So, I thought I'd share what's been running through my mind for the past 31 nights. Yesterday night I finally took the initiative to write down my thoughts.

It's just a scrape off of what I've been thinking about~ [Touches very slightly on religion]

Quote:
Jun 28, 2008

Today is day 30 since I first almost fainted. Things have only gotten worse. Almost every night I think "I'm wasting too much time." Who knows how long God plans for me to live. Just the thought of that makes the air around me feel unbreathable, like it's vanishing. It stifles me. This world is corrupting so quickly. The environment's dying. People are becoming money freaks. Prices are skyrocketing. Everybody's suffering. I can't be the only person who's noticing this. But unless everybody notices this, nothing will change and the corruption will get worse. It's going to take something extreme happening for everyone to finally open their eyes. I don't want to have to wait that long. I could be dead by then. I don't want to see the world in a terrible state where the plants are dying and the water polluted and people barely making it through the day. I want something to change NOW.

But honestly, what're the odds of that happening?

WOW Kitty eek

Things have always been about money (or goods back in bartering days >.>) and people have always been corrupt, and there have always been people who barely make it through the day and there always will be, but the world gets over it and keeps spinning along with the majority of the people on it.

I dont think that will help :/ But I dunno I dont care about most things and I definateomly dont care about dying. I dont see the point in caring about that.

I hope you stop caring soon I guess?

And maybe join an environmental group too.

Edit - WAIT you almost FAINTED because of this? You should SERIOUSLY get some kind of help :/ I mean if things like THIS are making you almost pass out when you get into the real world you'll probably go completely comatose in a week. You need to get your head fixed before you seriously injure yourself.

I'll tell you the truth. I have no idea what you're talking about. You go off on like 3 different tangents. But yeah, you should stop worrying so much, because you're SUPPOSED to be at the age when you're NOT supposed to worry. I know people tell you this, but it's true. You REALLY have no responsibilities. And the fact that you're worrying SO MUCH about the world right now is OBVIOUSLY not good for you. So just relax because by sitting around right now talking about how much the world sucks and fainting, you're not getting much done other than hurting yourself. YA KNOW?

In a way, I share your sentiments, but in a way, I don't.

See, people do notice... but that's not the problem. The problem is that people dont' care. It's been a long time since there's been any decent number of people that do care (percentage wise, not necessarily numerically). People have been polluting rivers, burning ground, and whatnot since before the medieval ages... and we've been greedy, and hurting each other since probably when we first walked the Earth. Of course, there's been many that have made progress, and societies that have, at least for a time, made right.

Instead, I wish that something bad would happen... REALLY bad. Bad enough to make people start caring. Make people protect the Earth, make people respect each other, just give us the proverbial "smack to the face" to wake us up to where we'll get our head on our shoulders. Then again, at the rate we're going, that's what will happen. We actually have made progress since our earliest civilizations, and we're gonna get better... it's just us as a race (eg. look up "humanism").

Anyways, philosophical thoughts aside... There's two things I can recommend.

1. Don't worry about the stuff you have no control over. You're gonna die, eventually. May be sooner, may be later, but it's going to happen. Don't sweat it. You worrying about it is only making the time you have here and now worse, and taking away from things you could be doing to make the best of what you have.

2. About the things you can change, that you want to change... do it! It's one thing to sit and think that things suck, it's another to go and try and make things better. Whether it's you wanting to make the world a better place (go volunteer with some community group or something), or living better so that you can live longer (don't smoke, do drugs, drink, those kind of things).

tl;dr: enjoy your life, do what you can to make the world better, and don't worry about things you can't do anything about

ps. As the old saying goes:

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
Grant me the courage to change the things I can.
And grant me the wisdom to know the difference."

People aren't going to be all "ohh, we did this to ourselves, lets start caring". I mean have you not seen the CRAZY tsunamis and the crazy hurricanes, and the crazy earthquakes, and landslides. People are just trying to survive, and for them to survive things need to be done, and there are people out there who will do what NEEDS to get done, and they won't feel bad about it, because we'll be paying them, and they don't have to deal with any of the things they're doing.

After like a TERRIBLE, DEADLY, HORRIFYING hurricane people are not going to be all "my house was just knocked out by this hurricane, let me become completely conscious about the way I treat the earth right now, to see if it will build my house for me".

I had to let this post sit for like 10 minutes, because I didn't know if I was sounding too much like an a**. But then I realized that what I have to say is important, because the world isn't split up between people who care and people who don't. There are those of us who don't think that trying to eradicate a problem is the only solution.

A couple of tsunami's or hurricanes, or flooding isn't really much... it hurts some people, but not too many... I mean, something that, like, leaves only 10% of the entire world's population left... or less.

Not that I would want to be in something like that... but yeah... Something to the effect of "I've only got one neighbor... I can treat him humanely, right?"

And people after such a... "disaster" would realize that "Hey, that's not happened before... maybe this time around, when we're rebuilding our civilization, we can preach a little more... caring" And actually, if you look at the aftermath of some of these things, there's plenty of people willing to donate, plenty of people that do realize they need to care.

Now, don't get me wrong... I really don't "want" this to happen... I just want the end result... but I see no other way for this to happen... Humanity isn't the problem. It's the individuals that aren't making good decisions that are. It's the people that don't care about the effects of their actions that are causing the problems.

And lots of people are "just trying to survive"... and I commend them for doing what they must to do so... but there's so many of us that aren't "just surviving", but hurting others and whatnot for their greed. These are the people that are making our world worse.

Anyways, I do understand your cynicism... it IS based upon good reason. I just don't entirely agree with it. ^_^

Lawlz like Noah's Ark?

Or, speaking of bible stories, the apocalypse.

Except after the apocalypse it wont be that people start caring, it will be the all the uncaring people will be in hell and all the boring, nice, sensitive, caring ones will be alive and keep being boring, nice, and sensitive rolleyes I would rather go to hell and have fun then live on a Earth where everyone is nice and cares.

I'll just say this

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST!!

If you're not fit to survive in the world, then you'll just go away.

It happened to the dinosaurs, and all those olden time people and junk.

So I'll just wait until the day the meteor hits, then I'll see how people will act when they have 1 neighbor per 100 miles... I'm almost certain they're not all going to go sit around a fire singing kumabaya...

Or maybe one day we'll all just start bleeding oil, so we'll have to kill each other to survive. I'm pretty certain that I won't be the first to go.
