Sorry I haven't been here in a while. Well... how are you? sweatdrop
I was talking to Clementine (friend of mine that can sense and see ghosts) last night, and I got a really weird idea as to what she could be seeing.
Recently, she went to Disneyland's California Adventure. I'm not sure if any of you have been there, but there's an enclosed space where you can sing along or be a voice actor for classic Disney films. She saw a man behind her, and then he was gone. Her brother didn't see anybody.
They left that small space and went into a somewhat larger area, and she saw the man with a little girl. A split second later, they were gone. Her brother could not see them. She's not really sure if they were spirits, because there were many people there, but she doesn't think that anybody could run away that fast, either.
So... I have a theory.
Usually, when she sees the spirits, she gets a strong feeling from them. This time, she couldn't get a feeling.
What if spirits are condensed auras, or some other type of energy that naturally exist within souls? This would be emitted from living people all the time, in considerably smaller amounts, possibly because they don't rely on the auras to be seen and don't need to focus on it as much.
That could explain, if the man and the girl Clementine saw were really spirits, why she couldn't get a clear feeling from them. There was too much interference from all the other people around her.
However, there are some people who can see those auras, right? There are also people who are hyper-sensitive to the emotions of people, possibly because of the fluctuating energies that our souls are always releasing? Would these people also be more susceptible to seeing and sensing spirits?
Also, maybe spirits materialize in certain colors because it's a mix of all the colors of their emotions or feelings? This one, I should ask Clementine about, because I haven't asked if the colors correlate with the mood of the spirit.
I really don't know much about auras. Maybe, if they aren't auras, then they are some sort of energy? Aura was just the only word I could get to fit what I was thinking.
We would really appreciate any input or insight you have on this. Maybe it'll help us understand more about the spirits, depending on where the responses go.

Actually, that is a very plausible possibility. Its very understandable that she would have gotten too much interference from the many people that are there, but what about the small space? She didn't get the vibe there either and I wouldn't expect there to be many people there.
Another idea that I was thinking was possible astral travel. Sometimes some of the fully formed people we see are actually travelers. Its odd that it would be a man and a child though, which leads me to more believe that its not astral travel.
Possibly guides for her? That is another possibility. I'm not sure why two and why they would show up at that point, but, its still another possibility.
I think I would go more with your idea of all the interference. Besides, even in the small room she could have been interfered with her own emotions. That kind of things sounds like loads of fun!

I agree. You are talking about being at an amusement park. Emotions are high, there isn't the same level of concentration and naturally lots of distractions and interferance. Big time difference between that and a persons home or street.
Spirits still produce auras. Anything that contains energy or is made up of energy produces an aura.
Clairsentiants is a name given to people who can feel energies and/or emotions. They can sense spirits if they are open enough to the idea to do so. Might take practice for some and faith in their skills. But anyone can do any of this stuff if they let themselves do so.
Colours are more than just emotions. It is a representation that best suits the needs of the spirit, its purpose and the way it associates with us, as well as our skill level, our ability to recognize the colour, how we feel towards that colour. And a spirit that you (or clementine) might see as blue, I might see as green or pink, depending on our interpretations, experiences and clairvoyant abilities.
Raeden: people can have multiple guides appear at the same time. It depends on the situation as to how many do get involved. Most people are lucky to sense 1-2, sometimes 3 at a time. I have actually seen 12 guides standing around a public speaker. That was really neat. But the limit the number of guides a person has available is vast. I'm talking like sports arena numbers, cathedrals, I could keep going, but I'm being pulled away from my computer at the moment mrgreen

Uh... heh, what are guides? It would be interesting if they were who Clementine's been seeing. However, would the guides be recurring, or consistently with her? She hasn't seen any apparition more than once.
Thank you for the responses. If you have any other ideas about this, please post them. ^_^

Spirit Guides are similar to Guardian Angels that offer insight, insparation and encouragement. They are a mix of spirits, and beings from other planes that have chosen to observe us and help if they can. They usually stand behind us or by our sides within our aura field so as we move, so do they. But if she were seeing them, she would be seeing her primary ones more frequently.
One of the books I've been checking out mentions spirits that are "just passing through" they have no conection to us, just wandering around and a psychic just happens to see them that one time. The book doesn't go into a great deal about them though.
As a suggestion, there is a book called Spiritualizm and Clairvoyance for beginners by Elizabeth Owens. It is pretty basic stuff.
The Gift by Echo Bodine is ok, there might be something in there that you can use as well.
I will keep an eye out for others. Those just happen to be ones I have read.
