Spins paused, his shirt half way to on, sleeves about up to his elbows. He'd handed over the vest without complaint, sure that if it came to being shot at again, she'd be generous enough to loan it out a second time.

Maybe he should invest in his own?

How much did a bullet proof vest cost?

Where the hell did one even buy one?

And then she was touching him, just barely, and he couldn't remember what he was thinking about only a second before. Something to do with... fingers... skin... no... wait.

There was another moment in which he visibly recollected himself, picking up scattered bits of Spencer thoughts from around the room and rebuilding them into a logical pattern.

Well, as logical as he ever got. Spins brain was abstract art at best, a grand Polluck piece of color and chaos.

"It was fun. Never been shot before. Gotta try something new everyday." See? Didn't he sound coherent?

The vest she took in her free hand, letting the heavy material hang beside her, partially resting upon the floor, while her other hand kept her fingertips brushing ever so lightly across the other's skin.

She watched him with an amused look as his brain visibly stalled, and then forcibly put itself back together. She drew her hand away slowly, and tilted her head a bit as she watched him. She cocked an eyebrow at him, trying not to look too smug about the fact she'd caused another mental hiccup for the poor boy.

"I wouldn't call getting shot 'fun'- it's kind of uncomfortable," she murmured with a soft chuckle, "But whatever you say..."

She let him pull his shirt the rest of the way on, and moved to put his kevlar vest on the dummy over her own. So far as Spins getting his own kevlar vest- well, if he cared to ask, more likely than not Dominique could hook him up. So far as what they cost- well. It was more than a little pocket money, that was for sure.

"So, do you want to poke around the toys in here some more, or would you like to go upstairs for a drink?" she asked him, once she'd put the kevlar away- sort of, and turned to face him again.

"Things can be fun and uncomfortable, I think." Spins responded shrugging the shirt up onto his shoulders and buttoning it back up. And look, the marks were gone, and he was a normal boy again! Except the horns, and the shiny hair, the fangs, and the glowing. There was always the glowing.

"Y'know a drink-" He cut off abruptly, as his cell phone rang. The ring tone appeared to be an engine revving. He pulled it out, a slightly outdated model, and and gave Dom an apologetic look. "Sorry..."

It was followed as he glanced at the number, with a frown, "Who the hell?"

"What?" He growled into the receiver, and one could see, more than when he was in the bar, that he did have a temper.

"Who? Oh, ********." His expression went briefly blank, then darkened.

"He what?" Now there was definite threat in his tone, "What did you do?"

"You a*****e. I don't care who you saw him with! What the hell did I tell you?" He paced as he spoke, and the lingering sense of calm was completely gone.

"No. NO. Listen, idiot. Sit down, shut up, and don't even go near the door, or I swear I will tear out your throat with my teeth. I'll come get him."

He hung up the phone, still clearly on edge, and not in the fun, amused way that he'd been at the bar.

But when he looked at Dom, it was with guilt and regret. There was a good chance she wouldn't want to see him, after he decided to cut out on a date. Especially when he had to demand a ride... ********... my roommate is locked in one of his boyfriends' bathrooms, having a panic attack. I... need to go. I'm sorry."

Dominique cocked an eyebrow as his cellphone rang, and she crossed her arms over her chest. This was strange; normally it was her cellphone ringing, obnoxiously interrupting one of Dom's less business-oriented rendezvous. To be on the receiving end of such treatment- well, this was a new one for her. She wasn't sure whether or not to be pissed off, or mildly amused to find herself in a different set of shoes.

Dominique watched him closely, a dark look crossing her own features. Yes, she knew this situation all too well. She didn't know exactly what sort of situation Spins had going for him- but it reminded her of when someone had been stupid enough to kidnap her brother, in a vain attempt to lure Dom into a trap and have her offed, to usurp her.

"Trouble at home?" she questioned as the other hung up his phone. Even without a direct answer to her question, she could see it in his face. And, his words of needing to go- well, there it was.

Too bad, really, Dom hadn't been sure what the night would hold- but, probably would have been a little more exciting and less stressful than this...

And, while she might have been the head of a wealthy, and dangerous crime family, she wasn't completely heartless- at least not yet anyway. God only knew what she'd done when her brother had been in trouble...

Hell, she'd almost gotten herself killed. It'd been a close thing...

Not quite the same as a panic attack in a bathroom- but Dom knew about loyalties to someone you cared about.

"It's fine," she brushed her finger's back through her hair, and offered him a very small sort of smile, "Want a ride home?"

Sure, he could take a cab-- but it wouldn't be nearly as fast as her in her Mercedes, or hell, on her bike. Her bike was fast. And shiny!

Oh god we give you thanks for merciful mob bosses who still might yet agree to sleep with us.

Spins gave Dominique a look of unshielded gratitude. His demeanor, however, did not quite return to normal. The wound tenseness was back, but now it was different. The humor was gone, replaced by simmering irritation. He didn't look worried, just annoyed.

And then he smiled, a twisting, ironic little smirk. "This... doesn't happen that often. I usually scare off the idiots in advance."

He pulled his jacket back on, noting the bullet holes again. He'd just have to hope that Jaden was too busy being hysterical to notice the evidence that he'd been shot at today. Generally, his friend was skittish but not prone to moralizing, but 'I shot people today' might not go over as well as most as his little distractions.

Though Jaden would probably still prefer it to having Spins hide his clothes.

"A ride would be great." He admitted.

So would another chance to sit behind her on that beautiful bike.

"You'll let me make this up to you?"

Dominique smiled briefly, and then shifted passed him to lead him back up the stairs. She was relatively sure that there would be time for Spins to play with the shiny guns later. He wasn't the only one who was a little on the irritated side- but, it wasn't her business, and she wasn't about to get into it. A person had to do, what they had to do.

"Don't worry about it," she told him, glancing back at him over her shoulder as she climbed the stairs with a faint shrug, and the faintest glimmer of a smile, "Like I said, its fine. Lord knows enough of this kind of s**t happens to me, around me, because of me..." she drawled out the list with a bit of a laugh, and walked him back through the house, towards the front door.

She'd just swung said door open, when Spins inquired as to a chance to make it up to her, and, even though Spencer couldn't see it because her back was turned- she smiled. Ooh Spencer, that could be such a dangerous phrase to say to a mob boss.

Good thing she seemed like a 'good' one though, if the term could be used anywhere near the word mob.

She turned a little, grabbing her jacket off of the shin-biting lamp stand, and fishing her keys out of the pocket.

"I suppose I will," she said, her voice smooth as silk, with a sultry hint of danger hanging about the very edges of her tone, "And I'll be looking forward to it, in fact,"

She chuckled low in her throat, before turning, pulling her helmet off of the floor where she'd ditched it, expecting him to grab his own. Then she was heading for the bike, the helmet coming down over her face and her leg going over the bike, the key in the ignition, waiting for Spins to hop on.
