"Alright..." Even though it did ease her worries, she sat up to give him a kiss. It was sweet and gentle, just like she was, and she could only hope that how she felt was conveyed through everything she did for him. Pyralis was always so good and kind to her, and it was with all her heart that Anna wished they could be truly happy for the rest of their days.

That was another worry of hers brought on by the stresses of the previous night: Would the love of a dragon come with the promise of forever? She had been promised 'forever' before, but soon found how short of a time frame that could be. That man... Adrian. He had hurt her so much emotionally. All she could imagine was him telling her how Verdi's death was unfortunate, with a subtle hint that it was indeed her fault. Comfort was always a double-edged knife with him.

Pyralis, though... Anna knew he loved her with a frightening faithfulness. She just needed to know in words how serious he was.

"Thank you for staying with me, A'mael. You've no idea how much that helped me. I... I thought you might be ashamed of me or disappointed..."

"I will always be here for you my dear Anna." Red eyes locked onto the elf's. "I will forever and always be here for you. Nothing could ever make me ashamed of you or disappointed in you." His hand reached up and gentley stroked her cheek. "I live for you. Without you, my A'mael, I cease to exist in this or any realm." Every word he spoke rang with love and truth. He had spent so many years looking without knowing what he was looking for, but now that he had found her, Pyralis couldn't live without her. Anna could always leave him if she desired, but he would have no other after her. A dragon's love, a dragon's true love, was forever. It lasted beyond death.

It was very odd how, ever since they had established the mind link, Pyralis could sink into her feelings and thoughts without trouble. She didn't mind it. On the contrary, it was actually quite wonderful to have him pick up on things, and for her to be able to sense him out as well. But his words and eyes were so unexpected and beautiful that Anna was for a moment utterly stunned.

"Pyralis..." The elf suddenly straightened herself to wrap her arms around his neck to bury her face in his shoulder. The past emotions were still stinging her, making her more vulnerable than ever, but this new magnified one was too much to keep within herself. Once more she found herself crying into him, disliking herself immensely for this spilling out when things were bad enough.

"His name was Adrian. He was wonderful." Though the word came out with so much sadness and heartbreak that he hardly seemed wonderful at all. "He was everything I had thought I wanted, and he promised me forever. He said he would give me the moon and stars, called me his butterfly. But he grew hateful, and I clung to that stupid promise in the hopes he would remember it, and treat me well again."
Such a depressing tale, and coming at an odd time. But she felt like he needed to know after such a declaration.

"To hear you say that, I know the difference now between you and him. I couldn't bare to think that I could lose forever twice. But I know we're not like that, Pyralis, my dearest, dearest dragon. My god, I love you so much. I love you more than any book or story. You make my life a fairytale, and I just..."

She laughed. It was with a bit of a sputter, but Anna laughed at herself as silent tears came again.
"I love you."

As her words about Adrian sunk in, Pyralis felt the fire within him flare dangerously. He had to close his eyes as the pain Anna had felt over this man sank in. It was right for her to tell him, but heaven help Adrian should the dragon ever come face to face with him. The fact was simple, the man would not survive the encounter. Pyralis did nothing to hide this fact from Anna. She knew his nature and he wasn't about to start hiding anything now. He held her tightly to him. "The moon and the stars." He spoke with scorn. "He would name them in your honor, but I," Here his voice softened to it's former tone. "I will take you soaring so high that you could touch the very moon, feel the very heat of a star, and trap them both in an enchanted bottle that you may carry to always see by their light."

Her final words melted his heart completely, taking the inner fire back down to a safe level. "I love you too." Stroking her hair, he started to hum an ancient song. "My little songbird, do not cry. I will never let such a beautiful heart be broken."

His gentle humming set her to rights once more, sending her heart back into the lightness she belonged in. She would never speak to Adrian again, that much she knew. It was both for his own safety and for hers, though mostly for his. What were the chances of him surviving an encounter with two very angry people, and one of them being a dragon, no less?
There was no point in even answering the silly question.

"It was broken when I came here, but you helped me set all the pieces back just so. I do not think anyone could have done it better, A'mael." Anna pulled back slightly so she could look at him, and what a sight he was to her. Red eyes were such a contrast to his hair. Anna wanted to ask him about that, how his eyes came to be so brilliant, but the sunlight was becoming stronger, and she was being called to her tasks.

"And while I'd love to stay here with you for the entire day, we do have things to attend to..."

Pyralis nodded. "You are right." He stood, pulling her up with him. "Then I shall escort you to your office before bidding you a good day." Smiling, he took her hand and gave it a squeeze. Anna would be the one to keep him in a safe mindset and in turn he would see to her safety and well-being.

And she would make sure that he was content and safe in her own way. Anna squeezed his hand back before coming close for yet another kiss, this time making it a little deeper and more intimate, but still gentle.
"Then off to my office I'll go, though you must promise me that you will take a nap or rest. You must have stayed up all the night worrying over me..."

Reluctantly she began the walk to the door with him. She would be alright, she told herself. This day would go by, and they would only worry about tomorrow when tomorrow came, together.
