch... or something like that. Angelique frowned and he studied her for a moment before sighing.
"I'll see what I can do, hmm?" he asked and she shrugged in a rather dainty, ladylike fashion.
"You don't have to," she replied, her accent complimenting his. "I think they have everything under control."
He stroked his chin thoughtfully, fingers running over the beard there before gesturing to an empty tree.
"Perhaps, then, we could-" he began, but was cut off when a timid man with poofy brown hair and a rather large nose stepped in.
"Excuse me, b-but may I have a dance?" the musician questioned, taking the maid's hand. She smiled fondly and looked from the newcomer to her current partner.

He shrugged and stepped back, his arms spread wide in defeat.
"By all means," he replied and retreated to the tree he had pointed out earlier, sitting beneath it and stretching one of his long legs out in front of him, letting the other one bend enough so that he could rest his arm across the kneecap.
"Here mate, take yer mind off it," he heard and glanced over to see a familiar pirate also sitting with his back to the tree and holding out an unmarked bottle. He smiled that broken smile of his and took the bottle, taking a nice pull from it before handing it back.
"Thanks," he replied and then returned to his silence while Jack return to his drinking. He considered feeling sad for leaving his closest friend at home, but then it was probably for the best. They'd probably just get to arguing and then where would he be? Well, maybe sitting around drinking with Captain Sparrow wasn't much better.

***
He stayed around a little longer to drink and chat with Jack a bit about work and women before leaving the picnic, empty-handed and alone. He walked down the road, his dark boots making soft thuds as he played with the dagger he kept in one boot. He tossed it and flipped it as he walked through the trees and then sheathed it before he proceeded down the stone steps towards his quarters. He was met by a couple of hellos from a few of his neighbors who were still awake at that hour and returned with greetings of his own before retiring. He was stretching as he walked from his living-room and kitchen into his bedroom, pushing aside the curtain and stopped.
"Look who came to visit!" his friend cried and giggled, gesturing to the young, dark-haired woman reclining back against his pillows. She smiled at him and he smiled back, offering her a hand as his friend retired to his own quarters. The young woman's dark eyes were soft as she rose and took his hand, letting him pull her close and slowly dance her around the room.
"You were gone all day. So I decided to take a nap and wait for you," she informed him and he dipped her low before pulling her up again and spinning her around, her skirts swishing.
"Ah, if I had known you would be here, I wouldn't have gone, my little song," he replied grinning. And so they danced.

He vowed to take her with next time. Or maybe just not go at all, if the company at home was this good.

Prompt 2

Swimming this way and that Jewel swam through the reeds enjoying the water as it rushed over her white and black specked body, or was it a black body with white splotches. Jewel could never figure that out no matter how often she glanced back at her body. As she swam further downstream she found a small trail of what looked like glitter floating gracefully down onto the bottom from above. Following the trail of shiny substance she swam toward the surface and saw what looked like to be a shiny stick lying beside an even larger rock then the ones surrounding it.

“Oh, that is a shiny stick,” thought Jewel as her curiosity overwhelmed her and she approached the stick and sniffed at it. “I wonder why it is so shiny.”

After a few moments she didn’t seem to find anything wrong with except for the few sneezes it caused her to have. Picking it up, and began to bound away from the stream and into some nearby trees. As she ran with it she couldn’t help but keep looking back at the trail of glitter it left behind her. Stopping every now and then she would turn around and bound through it pretending that she was soaring through an infinite space.

Each and every time she ran through the glitter she couldn’t help but think of all her friends and how they must wish they could see and try out a pretty site. Running playfully toward some other otters she waved the wand around them scattering the glitter like particles. Watching their reactions she couldn’t help, but feel so happy. Probably the happiest she had ever. Opening her eyes again to look at the happiness on the other otters she saw that she was no longer on the ground and that she was floating above them.

Looking down at the other otters she heard one squeak “that isn’t any old glitter, that’s pixie dust,” and watched as each one rose around her and began to soar like, well eagles.

***~~~~~~***
A few days had passed since Jewel and found the shiny stick, now dubbed the shiny stick that makes one fly. Lopping happily through a few trees she sprinkled more behind her in hopes that maybe another otter would find the pixie dust and roll in. She didn’t forget to sprinkle it on all the other otters she passed though.

As she sprinkled the dust on another flower she saw a small light dash in front of her face and then felt a small ump as something hit the side of her head. Turning suddenly in the direction the object would have come she glanced around until she spotted what had hit her. On the ground next to her paw laid sprawled was a small fairy otter. Sitting down Jewel stuck her paw out and poked at the small fairy to make sure it was really and that she hadn’t beed dreaming. When poked though the small fairy didn’t seem to like it and stood back up on her paws and began to shake her fists and feet at her causing a weird jingling to be admitted.

After a few moments Jewel figured out that the fairy had been fussing at her for poking her, and tried to apologize making amends for what she had done. “I’m sorry for poking you,” Jewel said as she sat down. “I am truly sorry.”

The fairy didn’t seem to take her apologize sincerely and continued to through a fuss. Watching the fairy continue her fussing Jewel began to feel uncomfortable which caused her to run from the fairy. As she ran from the fairy she didn’t pay quite a lot of attention to where she was going and the next thing she knew…WHACK! She had run into someone.

Looking up Jewel let out a little meep as she looked into the eyes of a pirate looking otter. “Good evening child,” the otter spoke as one of his paws scraped against the ground.

“Hello, there. I am very sorry I ran into, but you see this fairy otter is throwing a fuss and I think she is still following me,” explained Jewel as her paw fidgeted with the wand.

“That’s okay. I can forgive you if you give me that wand though,” the pirate spoke again.

“No way Jose,” said Jewel as she backed away from the pirate. “I like making people happy with it.”

“Really. So do I,” the pirate replied through a large grin. “The name is Capt. Hook and I just love helping others. And if you hand over the wand I’ll be sure to make sure others enjoy it too.”

“No, that is okay. I should be going anyway. Nice to meet you,” Jewel said as she quickly turned around and darted for the river.

Diving in she hoped that she could out swim the larger otter, but just as she thought she got some distance she Hook dive in not to far away. Swimming as fast as she could she tried to get away from Hook, but each time she looked back he seemed to be getting closer. Just as she though he would catch her se heard a ticking noise from up ahead and just as she was about to dart to the edge she saw a green blur go by and saw Hook turn tail and swim back up stream.

When Jewel had pulled her back out of the stream the little fairy was waiting for her and began to fuss again, but this time she tried to yank the wand from Jewel’s paw. “So, that was all you wanted was it. Was your wand back,” said Jewel as she released the grip on the wand. “Sorry, I was taking away from you spreading happiness. I can guarantee though I was helping you out with that though.”

Gripping her wand in her hand the fairy began to fly again over Jewel shaking more pixie dust over her. Jewel figure this was the fairy’s way of thanking her, and that was with one last flight.

Prompt #1

((Kudos to my mom, who is a huge Disney fan and who gave me the idea for this))

Chip the teacup was not very happy. Oh, he was in the middle of a party and that he liked. All the people wandering around and talking and laughing and having fun! That was awesome! And there was all sorts of food on the table where he was sitting. Apparently it was called a “potluck” which means that all the guests that Belle and Beast invited were supposed to bring with them some kind of food that they liked.

That was wicked awesome! It meant that everyone had to try something new for lunch and that all the princess could share their favorite dish with all their friends. It also meant that the princesses that had some culinary skills could share their talents with their friends too. Chip had already heard many other princesses question Cinderella about how to make her chicken casserole, which was the hit of the party. Cindy was glowing with pride and happily basking in the attention.

And there was music! Lots and lots of music of all different kinds! There were people dancing all across the lawn and Chip could see Belle trying to convince Beast that yes, he did need to dance with her or she’d be sad. And poor Beast didn’t stand a chance against Belle normally, but especially not when she was pouting at him. The music was catchy and bouncy and made Chip want to dance and he was just a teacup!

But this party wasn’t all fun and games. At least, not for Belle’s magical staff. Chip’s mom, Mrs. Potts, was trying to keep the long picnic table as clean as possible and keep all the dishes full. Everything food related was delegated to Mrs. Potts and Lumière was in charge of the music being played and Cogsworth was trying his hardest to keep everything organized. It was funny watching him run about in a panic, especially because since he was just an enchanted clock, he was stuck on the picnic table with the rest of them.

All in all, it was a great party. Everyone was happy and laughing and having a good time. Everything was running well and there were only a few small problems that were quickly overcome. So Chip should have been the happiest little teacup on the table (and believe him, there were a bunch of teacups on the table since all his brothers and sisters had been recruited to help). But… Couldn’t they have found someone else to hold the pickles for the sammiches?
