Name : Harper Valera Gender : Female Age : 14 Year : Fourth House : Slytherin
Ethnicity : Mulatto of Italian and African American Hair/Eye Color : Straight, black hair and bistre colored eyes
Pet : A black and white owl named Artemis from Costa Rica Home Life : Mother- Leah Valera, 32 is a stay at home mom who likes to throw parties with her friends. She got pregnant at age 18, just a year after graduating from Hogwarts, with her high school sweet heart. Leah acts as if she's stuck in her early 20s and can sometimes act like a bit of a dits. Father- Mavis Valera, 33 is a member of the Wizengamot. He works long hours, or so he says, and is away from his family for long periods of time. For this reason, he hasn't been able to develop a very close relationship with his daughter, Harper.
Diving deeper : Harper is a laid back kind of girl. She has a bad habit of listening in to other peoples' conversations and sometimes giving her comments when and where they're not wanted. All forms of insects and bugs are her sworn enemy, and she refers to them as "the devil's creations". One of her major flaws is apathy and not taking anything in life seriously. Harper's personality sometimes ranges from being rather shallow, to being so deep you'd think she'd been possessed by some long dead poet. In the back of her mind, she secretly longs for the darkness of the world to return in some form so that she may join it. Having read many books about the rise and fall of Lord Voldemort and his followers, she wishes that she could have been around at the time to meet them. Especially Bellatrix Lestrange, who became one of her new, hidden idols.
Taking a closer look : Harper gazed out of her bedroom window, her mind not connected to her body. Of course, her brain was still inside her, but her thoughts were on that book she had read. It was an old history book her grandmother had given her about the world's darkest wizard to date, Lord Voldemort. Now, of course Harper had already heard of him once or twice, but hadn't really understood or been told the extent of his inhumanity. She had tried asking her grandmother numerous times about him, but she would always tremble and shake her head, claiming that it was "too dark a tale" to be told. So instead, she had fished out that book and given it to Harper to read herself. Harper had finished it within the day, reading it six more times that week until she could quote it. "Amazing," she whispered to herself, "absolutely amazing." She sighed and started to watch the blue jays outside her window chase each other through the sky. "Harper, come on! We have to go get your school supplies!" her mother called from downstairs. "Alright mom, be down in a sec.", she called back. She grabed her black cloak off her bed and tied it around her neck as she walked out of her room and down the hall.
