Share ideas of class combos that you think would make the greatest level 20 character ever.

Please keep it strictly to official classes and prestige, feats, etc. released in the D&D material.

One idea I've kicked around, Fochlucan lyrist10/Duskblade4/Favored Soul3/Rogue2/Bard1.

Casts Arcane spells like a Level 14 Duskblade, casts divine spells like a level 13 Favored Soul, Uses Bardic music abilities at the power, variety and number of times per day like a level 11 Bard, and has a BAB of 17. Fochlucan lyrist get's 6+int skillpoints each level, so that's covered. It's disgustingly well-rounded even before selecting feats to make it cooler.

I'm sure I'll come up with more, but I wanted to get ideas flowing.

assuming you put all your 1 bard level skillpoints into perform and 3 of your rogue points, (and you don't get any negative penalties to your int) you've got 9 points into a perform skill by the time you're a Fochlucan lyrist. aThe skill points can be invested as the Fochlucan lyrist levels, since you get the 6+int as it goes.

as for exp penalty for multiclassing, go

Duskblade1
Duskblade1/FavoredSoul1
Duskblade2/FavoredSoul1
Duskblade2/FavoredSoul2
Dusblade2/Favored Soul2/Rogue1
At this point you've got arcane spells, Divine spells, some skillpoints to round things out, light armor, a BAB of 3 at level 5. It's basically like a Bard with a little less skillpoints and alot more spells. your saves are really good, since Favored soul gets the best saves in Fort, Ref. and Will, Duskblade gets the best in Fort and Will, and Rogue fills in the Ref. increase that Duskblade doesn't have. you're now at Fort 6, Ref. 5, Will 6 at level 5.
Duskblade2/Favored Soul2/Rogue2
Duskblade3/Favored Soul2/Rogue2
Duskblade3/Favored Soul3/Rogue2
At this point your BAB is 6 for a level 8 character, keeping up the the fair BAB progression, still no exp penalty for multiclassing because you've stayed within 1 level the whole way. You've got the Deity weapon focus from Favored Soul level 3, a bunch of abilities and class feats from the Duskblade that aids in casting spells while in combat, the Rogue's evasion and 1d6 sneak attack.
Duskblade4/Favored Soul3/Rogue2
You now can use medium armor with no spellcasting penalty. you get the exp penalty, making your progression slower.
Duskblade4/Favored Soul3/Rogue2/Bard1
Adding the 1 level of Bard really doesn't help much to you right now. This just is for qualifying for the Fochlucan lyrist class. You're now casting 2nd level arcane and divine spells, can wear medium armor with no casting penalty, and have a BAB of 7 at level 10, keeping up with the fair BAB progression. your saves are now Fort 8, Ref 10, Will 8.
Fochlucan lyrist#/Duskblade4/Favored Soul3/Rogue2/Bard1
it just gets better from here. BAB goes up by 1 each level. Spellcasting ability goes up 1 each level. Choice of bard songs, power of bard songs, and songs used per day goes up by 1 each level. Fochlucan lyrist has best Ref. and Will progression so that gets really good.

I think it's pretty.

Yup, that would be a very, very painful level.

Druid 20. Seriously.

You've really got something there. Turning into a Huge elemental multiple times a day, and not to mention the Shapechange spell you have access to at level 17. That is tough to beat.

I made a level 20 Druid in Neverwinter Nights, he rocked.

A druid can do anything anybody can do better than they can (except for being a druid, at which they're equal).

The more splatbooks there are, the more expansive their spell selection is. The more splatbooks there are, the more creatures there are for a druid to Wildshape into, allowing the Druid to fill nearly any utility role.

That said, on the WotC official boards, the general consensus is that the four most powerful classes are Druid, Cleric, Wizard and Artificer. Any of those classes are very viable as pure builds. The worse straight class is generally agreed upon is Fighter, especially with the release of Tome of Battle.

Almost anything a fighter can do, the Warblade can do better. Hell, Warblades are better archers than fighters, and Warblades were designed for melee.

d12, 4skill points/level, decent skill set, Uncanny Dodge, qualifies for fighter feats, can switch fighter feat weapon once per day, some bonus feats, full attack, strong fort save, maneuvers, Int to all sorts rolls.
