Do any of you train your own horses? I train my own horses and everything they know is what I taught em. In fact my fav and first horse Cetchar learned how to Side pass/Two track in about an hour... normally it takes other horses weeks to learn that.

Usually not by self simply because I don't have the time to invest for a solo training project. Mostly I have just been doing tune-ups for people.
The one mare I am working with right now was just let out to pasture for the past year after showing childrens' hunters and needs some major reminders. We've just been working on re-balancing, and learning that cueing for a canter is not an excuse to bunny-hop around the ring (but it's amusing to see her try to throw me.) I doubt we'll get much past that by the time I have to leave for school.

Every day that you're with your horse you should be training it on some level. Training isn't a one time deal- you have to be consistant. Horses have a mind of their own and will do what they want to do- when they want to do it.
I can make a horse sidepass in an hour too but that doesn't mean they are doing it right and it doesn't mean they'll do it the next time I get on either. lol
