It fails hard.
Well, it in itself not too bad, but the intense heat and missing four buses since they were all full, reducing one to wait an hour an a half after "school" lets out, is what fails hard.
Spoonfeeds: Summer school. How I'm the only one dumb enough in this guild to do poorly in AP English Language, thus forcing me to redo my English 11 credits. Stuff that fails hard. Really, how long is Long Cat?

Long Cat...is long.
AP English Language sucks. AP English Literature sucks more. But writing essays in college sucks the most.
I think I wrote a how-to-analyze English essays thingy once here on Gaia.

AP Lit sucked hard. I never took AP English though. My class was the last class to have a sort of... "Pre-AP" Honors English for junior year. The class after us had an official AP English class. Although I heard it was uber hard.
But uh. Yeah. I went to summer school to get my art credits out of the way. Six hours of art a day wasn't too fun.

I'm going to take AP Lit next year. Question: Is it worth it? I have three book to read: Once and Future King by T. H. White, Alice in Wonderland/ Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, and my choice from a list; My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.
And summer school: Going to Temple University to take a "Sustainable Environments" class for six weeks. Which basically appears to mean Ecology.

Thanks for comiserating with me, guys.
Needless to say, I'm getting A+'s in both my classes.
Xum: Essays suck, plain and simple. Unless you analyze a BS subject, like strawberry ice cream. Then, you can utilize creative writing skills. (I'd say that I'm good at creative writing. But analyzing the a**l prompts in AP English was both troublesome and made of fail.)
Firi: Ecology. Oooh, sounds fun.
Ocean: Ouch at all that art. -___-

I'm in the first of my three weeks of winter school. It's an "intensive course" (because it's a course that's normally done over 13 weeks condensed down to three weeks in winter school)... of Japanese 1.
That is a subject where I have a relative advantage because I recognise some katakana just from all the video games I played when I was little, and I can also read Chinese, so that helps with the kanji (just have to watch out for false friends). Having studied some linguistics also helps.
I don't know enough to be disqualified from taking this subject though. xd

Mousy: That sounds really fun. I hope you do well in that class.
(At first, I was wondering why you said "Winter school" until I rememberd that you lived in the Australia-place. :3)
What exactly do you mean by "false friends"? Kanji that looks the same as other Chinese characters but sound differently/mean completely different things?

Some kanji are exclusive to the Japanese.

Kanji that looks the same as other Chinese characters but sound differently/mean completely different things? xd It seems like that whenever I mention anything related to Australia's seasons being the opposite of that in the Northern Hemisphere, there's always going to be someone who forgot that I live in Australia and therefore be confused. Yes, that's what I mean by "false friends", not to be confused with "false cognates" (words that look like they have the same etymology but don't). Xumbra Some kanji are exclusive to the Japanese. Yes, of course.

Mousy, could you enlighten me more on these false cognates? What do you mean by etymology? How is that related to a set kanji character?
