 The four-leaf clover hovered lightly above the ground. Her mechanical wings occationally flapped once or twice, allowing her to stay above the ground just slightly. She felt rather...mellow today. Then again she didn't feel very much very often anyway.
Long ears flickered lightly against the cool air as she floated on by. This time she made her way towards the HQ once more with the intention of finding more information about this place. It was a peculiar place. Though she would rather not run into any weird mad scientists like before.

 No mad scientists today, though there was a little creature that resembled rather closely a puff of soot with tails and a face. Soot was, in fact, made of soot, and once upon a time had made rather a mess where ever Soot went. But Soot had friends who knew magical things and made a spell so Soot's soot cleaned itself up after a few minutes. Soot had later asked for a bit of a modification so that Soot could use Soot's soot to write and draw pictures that lasted longer. Today Soot was making use of said spell and a piece of whitewashed wood to practice Soot's writing and drawing. Though Soot was mostly only good at drawing stick figures. With as deep a breath as the perma-kit could manage Soot blew the soot off the board from Soot's latest picture to clear it, the soot seemingly disappearing before it hit the carpet. Then Soot resumed drawing a rather childish looking picture of stick-kitsu beneath a stick-tree next to a stick-house. But Soot didn't care if it looked silly. Drawing Soot's friends and home made Soot happy.

As she floated on by, her eyes spotted a furry black kit. Its fur dark as charcoal. She was curious as to what the little one was doing over there with that whitewashed piece of wood. The only thing she could see from the distance was the fact that it was doing--perhaps writing on the piece of wood. What with or what it was writing she could only guess.
She wanted to know more about this creature. The creature seemed like an inhabitant of this strange world. Maybe she could ask it about this world to know more about everything. She wanted to know about its other inhabitants and what it was like around here. Granted, several seasons had passed since she arrived in this world, but she wondered if all its inhabitants were all furry like the two of them.
If she knew any better, she probably wouldn't present herself in this manner. Her shadow towered over the small creature. Only the sound of her breathing could be heard. The wings didn't need to flap. More than anything they were just there for show. She couldn't float/fly without them, but there was no need to move them either. Any normal person would introduce themselves without scaring the other, but her interactions with others were limited, thus this was what she thought would be best.

Well, considering who Soot lived with, Soot was actually used to having people randomly come up behind Soot and stare at what Soot was doing. Those of Bryna's brood and Bryna herself particularly. At first Soot even thought it might be one of the people Soot knew until Soot looked up and saw Su.
Blink. Blink. Headtilt. Soot emitted a curious squeek and then quickly blew the picture off the board and wrote in large childish letters on the white surface the word, "Hello." Then after a moment of consideration Soot added in smaller words beneath it "Why were you watching?"
Soot felt safe at the HQ buildings. It was generally dark caves and such that gave Soot the willies because of Soot's involvement with the escapades that occured during the battles with the evil spirits on the Mountain. And, generally speaking, Soot tended to hope the best of people until proven otherwise. Not to sneak up on people would be a lesson Su learned another day, for good or ill.

She carefully read out the words he wrote on the board. Despite being locked up in a cage she knew how to read. She had to keep herself entertained somehow with her limited contact to the outside world. Reading was one of her quiet past times as well as watching. There wasn't much else to do besides that.
"Hello. I just wanted to see what you were doing." Curious green eyes motioned over towards the black puff ball instead of the lettering now. She wasn't very good at keeping conversations. Again, her limited interactions with the outside world contributed to that.

Soot smiled up at Su and squeeked happily with a waggle of sooty tails. Soot liked meeting people. Soot turned to the white board and cleared it before writing on it further. "I'm Soot" And then, "I was drawing my friends. It's fun." Soot added a little smiley face and grinned up at Su.
After making sure Su had had time to read what Soot wrote, Soot cleared the board again and continued with, "What's your name? Do you like to draw?"

Drawing? She never tried it before. Within the cage she had limited access to the outer world's supplies. There was a telephone for her to communicate with her "captors" as well as with other miscellaneous people. Aside from that and her TV, there wasn't much else. She didn't even know how to write, though she did understand how to read from certain TV shows.
The four-leaf clover shook her head lightly, "No, I've never drawn before. Is it hard?" She asked with a child-like innocence. Even though she was very much an adult she still had the mind of a child. Many things were still new to her. This drawing concept seemed rather fun, though, from what Soot made it out to be.

Endless was responsible for Soot knowing how to write. If not for the star-furred kitsu Soot wouldn't have learned that, and wouldn't be living with all of Soot's friends at the Place, and probably wouldn't be drawing right now. Soot didn't really think to ask if Su could write since she could read, or Soot probably would have offered to teach her. But the topic simply had not come up.
"Not hard. Not to draw like I do, anyway. My friend Endless can make pictures that look just like people. I need more practice." Soot did not seem bothered by this fact though, and proceeded to clear the board again and drew a little stick figure of Su. Then Soot squeeked happily and nudged the board at Su with a waggle of Sooty tails, grabbing a charred stick out of the nearby fireplace and handing it to her.

This Endless kitsu sounded rather talented. Able to draw pictures that look just like people? It was a hard concept to grasp from the drawings Soot made. They seemed a lot of fun to draw, and took almost no effort. But to be able to draw and make the drawings replicate real people must take only the skills of a master, she thought.
"Thanks," she said as she grabbed the charred stick into her paws.
At first she struggled with holding onto the stick properly. She never held something like this before. Let alone with paws. Green eyes peered over at the other, trying to mimic how to hold the stick correctly. After a few seconds of struggling, she managed as best she could to hold onto it comfortably.
"What should I draw first?" She pondered, staring at her side of the blank board.

Soot tilted Soot's head in thought for a moment before scribbling on the top corner, "A friend or something you like." It was what Soot usually did, after all, and it made Soot happy to do so. Soot blew Soot's words off the corner of the board and added, "I usually do that, or draw my house." Erase, scribble. "Whatever comes to mind?"

Whatever comes to mind, huh? Su remained floating a few inches above the ground, the stick in between her paw as she thought about this. Nothing simple immediately came to mind. She thought of drawing the structures she saw when she was released, but all those structures were really complex and massive. It would probably be best and easier to start with something simple.
Staring at Soot for a few moments longer, she was suddenly inspired! Draw Soot! That ought to be easy enough to start out with. Her paw moved toward her drawing space, and she began drawing a stick figure of Soot.
Long ears, long tails, little paws holding a stick...

Soot waggled sooty tails and hopped from paw to paw a bit in kit-like enthusiasm. Soot felt honored to get to be the subject of someone's first drawing. Soot thought that Su did very well with it and clapped Soot's little paws together to show her how much Soot liked it.
Soot looked around for a moment after that and emitted a squeek of "ah-ha!" calibur before holding up a paw to try and indicate for Su to wait a moment. Then Soot darted off across the room and dragged a pad of paper back over before scribbling, "Now we can draw together!"
Soot doodled a little stick tree before pausing thoughtfully and using a different piece of paper to write, "What were you doing before you found me?"
((Hmm... should I have Soot ask for Su's name again or should I just flub that she told him when I had him ask earlier? XD I didn't know if you accidentally skipped that or what...))

Su was pleased Soot enjoyed her first attempt at drawing. It wasn't anything magnificent, but practice makes perfect as they say. The ends of her lips curled lightly into a soft smile. The thought of Soot happy made her happy as well.
Green eyes stared at the dark Kitsu curiously to see what he was doing. At first she didn't quite understand why he brought out the paper until he explained it. Draw together? That sounded fun.
"What was I doing? I was just wandering. No particular destination, though."
