The Third Day.....Now... seeing little a little boy in a vase--I swear, its a pot. It's too wide to hold flower or anything in it. It's a pot!-- would normally be surprising to someone. I mean, little boys aren't usually
in vases to start with. However, after going to bed one night with a white feather by your bed and the next seeing a rather nude little angel girl sitting on your bed, you get desensitized to the idea of strange things.
I'd seen a whole lot in my time... And this was just amazing. I'd gone into the room to get a book for some cross referencing a summons when I noticed it. Him, rather. He was hanging onto the rim of the vase, looking down at the shelf. There seemed to be a puddle of water there too.
"Why hello there, little one," I said softly, walking up to the shelf. He looked up and panicked, falling backwards into his vase. His tail flew up from under him and I smiled. A merman! What a lovely addition... oh... wait... that means I have to put in a pool... oh well... I giggled at his reaction. "Sorry to scare you, little one."
He blinked a few times, his emerald eyes wide. I noticed the scales around his eyes. Cuteness!!! .... Anyway, he smiled a bit at him and swam back to my side of his vase-pot.
"'Iya... Ya must bey mey Ma, righ'? Da oder one... Emer...Emew... Emer, said ya'd bey mey Ma," he said, his voice heavy with a seaman's accent. I nodded and picked up the little mer.
"I am your Mother, little one. Do you have a name?" I asked, holding him in my hands. He fit so perfectly, like Emerwe did. He thought for a moment and shook his head. I smiled and thought for a moment.
"I'll name you... Okeanos. It's Greek for ocean, since you remind me of the ocean," I nuzzled him lighlty and placed him back in the vase--pot. He smile and settled into his water. I watched him a while then left the room, when I made sure that he wasn't going to fall out of it.
...Just a surprise
