the storyline seemed interesting.. but dark angel brings up some valid points.. and he also brang up a retarted point about "why not just make a game where the main character is stuck in wars in and out of the game"
ok.. for the retarted point.. this is called a cliche' In the RPG making world.. this is frowned apon.. a game needs and original storyline with original content... going in and out of wars (for no apparent reason) is bad.. as the game is repetative and will be thrown out the 2nd floor window in no time flat..
as for the mechs.. he has a point.. there are tons of games.. sure it was great 10 years ago when mechs semt like a marvelous dream.. but now they are become reality.. why not create a new dream.. why not take it up another notch and create something even MORE futuristic?.. something like.. a suit that can enhance the natural genes of a human giving them special powers such as, super strength, fire control, telepath and what ever you can think of?.. to be honest i hardly see space rmxp games.. (probably because there is like 0 tilesets for it) but there are lots and lots of space games.. try being unique once again.. create something entirely new.. perhaps a person on a normal planet is shrunken down and sent into the human body where he/she discoveres there is a completely new civilisation within the human body! and that civilisation is even more advanced then that where he/she came from now that would be new.. and the best part about it.. the setting could be what ever you like because it could be a habitat that houses any kind of surface, whether it be grass, dirt, metal, a planet including space (because obviously he/she would enter the body in a vessel).. use your imaginations.. you have to hook your audience and the best way is to tell them something they havn't heard before! smile

What you have to understand is that we are currently working with generalizations. We're setting everything up without getting too far into the details yet. Once I get the design document typed up, you'll see that it will be more unique than the polls and posts make it sound. I am a writer, after all, and I'm well aware of the fact that this, so far, sounds a little cliche, but I feel confident in my, and our, ability to make this game unique.

Well fine, howbout it is prevolent for the enimie to use AI robots to attack with, ships to house them and factories to build them, where as the humans use mecha suits and ships to fight back, but few mech suits are opperational due to excessive fighting, that would pose a scarcity and down play their awesomeness and make it like a knight verses wild beasts.
DOOMSDAY... i like, and curiosity is the best thing ever, why else would someone jump to the future.
