Syrus peered back for a quick moment as he was tugging on his yellow undershirt to see that the two were signing to each other, but he didn't take the time to stop and read, seeing as Skye's sister obviously didn't want him to hear what they were saying. As he started back over, he slipped his jacket on and zipped it up.
"Sorry about that," he said with a blush.

"It's all right," Serenity told Syrus, blushing faintly. "I just expected to see three of you, that's all."When Skye saw that her sister was talking to someone else, she turned to see who it was and smiled brightly when she saw Syrus. She reached for his hand, tugging him close to her, and giggled softly.
"Syrus," she said softly, "this is my sister, Serenity. She is as old as me, we came out of our vases as the same time. Serenity," she went on, turning to her sister, "this is Syrus. He is my boyfriend!"
She said this last part proudly, not at all ashamed of Syrus, or her relationship with him. Serenity might have been surprised, had she not seen the two of them kissing, but as the matter stood she simply nodded.
"It's nice to meet you," she murmured softly, holding out one hand to Syrus to shake.

Syrus smiled, still feeling a bit awkward. His still grasped Serenity's hand and gave it a gentle shake.
"It's nice to meet you as well Serenity," he said.

Serenity smiled. "And I don't mean to rush us ... but Skye was supposed to be home already, Mama's worried about her. I would offer to just go home and tell Mama she's all right ... but ... she does have school tomorrow."Skye frowned. "I go to school with Papa," she protested. Serenity shrugged. "You have to leave early, you know that," she replied, signing at the same time.Skye turned back to Syrus. "I am sorry," she murmured. "Can we meet again next weekend?" Her blue eyes were sad as she looked up at him, wishing she didn't have to go.

Syrus hugged Skye to him gently and then looked back and smiled.
"Of course. It's a date," he said. "Now you really should get going. I feel bad enough that I aided in making your mother worry,"

Skye hugged Syrus tightly, pressing her head to his shoulder.
"I will see you next weekend," she smiled brightly at him. She went up on her tiptoes and kissed him lightly on the cheek, then gave his hand a squeeze. "Bye for now!"
She picked up her bag, then waved at him and headed off with Serenity.

Syrus waved back as he watched her leave, then went about collecting everything of his from both the beach site and the picnic site before heading home himself, a rather high spring in his step as he did so.
