So, to get this thread started, I'll add a poem from FOREVER AGO. I spent an hour trying to find my old poetry book. I wanted to get a poem that no one had read, so it won't be in the anthology, from last year's or this one (YWW members say "Huzzah!"). Enjoy!
Reunite
A baby cries.
"Daddy's here.
Daddy loves you.
I'll see you again.
"I promise."
Promises are meant to be broken
and placed in a basket
floating on the river
held by the drift
animals move rocky currents
a fox on the hunt
kits will eat well
A father cries by the river bed.
"I promise. I promise."
