Sorry if this has been repeated I tried looking to see but have not found one like it.

On to where the spoilers come in, I am not white walling it cause its to much.

So after watching all the rest and catching up with England on youtube one thing that has bothered me about DT regen is that could he possible regen back in to DT? What I mean to say is remember the episode with his daughter? I mean how is possible that she could regenerate back into her same self should the doctor not also be able to do that? I think the point here is that I am a little confused. Because if Jenny was shot and the Doctor was shot could he not regen back to the same person? Anyways, once again I am sorry if this is a repeat I have not been looking in the guild due to the fact my English friend warned me to stay away from all Doctor Who things till I got caught up.

Since this is about the doctor regenerating and not any one specific incarnation of him, season, or episode.. you shall pass.

Anyways back to the topic at hand. The doctor has been shot before. Thats how the seventh doctor becomes the eight as seen here. It might have been a terrible movie but it is in continuity. The thing is its been stated before that time lords have some control over their regeneration. Romana chose to take the form of the princess of Tara when she regenerated. Jenny, not having known this, probably just went to default. Also, it has been noted that there is a difference between Timelords and Gallyfreyans. Although they both do regenerate, it is the upper class and those who have gone to the academy that get the full 13 incarnations, granted to them by the high council of Gallyfrey (the doctor is both, upper class and a graduate).

I'd be surprised if he does regenerate properly, to be completely honest.

It was established in the last series that Time Lords are able to have a tiny bit of control over their regenerations (the Master refusing to regenerate).

However, the Doctor has been hit by a Dalek twice before, according to the BBC website...

BBC Doctor Who website factfile
Zapped!
Despite their many encounters, the Doctor's only been shot by a Dalek twice before: in 1973's Planet of the Daleks (when a Dalek deliberately disabled the Third Doctor by zapping his legs) and in 1975's Genesis of the Daleks, when, just prior to blowing up the Daleks' incubation room, the Fourth Doctor received a glancing blow to his hand from a Dalek ray.

Neither of these resulted in a regeneration, so I'm hoping it's just one to heal, as Jenny's seemed to be, and not a full regeneration.

i think....that he regeneration stops half way. or something. because it's pretty well known that DT isn't leaving the show yet.

BUT YOU KNOW i guess we'll have to wait until Sat for some kind of magical explanation of this all!

My theory is that somthing is going to get in the way of the regeneration either to do with the hand or Donna that some how cancels the regenertion out b/c let us face it this is Doctor Who! A show not best known for keeping its secrets. So we would know by now if he actually regenerated ;] That and even if a Timelord can control every time it has happened to the Doctor it was during some sort of 'OMG' situation that forced him into it. (besides I would have my lovable ginger Doctor by then. X3)

I still don't think Jenny actually regenerated, but rather was brought back due to the atmosphere plant growing thingy. (Can't recall its name at the moment)

Something just came to mind in I think it was The Forest or which ever it was called that one girl was all like OH I know you in the future! So could they change it so they don't meet?

And about Jenny I didn't know that there were different classes for regeneration.

The way I'm reading it, OP mentions TWO different episodes. This is a repeat thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dodgy Doctor posted a regeneration theory, which was an intelligent theory, and got Locked in favour of a poorly thought out theory.

Somehow, I get the feeling the OP is American...

ZOMG FAVOURITISM!!!!!!

Don't forget that Jenny was in the first fifteen hours of her regeneration cycle - like when the Doctor's hand was cut off, the residual energy meant that he could grow a new one. They hinted to it and referenced the hand pretty strongly in that episode xx

I have a couple of things to say about it. The first is that on The Graham Norton Show Catherine Tate mentioned regeneration and then said that she couldn't talk about it because it was in next week's episode. Also, I think you have a big point about the Forest episodes. If the Doctor regenerated as someone other than David Tennant, then whatshername (the one who knew him in the future) wouldn't (or at least the writers shouldn't have made her say that) have made those comments about how he looked younger but still the same. Like, she wouldn't have so easily identified that it was the same Doctor that she knew.

Either way I strongly and sincerely hope that they don't get rid of David. Personally, he's my favorite Doctor by far.
