Oh man. I just got back from my first rehearsal with the marching band. I am a freshman and am pumped. We didn't march or anything, but we did get music and played through some of it. It was awesome! We're doing the Planets and the show sounds amazing. I'm feel like I'm on this amazing kind of high. Is this natural or should I seek professional help?
Also, everyone's sad now because our head band director is leaving and won't be here for band camp. I thought she would wait till the end of the year, but apparently I was wrong. We're gonna miss you, Mrs. Long. cry

The Planets?! As in Gustav Holst's "The Planets?!?!" eek scream gonk heart
It's no wonder you're pumped. That's an awesome suite to listen to, even more so to play, and if you're marching it...man. You're going to have an incredible season. Don't worry, being excited is natural. smile
That's too bad about your BD. I hope she'll stay in touch (I've noticed that even after band directors leave the band they come back every so often...) and that her replacement isn't Satan incarnate. sad

Mrs. Long said she'd come to say hi occasionally and she gave us her email address. I had her for one rehearsal and I'm still gonna miss her...

yeah, marching band is fun...it gives you that excited feeling. I know what ur goingthrough, our BD left us last year, i miss her so much.

Nope that high is totally natural. Isn't it amazing?! Just wait until you do amazing in a competition...its...like...the best feeling ever and it takes a bit to wear off.

Our band went to see the Chicago Symphony perform it and I was in heaven the whole time. (pun totally intended) blaugh
