// First Days // ( 24.12.04 ; First days with the nut, er, bloom. )
I'm a nut, in a rut, I'm crazy Call myself on the phone Just to see if I was home Asked myself on a date Told myself be there at eight I'm a nut, in a rut, I'm crazy Wren wasn't exactly sure about this gift that he received from his Secret Santa ( granted it wasn't so secret to him anymore ). Then again, he knew it was one of those feiens and he knew what those were courtesy of Valsharess ( who was no longer allowed near his hair with any amount of hair tires, because his hair was no longer allowed to be braided ) and Halo.
Actually, mostly Halo. Valsharess had given him a look before he merely went elsewhere with his questions. It wasn't like he was going to try and pawn the bloom off on anybody else. It was his to look afterwards ( and make sure his son didn't eat it ). He had placed the nut in a little basket, near a window but close enough to a heat source just in case it needed some warmth. He kept moving it around every so often, picky about where he was keeping it, and peculiar about where it sat.
Either that or Wren himself just couldn't leave it alone. That was probably it. He did have this thing about nature and the feien bloom seemed very nature-y to him. Just the nut's luck that it landed right into what could be considered a insane asylum or perhaps that was the luck of the person it was destined to bond too.
Probably Wren's luck, less likely the nut's. At least, however, Wren hadn't tried to crack it open or anything of that like. It had been a thought at first, before he took a second look, realized what he had and then treated it properly. ( But he could be forgiven of that, couldn't he? He had been hungry at the time and the nut looked like a brazil nut or possibly a pecan -- both of which were yummy to his tastes. )
He had, however, let it all most roll off the table he had set it on while reading the note that came with it. The dive to save it had been rather spectacular and Wren's son Mael giggled just a little too much at the way his father was grumbling and rubbing his chest afterwards. ( But, truthfully, he was still of the mind that any laughter from his son was a good thing after what happened. )
Never mind the looks he had gotten from others when he started talking about the nut. ( Actually, never mind the fact they thought he was talking about something completely different and he had to explain to them just what he was talking about. It wasn't his fault the majority of those around him had dirty minds. Or was it him? No, no, it couldn't be him. Much, anyway. )
"And try not to hide how I feel, because feelings mean nothing. Now all those feelings, those yesterday's feelings, will be all lost in time ... But today, I've wasted away, for today is on my mind ..." He sang the song lyrics cheerfully along with the song that was playing. Halo had said something about music and other things helping determine things about the feien so he played music whenever he got the chance. ( And, thankfully enough, he usually spared it singing, but the particular song was hard to get out of his head. )
The music changed, to something more upbeat and darker. Muse, honestly, the one true and universally accepted band in the house it seemed. Given it was the band they could all listen to and not immediately break out into what should be played loud enough to disturb Nora. Then again, when it came to bothering Nora, just about anything went.
He was still trying to convince the others death wasn't the only route, but that may or may not been because he was attempting to keep that as his method. There were simply some things he would've liked to do himself, but getting in trouble with the authorities was not what he needed.
Drumming his fingers along the table top, he continued to hum along with the song playing, mind drifting back and forth between contemplating the events going on and that which was now in his care. In a way, he was grateful for the feien -- the nut, as it were -- because in the in between moments when he wasn't rushing about trying to handle the affairs necessary of this time of the year, he could look after it.
Never mind that obsessive-compulsive need for things to be well handed made sure the nut was cared for. One could only hope it wouldn't backfire.
Wrinkling his nose up, Wren leaned back from peering at the nut to look at the wall clock. It was all most time for him to go make something for dinner. He tapped his finger against his cheek in thought and then scooped up the basket in which the nut rested.
"Come on. There's music and kids and other people and I'm sure you won't mind listening to the noises of things being cooked. I hope, at least." Wren shrugged his shoulders and continued on his way with the nut in tow.

// Glimpse, But Not // ( 29.12.04 ; ... sometimes you see things. )
I'm a nut, in a rut, I'm crazy Took myself to the picture show Sat myself on the very first row Wrapped my arms around myself Got so fresh I slapped myself I'm a nut, in a rut, I'm crazy. Humming to himself, Wren sat cross-legged on the floor. To his right there was a nut, sitting on that little basket of his, in front of him was his son Mael and his daemon Suffocation, neither of whom were looking at him, and to his left and clinging to his shadow created by the light in his room was the wisp, Hawk's Eye.
Now, both of these were interesting things, but Mael couldn't seem to decide which was more worth going after. The nut he had tried and been cut off rather quickly by Wren. So far any attempts to go after the glimmering shadow gem had lead nowhere. Not only could it stay out of it's grasp, but Wren knew that he was going after it without so much as a glance in his direction. He would merely stop reading from the book he was reading and quietly tell Mael to lead Hawk alone.
He was not for him to play with. Then again, this was all to the amusement and irritation of Wren. Granted, he didn't mind reading books aloud ( and this time he was reading Neverwhere ), but when you have a son intent on going after either of the beings to your side, no matter what or how many times he was stopped, it was kind of bad. Hawk was new though, somewhat. Since Athan had just appeared and Hawk ended up in his possession before the meeting was over and done with. The thing was with the wisp that it seemed much like everything else.
Prone to being amused at him. He could all ready tell it was getting a few chuckles at his expense or perhaps that was the paranoia that seemed to have settled in because of Tom and Carmine ( he twitched ) and glanced at the Feien bloom sitting at his other side in it's little basket. At least when he talked to the bloom it didn't have anything to say and so far what he had done didn't seem to harm it. It was kind of like he was all ready treating it like a kid. Taking it out places and talking to it as if it could understand him.
Not everybody got that the nut was actually a bloom that was actually something that would eventually turn into this creature called a Feien. The conversation usually went:
'Do you know Valsharess?' 'Yes. She's rather unique.' 'Well, this is from the same place. Just a different kid, so to speak.' 'It's a nut.' 'I know, it's it cute? Just adore the natural-ness and how it's hard and --' 'I didn't ask for your opinion.' 'Oh. Right. Sorry.'
Wren wrinkled his nose up and sighed, closing the book and setting it down in his lap. Not only did it seem that Mael was not paying attention to him, but he was too busy making grabby hands at Hawk to even bother listening. At least the bloom was sitting there. Perfectly quiet in it's little basket and not doing anything whatsoever.
He reached over with a hand to run a finger along, all most like petting it. Really. He did like it. The nut was kind of like nature and he did like nature so. Provided, of course, none of his relatives were around. Somehow, they tended to bring him out of his love of nature but now that he was here with this nut and -- ignoring the fact that Mael was now trying to crawl over his lap and go behind him to get the darkly glowing blue gem -- able to look at it he was very much in tune with the nature aspect.
Which, of course, meant one of two things.
One: when the feien came out of it's shell -- literally -- it probably wouldn't be very nature-ish and demand Wren back up off of it's space; and two: he had to grab Mael by the back of his shirt and set him back down where he had been and where Suffocation was. He sighed again, using his free hand to rub two fingers against his temple.
"Look, it's just a few days after Christmas, don't you think you'd still be shocked from your first one, hm?" Mael just gave him that wide-eyed look of his, grinned that impish smile, and started to make grabby hands at the bloom. This time Wren rolled his eyes and promptly sat his son back where he had been sitting on a pillow. "Sit. Stay. Be good." He couldn't resist the chuckle when Mael just gave him a look like he didn't know what he was talking about and the truth was that he probably didn't.
It was still cute.
And then he was brought to the attention that Hawk was floating closer towards the bloom and seemed to be hovering over it as much as the shadows and Wren's own seemed to permit. He lifted an eyebrow, diverted away from his son for the moment and briefly wondered what was going on. There was only a vague sense of curiousity coming from the fiend and he gave it a brief nudge of his own curiousity to see what was going on.
What he wasn't expecting was to get a sudden wave of amusement and then a fuzzy and not so clear picture. It was something not so big with wings and it was doing something in what looked to be outside in the backyard, near one of the trees. Except the people and it were all blurs and the words he heard were garbled clips and phrases. After a moment, just as the image flashed across his mind and vision, it was gone and he was blinking and staring down at both the nut and Hawk.
"... what the fu -- what was that?" He stared at Hawk and the bloom and there was nothing from either of them, but there was dark sort of amusement coming from the fiend and he rubbed his temple once more, absently grabbing Mael again as he was back in his lap and after both the bloom and the fiend now.
"I am no seer," Wren muttered and the only vocal response he got was Mael's giggles because daddy yet again caught him sneaking.

// Out of the Shell // ( 14.01.05 ; Kojak arrives. )
A moment before the feien came out it's shell, Wren had been hit with a blurred image of it courtesy of Hawk who went back to slinking and hiding in his shadow the moment the vision was over and the feien was actually out. Needless to say, Wren was grumbling at Hawk a few seconds before he even realized the fact that the feien had come to be. The event wasn't as spectacular as it was, all puns aside, cracked up to be. Merely that there was a burst of brief light, a sound of cracking, and out rolled a feien onto the soft cloth that it had been resting on.
"Hello?" The feien's voice instantly drew Wren away from speaking to Hawk's Eye ( who went to quietly lurking in the depths of Wren's shadow ) and he turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow in question before blinking rapidly. This -- this was his feien he was to look after? He looked totally different from what he expected! Then again, feiens came in all sorts of sizes and shapes. The dark skinned feien stretched his arms out, flexing as he got out of the miniature basket it had been carried around in before heading slowly in Wren's direction.
"Er, hi." Wow, Wren thought blankly. This was something else. "I'm Wren. You're ... ?" The feien lifted his head and a pair of dual colored eyes were focused on him. Never mind the smile that was on that face. It was one that could've put the house charmers to shame with it's brilliance ( which was disturbing, somehow, but Wren couldn't figure out how yet ).
"Kojak." As much as Kojak was interested in looking at his bonded, he was just as interested in getting a look at his surroundings. Besides, if he was correct, Wren would probably squirm his way into being around and telling him what he needed to know, whether he wanted to know or not. After another brief cursory glance at his surroundings, Kojak smiled in Wren's direction since the man had fallen silent.
"Nice to meet you," the man eventually murmured, overcoming that stunned silence of his. "I was beginning to wonder when I'd get to see you finally." Wren's voice picked up to normal tones as he spoke, inching closer to look at Kojak out of curiousity and a need to see if he was just fine coming out of the bloom, shell, whatever. He figured he was, but getting a closer look couldn't hurt.
"Stop worrying." Kojak said abruptly, turning and looking at Wren over his shoulder before glancing back outside the window into the backyard. He gave the man another grin. "You ... fret too much." Then a moment later. "Don't hover over me." Glancing up at Wren, Kojak watched the man take a step back, his lips moving silently. His eyes narrowed in an attempt to try and figure out what the words that had been spoken were. He wasn't sure, but it wasn't that important.
"Even while you were in the bloom?" Wren was finding it hard to believe, but then again he had been obsessive-compulsive about the bloom's care and the fact that he was told to not hover told him that it was probably known. Then again, he couldn't help it, he was trying to get a good look at the feien. His markings were covering most of his body and his hair -- his hair was probably the most interesting right after his wings, of course.
"Even then." Kojak replied, stretching out again and moving towards Wren and looking up at him expectantly. When the man only gave him a perplexed look, he pointed to the rest of the house beyond him. "I don't need to be carried in a basket anymore, but I am only recently bloomed ..." Which meant while he could probably fly, it hadn't been tested quite yet.
"Right." Wren muttered, offering his hand to Kojak and then raising it up so that he had a choice between sitting on his head or grabbing a spot on his shoulder. The shoulder was chosen and Wren was beginning to wonder when the shock would wear off from this particular event. Kojak was nothing at all what he expected and at the same time he was. It was confusing. "So what now?" he asked curiously, eyes glancing to the feien on his shoulder. That smile was directed in his direction again.
"Show me around." The reply came out smoothly, as if he intended it all along from the way he sat on Wren's shoulder and waited for the man to start walking around the house. It only took a moment for Wren to register that he was suppose to before he actually did start the tour.
It was a moment later that they ran into the sleeping totetsu on the ground and Wren lost his shoe, quickly having to explain to the awakening beast that neither of those present were food. Nothing was ever normal in the house, but Kojak didn't even seem phased.

// Compiled Shop RP Log // ( 15.01.05 ; RP ; ... takes place in the shop. )
Aria ( Rynn ) Hitomi ( Sarabi Adruenna ) Kojak ( azuredreams ) "You were on the moon?" Aria blinked. She never dreamed anyone could go on the moon! "Was it pretty? It's always pretty when I see it here." Aria liked sitting out on full moon nights, watching it. She said once there was a man on the moon, cause there looked to be a face there. Ian thought she was joking, until he saw it too. Rynn explained what it really was, but she liked watching the moon too, felt like she was at home, just watching. Like she belonged there. "You can hold your breath? I can breath water like the fish Rynn has. It's not much of a power or anything though." "My Mamma and Aunty Whitey went to the moon to save an orphanage that was being taken over by bad guys. They saved it and now they work to find good homes for all the kids that are there. Aunt Whitey stays there most of the time to deal with business on that end." She makes little quotey fingers around 'deal with business'. "She pretty much just watches computers and draws while Mamma runs her butt off down here trying to find them all good homes." She fiddles with the wrist wrap a bit more. "But Aunty Whitey comes and visits and she is very nice. She and Mamma might even be having a baby soon." A baby? Aria hadn't seen a baby before. "We have an orphan at home too, Malthius. He's pretty nice, quiet though." She sat down, a bit bored now. "So...what do you do in your spare time?" "We have an orphan too. She snuck home with us. Her name is Shenandoah. And she is a Star Child. And she is very smart. And she is very pretty. I like to fix things. And paint things. And sculpt things. Mamma has a big box at home full of art stuff. And she bought me some paint and some erasers that I can sculpt." Hitomi has the awful habit of speaking very fast and jumping around subjects. It's a talent to be able to follow her longer sentences. "What about you?" Aria giggled, actually able to keep up with her. "I like to go swimming, can't now though. Unless it's in the tub. Too cold. I play with all the pets we have, games, watch anime...Rynn has a huge collection of dvds. Ian and I, we do treasure hunts, explore..." She trailed off, trying to think. "Sometimes I just snuggle to Ian. We relax that way, tickle each other. Have a good time. I like art too, I just don't paint all that much. Never tried to sculpt anything. Is that fun?" "I've never been swimming. Not much water on the moon. I don't have anyone to really snuggle with. Everyone is so much bigger than I am! It would be nice though. Shenandoah is probably my closest friend right now, but she's a lot bigger than me to." She flicks some more at her painty arms before looking back at her again, "And sculpting is a LOT of fun. And it's a lot of fun to mess up cause then you can just squish it all back together and start all over again. It's hard to do that with paint. Do you have any pets? I have a pixa mouse named Eurydice. She's an air mouse. She's blue and has clouds." Aria nodded. "We have a ton of pets. Pixa dogs, cats, and mice. And we got little dragons for Christmas. And there is firebirds, and a griffon Nigel got me, he was my guy, but he moved away I think. I got a water kitty and Ian's got a earth doggy. Hehe, they match us." Maybe she could talk Rynn into getting her some clay or something to make into things. That'd be neat. "Ian's a feien like I am. He's green marked, and a plant element. He can make plants grow fast! I'm water. What are you?" Her coloring didn't give hers away. Well, a lot of feien, you couldn't guess on their coloring either. Hitomi's eyebrows rose in shock, "That's a LOT! Mamma can't fit that many in the apartment. We live in the city when we aren't on a shuttle. Mamma keeps an herb garden. They always die though. A person like Ian would be helpful. I'm air, which is weird since I can't really fly all that well. That's why I can hold my breath though." "... so, you're saying you want to go on in by yourself while I go get those things?" Wren raised an eyebrow, head tilting to the side to look at Kojak who was sitting upon his shoulder. He stretched out and smiled easily before standing up. "I can take care of myself," Kojak replied before lifting himself up into the air and looking around Wren's head for the darkly glowing blue gem there. He gave it a wave before looking back at Wren and going back to stand on his shoulder. "You won't be long, so it won't hurt to be by myself." "I guess." Wren sighed, shaking his head. "All right, fine. I'll take you on inside. Can't see why you can't wait for another day ..." "You're clingy, you know that?" Kojak tilted his head to one side, smiling still as if trying to charm Wren out of glaring at him. "The obvious wins again," he muttered, opening up the shop door so that they could go inside. Both of them were all most immediately listening to hear if anybody else was inside. Air was a interesting element. But one that couldn't fly well? That was odd. "I see." That was very odd. "We got a cottage. Rynn likes having a lot of pets and others around. She use to get lonely and since we all came alone, she's happy." "Well it's good that she's happy. It would be bad if she was still sad all the time living with you guys." Hitomi's long bouncey ears perk up upon hearing the door open. She notices that it is a bondmate and his Feien. And on top of it, a boy feien, her own age! She starts tucking stray hairs back into place and flecking the rest of the pant off herself before he could get a good enough look at her. Aria looked over, smiling. Another interesting looking feien! "Hey!" she said, waving him over. "Come join us!" "Over there." Kojak pointed and then waved at the sound of one of the feiens waved at them both. Wren wrinkled his nose up, but complied. It wasn't like it would make him go out of his way. "Be -" "Behave myself?" The feien interrupted, smiling still and Wren just shook his head as he walked over to where the other two feien were settled. "I will, trust me." His attention wasn't even on Wren, more like those other two and looking closely at that. "Somehow, I know you will." The words were murmured quietly and before Wren even reached the other two, Kojak was all ready on his way over to greet them. "Eh. I'll be back in a bit, all right?" he repeated, feeling a bit wary and worried. "I'll be fine." Kojak twisted, smiling widely at Wren, and waving at him to go out. The man sighed once more before turning to go. It gave Kojak plenty of time to land and smile at the two ladies before him. "Hello," he said pleasantly, smiling all the way. Hitomi smiles widely at the new boy. "Hello! My name is Hitomi. He reminds me a lot of my Mamma. It took a long time for me to convince her I could find my way home this time. I got a little lost last night. Thankfully Shenandoah was awake and was able to help me find my way home." She's babbling more so then usual and she blushes. Aria smiled. "Hi, I'm Aria!" She patted the space beside her. "Have a seat!" She looked over at the new feien, taking in his coloring and markings. "Wow, you're an interesting looking feien! I like your coloring! And you got a tail? How cool!" At least she had lost her feelings of feeling stupid. Kojak blinked a bit. Hitomi's words were kind of like a whirlwind, but he got what she meant. He chuckled, ducking his head down a bit and then grinned. "Wren's clingy," obviously meaning the man that left, "but he's just worried since I just recently ... bloomed." "My name's Kojak, and it's a pleasure to meet the both of you. Hitomi, Aria." He smiled and then took the seat that Aria offered, tail swishing from side to side and then settling as he did. "Thanks," he replied to Aria. If he had been a different sort, he might have felt the urge to blush under the compliments, but he didn't. "I like your colorings too, Aria, and your hair Hitomi." It was interesting to see different feiens beside Valsharess. Aria blushed. She was the type to blush at anything. "I know what you mean. Rynn was the same. She liked having me around. Barely could go anywhere for a while." Aria was one of the first creatures Rynn had adopted. She had been lonely, so she didn't like Aria being out of her sight. There were so new feien nowadays. It was cool. Hitomi smiled and went a sat down next to Kojak. You're hair is very cool too. I like it! Me and Aria were talking about the kinds of things we like to do in our spare time. What about you? What have you been doing in your recently acquired spare time?" "Wren's protective, I think." Paranoid was another way to put it, but Kojak hadn't quite reached the point to think about it that way. His tail swished a little as he watched the other two. Both of them blushing! "I got to come here because he's not that far down the street." "Thanks," he smiled at Hitomi, turning his head to look at her. "Well, I ... haven't really had a chance yet to enjoy it. Learn about what's around me for now, I guess." Since he had only recently come out of his shell -- literally. "You and Mr. Wren could come by my apartment sometime if you like! Me and Mamma live in the city. It's weird how a city can be so big but living spaces can be so small and cramped. But we make do. I like to paint and fix things! You should try painting, I bet you'd be good at it. Or anything else you choose to do I guess." Hitomi fiddles with her hands. She's in an odd state, she's feeling a bit shy and she doesn't know why. It's un-like herself to feel this way. But this is the first young boy Feien she's met so far. "We live out in the woods....it's nice and quiet. Very fun to be there." Aria covered her mouth as she yawned. She glanced to the clock. Boy, it was getting late. "I'm sorry, I'm going to go home now. Getting tired. Nice to have meet you, Hitomi, Kojak." She got up, stretching her wings. She waved, then launched herself out the door. "Nice to have met you, Aria." Kojak waved to her as she left, turning his attention back to Hitomi and smiling again. "Wren lives in a big house with his wife and children. It's kind of quiet." And Kojak lived there now of course and Wren was very good about taking care of him so far. "Maybe we can come visit sometime." He grinned a bit, watching Hitomi. She was fidgeting so much. Kind of like Wren, really, how he was nervous -- it was the first thing he noticed. What could it be that was making her fidget? Wasn't him, was it? "I can all ways try that. Painting? It sounds like it'd be fun." Hitomi waves to Aria as she flies out. "Come by and visit sometime!" She glances around the rest of the shop before realizing that she was now alone with Kojak. Her stomach does flip-flops and she tries to shake it off. She bites her lip nervously as she looks to Kojak, "I made a finger painting earlier of a pretty orange Feien I met last night." Hitomi reaches across the table and pulls it closer. It's not Michelangelo but it is at least recognizable as a picture of Reneeka. Michelangelo? That was unfamiliar. Kojak made a note to ask Wren later about it and he leaned over to look at the picture that Hitomi made and then glance up at her. "It looks good. I don't know who's in the picture." He looked thoughtful, as if he could figure out who it was by just looking. He glanced over at Hitomi again, curiously all most, because of the way she was acting. He just smiled again though and turned his attention back to the painting. "Whoever it is, they're bright." "Her name is Reneeka, I met her last night. She's very bright. And she likes music. Any kind of music. I don't get music most of the time. It's a bunch of loud noise and it hurts my head after a while. So she must be pretty talented. Mamma likes to sing, and that's nice." She picks at the paint still under her fingernails and smiles widely to Wren hoping not to make it so awkward for herself. "Reneeka?" he asked, before letting her continue on. He watched her pick at the paint before smiling a little. "Wren would play music while I was still a nut. Some of it was really good and Wren would sing too." She seemed nervous, but that was fine. It didn't bother him. "Have you thought about listening to different kinds of music to see if they won't hurt your head?" Hitomi shrugged, "I only try and listen to what Mamma has. But after a while I turn it off and tell her to sing instead. One time the radio broke and she wanted me to fix it. So I did but I made it so that it couldn't pick up certain channels that hurt my head. I don't think she ever caught on. She says I'm sneaky." She shrugs as she puts Reneeka's finger painting back where it was on the table. "Singing's better, I think. It sounds real." Kojak smiled, fingers absently starting to tug on his tail before stopping and letting it swish on it's own. "... that is sneaky to do that. Crafty, too. You're good with your hands, aren't you?" he asked, suddenly. She painted and fixed things. She had to be. Hitomi nods, "I can only fix small things though, like radio and circuitry on spaceships. I can get in all the little nooks and crannies cause I'm so small. I can't fix things like cars or repair whole space engines. I can hold my breath for a really long time though so my mom used to ask me to fix things on the outside of the ship. It was fun. And I made a hidden place in the cargo hold so my friend Shenandoah could come home with us without Mamma finding out. And it worked! She lives with us know in the apartment." Her eyes drift from his beautiful smile do his swishing tail and back again. She looks at her own hind quarters before saying, "You have a tail." Those words were like a whirlwind again, but Kojak still seemed to catch it all and nod a little. "Sounds really interesting. I've been seeing what I can do and everything. Don't know if I'll be as good with my hands as you sound like you are." He gave a small glance to her painting and smiled at her. When she mentioned his tail, he actually laughed and looked towards it. He swished it a bit, the tail actually looking to be the same texture as his hair. "I do. Wren was kind of stunned I did. One of his kids has a tail too, he says their useful to have." Of course, none of the other feiens he met so far had a tail -- so it seemed unique to him. Hitomi pictured having a tail protruding from her hind end and she quirked an eyebrow, "It must get in the way sometimes. What happens if you sit on it?" She looked generally concerned, "And what if you were sleeping and rolled over on it?" She began to get a bit worried, "But I suppose you'd get used to it if you had one all the time." Her face stretched as she involuntarily yawned. "I'm feeling very tired. And I'll take me a while to find my way home. I want to make sure I don't get lost this time so Mamma will trust me to go out again." She peers out a nearby window into the sky. "Shenandoah is out so she might be able to help. She helped last time. I really liked talking to you tonight Kojak. I hope you can convince Wren to come by and visit us sometime." There was an odd amount of stress on the word 'really'. She dipped her red quill, always stuck behind her ear, into a bowl of orange paint and scribbled her address on a spare sheet of paper she had been planning to paint on. She hands it to Kojak, "It would be a lot of fun to show you around sometime. It's always good to see sights outside of your own house. At least that's what Shen says." She blows Kojak a kiss and blushes before slowly fluttering out of the shop. "Not so far it hasn't," Kojak replied, thinking about it and then nodding in agreement with himself. "It's just an extension of my body. I think tails help you with balance, Wren mentioned it to me." Though, for a moment, he looked stumped at what he did with his tail while he slept since he hadn't really slept that many times. He'd have to pay attention to it. "... I'm use to it, since it doesn't bother me or hinder me." When Hitomi yawned and stretched he raised an eyebrow. She was sleepy, but it was late so that was natural. Wren had said so before they had gone out. It was part of the reason why he was wary leaving Kojak alone. "Be careful, Hitomi." He took the piece of paper, folding it up so that he keep a good grip on it. His head tilted to the side, eyes narrowing to study her briefly, before simply smiling at him. "It was pleasant talking to you," he said genuinely, "and maybe I will come to visit sometime, to see the sights. If Wren'll let me." He laughed and, if possible, his grin actually got a little wider at the blush and the kiss he was blown. She was nice, kind of like a little whirlwind. With words at least. "Bye!" He waved, winking in return, and then once she was gone set about looking around the shop until Wren returned to pick him up. Not that it was much longer. The man really could be paranoid.

// Compiled Shop RP Log // ( 16.01.05 ; RP ; ... takes place in the shop. )
Maquinar ( Teralinth dKalin ) Reneeka ( TormentedAngie ) Aria ( Rynn ) Hitomi ( Sarabi Adruenna ) Kojak ( azuredreams ) Emperial/Luun ( RikProwley ) Ianios ( Rynn ) The red and tan hunk of flesh that was Maq flew in through the window, heading straight for the item case. A small roll of paper was clenched in one hand, his eyes narrowed with a purpose. If he had to be here, after all, running errands for Q, he'd damn well make it quick.
Unrolling the now crumpled paper, Maq peered at the neatly formed words written on it. A frown creased his brow, and he glanced back up at the items in the case. "What the ******** does a bloom need a rapier for?" he muttered under his breath.
Flitting in through the door, Rene alighted on a table, not bothering to take a look around. Searching the tabletop, she looked for the address that had been written down for her a couple of nights ago. She'd remembered most of it, but not all, and was here for the rest of it, so she could tell her bond, so they'd have it for whenever.
"Oh come on. Where'd it go..." So intent was she on finding the tiny handwriting, that she didn't notice the other fairy also in the shop.
Just as Maq was beginning to roll the paper back up, his attention was caught by the flash of color that had suddenly entered the shop. Turning in that direction, he blinked. Orange? Was that possibly Neruo over there? The items in the case momentarily forgotten, Maq lifted off from there to head over in the newcomer's direction.
It was only when he was almost upon her that he realized that no, it wasn't Neruo. It was actually a female Feien. A rather attractive one at that, for a juvi. A broad grin lit his face as he landed. "Well, hello there. You look like you've lost something." One hand landed idly on his hip as he spoke. "Need some help?"
Suddenly startled by the appearance of a voice, as well as a body that accompanied the voice, Rene nearly fell over. You'd think she'd get used to such appearances, as that's all she'd encountered so far. "I uhh... Well, to be perfectly honest, yes. I have lost something. Somewhere on this table, if I remember correctly, is a bright pink feien's address. Hitomi, I believe her name was." She pondered a moment, then nodded. "Yes. Hitomi was her name. I remembered most of the address, but forgot the last little bit, and came back to retrieve it so my friend could write it down. However... I cant seem to find it now."
Rene wasn't above having someone help, and she nodded again. "Help, would be most appreciated. I believe there's a saying that says... 4 eyes are better than 2?" Frowning slightly, the fairy hoped that she'd said that right. "At least, I think that's what it was..."
"Too bad I don't know this Hitomi, or I'd just tell you how to get there myself," he drawled, starting to look around as well. A Feien sized scrap of paper on this table wouldn't be easy to spot, especially if it had managed to get blown off entirely. Pointing a finger upward, Maq looked back up at her with a raised brow. "Have you tried getting an arial view? Might be easier that way."
Part of him really wanted to see her in flight. Those wings of hers... They looked almost as useless for flying as his own were.
While her own wings weren't exactly the most practical for flying, they served their purpose, as long as she flapped them about as fast as a hummingbird. Now, the actual speed of a hummingbird's flapping wasn't exactly matchable, but the equivalent for would suffice for a comparision. Fluttering them slowly, she pondered his idea.
"That might work, although I think it would be harder. She wrote it on the table itself, instead of something easily portable, so I'm afraid it might have been....wiped away?" Rene was pretty sure the whole idea was a lost cause. It wasn't like she wasn't going to see Hitomi again, but she felt kind of responsible for having not been able to remember the entire address as she'd planned on doing.
On the table itself? Now that was a weird place to write something. "Guess that leaves out the address having blown off somewhere, eh?" He chuckled, the sound rumbling deep in his scarred chest. Taking a closer look at the table, he tried to figure out if he spotted anything that remotely resembled writing.
"I think, even if it wasn't wiped away, it's pretty much lost." Maq motioned to the wide expanse of wood around them, before his hand lifted up to run through his hair, sending the whole vibrant mass standing on end. "Maybe you'll run into her again."
It is a warm day outside and cool breezes blow through the shop. Along with the breezes a cheerful looking tickle-me-pink colored Feien. Her abilities hinder her from flying very well so she seems to fly more like a butterfly. Her body leads the way while her large feathered wings flap behind her sporradically and with small bursts of energy. She alights on a table to rest a moment before venturing around the shop again.
Aria flew into the shop, singing softly to herself. She wanted to get some more cloth, to make some beds for all the pets they had running around. There were so many and Rynn hadn't had the time.
Spying two familar red/orange feien, she grinned. Maq was there! She dove down, hovering behind him, putting her hands over his eyes. "Guess who?"
Nodding solemnly, Reneeka resigned herself to having been careless and lost it. But she also knew this feien was right, and that she'd see Hitomi again, so it wasn't such a horrible loss. "You're right. I'm sure I'll see her again."
It wasn't till a moment later that it hit her. "Mercy me, where are my manners. I apologize. Here we are, having a conversation, and I haven't introduced myself. My name is Reneeka." A flash from her previous encounters, namely with Ian, reminded her to extend her hand out for a friendly shake.
Something out of the corner of her eye looked rather familiar, but Rene knew her manners mattered at the moment, if only to herself, so she didn't turn to look quite yet.
She was quite surprised when yet another familar blur appeared behind her current company. Waving a little to Aria, Rene smiled warmly.
First the arrival of a bright pink flutter, and now... Reaching up a hand to cover those over his eyes, he ran his fingers along the shape of the digits, then up one wrist and over Aria's forearm. "Hmm... I'm going to have to guess..." His fingers tarried momentarily over the inside of her elbow before he grinned. "Aria?"
This was good. Two relatively well-adjusted adults here to talk things out with a pair of juvies. Much better them than other Feien Maq could think of. Of course, with his eyes covered like this, he missed Reneeka offering her hand.
Hitomi peered out the windows hoping she'd lost it. After getting home extremely late last night Mamma saw fit to buy her a set of Sprockets. Or as Hitomi liked to call them, Watchdogs. Even though they bore no resemblance to dogs in anyway. She had just turned to fly towards the other group when she hears the familiar buzz of the Watchdog that was sent to follow her around for the day. The almost translucent misty grey shell of the Air Sprocket comes whooshing through the window just after her. Hitomi rolled her baby blue eyes and took off floyings towards the group, two of which she recognized. "Hello Everyone!"
Aria giggled, letting go of Maq's eyes and waving to Reneeka. "Hi!" She said, coming around front, and landing. The caress in her elbow felt good, way good, but there were too many other feien about. "Hi Reneeka, Hitomi!"
She grinned up at Maq, her eyes sparkling. Had he been alone...well, she would suggest a snug off on a shelf or something. But with the children, that was out of the question.
Reneeka glanced down at her untaken hand, then to his eyes being covered and quickly retracted her hand, blushing. "Hello Aria!" Another voice joined them and she turned to greet it as well. "Hello Hitomi! We were...sort of just talking about you! Though I assure you it was all good."
Turning back to the rest of the feien, Reneeka observed them all. It was becoming apparent to her that none were alike. In color, shape, size, or demeanor. Not that that was a bad thing or anything. Just a simple observation she'd made so far.
"So all you lovely ladies have already met?" Maq laughed, as he wrapped a friendly arm around Aria's shoulders. "Good, good. Strength in numbers, and all that."
As he took in the two youngters, his fingers unconciously tightened on the roll of paper in his hand, forgotten. "Guess you two need to know who I am... Maquinar's the name, but you're free to call me Maq."
The door to the shop was opened and there was all most immediately growling noises heard from the entrance. Kojak came in, all most a roll in the air as he twisted to look around at Wren. He was getting a hang of the flying thing, even if he wasn't all that fast.
"Look, Kojak," the blue totetsu in Wren's arms squirmed and growled, trying to get free, "you stay here while I try to get Ripper a collar and a lead." At the mentioning of a collar, the totetsu started to squirm more. "... before he bites somebody else's arm off," he muttered quietly, before speaking louder, "take care of yourself. I'll be back, okay?"
"Okay. I'll be fine." Kojak nodded his head, happy that Wren was too distracted by the beast in his arms to be worried about him. Then again, at least the thing wasn't trying to eat him like it had some. He turned back around after the door shut and let his attention drift over to the others in the shop. He knew two of those present at least, but one reminded him of the painting Hitomi showed him. So, of course, he started to head that direction.
Aria grinned, wrapping an arm around Maq's waist. "Yep, we met last night, the night or so before..." She trailed off, seeing Kojak and his bond enter. "Hey! Nice to see you again so soon!" She waved him over, grinning.
She glanced up at Maq, not noticing the paper in his hand. "Hey, Maq, you know I got a near twin? I never caught her name last night though...." She trailed off, feeling a little uneasy again. That one had really raised some selfdoubt in her, but she shrugged it off. Most other feien seemed pleasent and she wasn't about to let her near twin ruin it for her.
Hitomi clasps her hands behind her back and rocks on the balls of her feet and smiles widely. "Really? I've only been back for a few days and already the talk of the town!" She looked to Maq as he introduced himself, "It's nice to meet you!"
As she heard the door open she leaned back to look and see who else was comming in. A busy day at the shop! She saw the fluffy swirls of black and yellow and smiled, "Hello Kojak!!"
His name was Maq. It seemed to fit him rather well, though Rene wasn't one to be a good judge of how names fit with their owners. But it was definately a name she could remember, and that's all that mattered right?
Peering around, the feien caught sight of yet another fairy nearing them, a different one than rest. This one was dark skinned, as she was, but he just seemed different somehow. She liked his hair though. It was poofy. Looked like it was probably pretty soft. But she pried her attention from the newcomer. It seemed rude to just stare, and she didn't want to seem rude to anyone.
All this time, Aria's conversation was lost on her. Rene hadn't heard a word of it at all. But Hitomi's bright voice greeting the newcomer brought Rene out of her silence, if only enough to make her appear like she'd been listening the whole time, instead of thinking.
"Near twin?" The idea struck something in Maq, but he wasn't qute able to figure out what. "You've got a near twin?"
The arrival of yet another juvi made Maq wonder if there had been some sort of meeting announcement that he'd missed last time he was here. The faint furrow that had begun to creep over his face at the "near twin" issue smoothed as he smiled at the newcomer, and a male at that. Would that mean there'd be some competition now? Damn, but Maq hoped so. He was aching for a good fight.
"Hitomi, Aria, hello." Kojak finally reached his destination, still hovering a bit to get in a little more practice with his flying. He smiled at the both of them, that charming smile. "It's good to see you two again."
Of course, he eventually did land and a smile was given in the direction of the other two. Particularly since it looked like the other one had been paying attention to him. His tail swished from side to side before curling around his leg briefly.
His gaze focused on the other male, the first one that he had seen, and he peered at him intently for a moment before looking to the other girl -- the brightly colored one. "Kojak's my name, and it's a pleasure to meet you two." Of course, he meant the new he didn't know. ( Apparently manners when it came to introductions was the one thing Wren got into his brain so far. )
Hitomi felt her face flush again and she suddenly got very jittery again. She was feeling fine just a moment ago. She sprocket that followed her in apparently felt the change of emotion and whirred a bit closer to her. Hitomi snapped her head to look at it and it seemed to back off a bit. "Hello Kojak, it's great to see you again." She looked to Aria, "And you too. I had fun last night meeting you guys!"
Aria nodded, frowning as she recalled Q. "She's shorter than I am, not by much though. Long blue hair, large blue dragon wings, her marking are blue, like mine, but circles." Of course Aria would refer to her wings as dragon wings and not bat. "She never told me her name, but she had the prettiest bloom with her...kinda friendly, but not, you know?"
She glanced up at him, nuzzling in close. She hoped this near twin wouldn't come and take her Maq from her. Well, Maq wasn't actually hers, but she liked thinking he was. Other than Ian, there really wasn't others she was sort close too.
"My name is Reneeka." Nodding towards Kojak, she acknowledged his name, staring at him maybe a little too long, but with innocent intent. So she could put a name with a face later on. Though she did happen to notice his tail and pondered about that for a moment....
Aria's description of another feien caught her attention, and she listened carefully. So far she hadn't encountered any such feien, but it would be good to know what others might be out there.
The strangest thing happened then, at least for anyone who had ever known Maq. As realization dawned on him, his bright orange eyes narrowed, blazing almost dangerously. This was the only emotion that showed, however, while his smile slipped away to near nothingness. He spoke softly, more of Aria's benefit than any of the others. "That would have been Quantel."
Humming Beethoven's Ninth, Emperial wandered into the shop as if her presence there was somehow a happy accident. This could not have been further from the truth.
Nestled into her hand and trembling almost violently from cold and fear, Luun began to doubt that he could go through with this. Not that he'd thought he could in the first place. Emperial had insisted.
"You want to do a breeding?" she had said. "Then we'll go to the shop and find two feien to help you. Everything'll be just fine!"
And Luun dearly, dealy wished he could believe her, but as he began to make out the noise of feien voices he only wanted to crawl deep down into Emperial's shirt and bury himself there where no one would find him.
Instead, Emperial called out a greeting to the other feien, mindful to shield Luun lest the little fellow faint. "Afternooon everyone!"
Aria looked at him, blinking. She was a little unnerved by his expression. "You know her?" she asked, her voice soft in return. Judging by his expression, she wasn't one he liked.
Looking up as she saw the shop owner enter, she grinned. "Hi Em!"
It looked like the two adults were focused on one another and Kojak only spared them a brief glance before letting them be. They looked attached to one another, in some way.
Seeing the flush on Hitomi's face, he did his best to not grin widely, but briefly looked curiously at the thing that was hovering about her. "It was fun. Particularly to get out of the house." Kojak shook his head before focusing on Reneeka. So she was the one that Hitomi had painted in the picture. "You're Reneeka? Hitomi spoke about you last night." A little bit, at least. She was brighter than he imagined, but it was cool.
Of course, at the sight of somebody else entering, he turned and looked towards them. His tail loosened and swished as he smiled in greeting, looking at the person curiously.
"Hello!" said Em, about to tack on Aria's name, only she had managed to forget it. "Maquinar, uhhh.... everyone."
Hitomi looked up as she saw someone MUCH larger than herself. It was defiantley a person like Mamma and Auntey Whitey, but this guy was different. Mamma had told her about this lady. She was in charge of the shop and she was the lady who saved the Feien. Hitomi fluttered up a bit higher, the lady had something in her hand and she wanted to know what it was. After fluttering abotu a foot higher Hitomi could see that it was a small boy who was a very pretty shade of blue. And he was shaking. She had hopes that he would come over and chat with them. It was always fun meeting new people.
Reneeka couldn't help but notice the change in Maq, and wondered why exactly he would react thusly to knowing whom Aria was speaking of. But she didn't want to pry, nor did he seem like he really wished to talk about it, so she wasn't going to be the one to implore futher on the subject.
Kojak wasn't the only one curious about the larger person entering. It wasn't like Rene hadn't seen other people similar to her bond, but this one held her interest for a moment before the fairy remembered that she'd been spoken to. "Hitomi spoke of me? I hope it was all good things." This time was Reneeka's turn to blush.
Spotting Em, Maq grinned again, Quantel momentarily forgotten. The chick didn't matter much, anyway. He lifted a hand in greeting. "Hey, Em! Long time no see!" Come to think of it, he couldn't remember having seen the woman since he grew. Guess his coloring made him easier for humans to remember, regardless of his size.
He nodded a bit to Aria, adding out of the corner of his mouth before he forgot, "Quantel is Tera's other Feien. You might want to steer clear of her."
Aria nodded, making a note of it. If Maq said to steer clear of her, she would. She trusted Maq. "I will," she said, smiling up to him, nuzzling into him. She wondered why Em was here, as she never seemed to be while Aria was. Maybe they had always missed each other.
"All good things and a painting of you she did," Kojak spoke to her, grinning and glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. He winked at her briefly before nodding his head towards Em -- since everyone was calling her that ( which meant was she the one that Wren and Halo had mentioned to him? ) -- as she looked just as curious as he was.
"Hello," Kojak said smoothly, still watching Em, and then looking up at Hitomi who was trying to get a flying feien's eye view of things it looked like.
"Say," said Emperial, addressing the gaggle of feien at large, "I'm looking for a pair of feien who might be interested in breeding. Does anyone know where I can find some?" In her cupped hands, Luun quaked and quivered, barely daring to even peek at the feien assemblage.
Oh my god... Aria thought. That's Ian and I!
"Em! I am wanting to breed! But Ianios is at home! It won't take me too long to go get him!" she cried out, unlatching herself from Maq. Granted, if Maq had asked, she'd have said yes in a heartbeat. But he hadn't, so she was going to go get Ian.
"I'll return shortly!" Launching herself from the countertop, she flew out the door, as fast as she could go.
Maq was damned glad now that Tera had made him go to the shop for Quantel. After her big speech about wanting to breed with him, she'd be all over Em at the moment, and another bloom was the last thing Q needed in her possession. After all, he was still coming up with ways to get the spiky thing away from her.
Aria, though. He was more than happy that now she was getting her chance. As she zipped away, he grinned widely. "She's been looking forward to this for a while now," he supplied for Em's benefit.
Hitomi strains to keep herself aloft as she ever so slowly drifts back down to the table. She quickly scampers back over to Reneeka and Kojak and smiles, "There's a little boy in her hand. He's blue. And he has no wings. He looks very scared."
"Wow," blinked Em, looking down at Luun. "That was easy." Luun whimpered something that might have been a word of agreement, but might have just been a random convulsion.
Em shrugged slightly and made her way around the counter to sit and await Aria's return.
"A painting of me? I'm quite flattered..." No one had ever done a painting of her before, but then too, it never occured to her that maybe the fact that she was a rather new face around here might have something to do with that.
Looking up towards the one called 'Em', Reneeka offered her own greetings. "Hello there." She was curious as well to know what was cupped in Em's hands, but didn't know if she should investigate. By the way the hands were held, it appeared that the person was protecting, in some way shape manner or form, whatever was in them. That alone told Rene that maybe she should just stay where she was, and she'd find out eventually, maybe.
Aria's zipping out of the room barely caught the brightly colored feien's attention though, as Hitomi returned to them. "A little boy? Very scared? Oh the poor thing!" Reneeka could sympathize with being really scared. She herself had been quite... frightened when she first came to the shop. "I do hope he's alright..."
Aria returned within a few minutes, actually exhausted. She had gotten home, explained things in a complete rush to Ian, then headed back out. Ian wasn't far behind her.Once she set down on the counter, he buzzed in. Aria's excitement had gotten to him as well. His heart was pounding so hard, he was sure everyone could hear it.
He landed down beside Aria, who was in the process of hugging Maq once again. "I''m going to have blooms!" she cried.
Ianios smirked. "Well, I'm here." He smiled at Em and waved. "Howdy!" He had heard from Aria on the flight over that she was shop owner and she could help them breed. It was finally happening. He hoped Cel was alright with this, where ever he was.
The mentioning of breeding was vaguely interesting to Kojak, never mind the response in brought out of Aria and the speed in which she disappeared. Of course, it was something he only thought about briefly before turning to look at Hitomi and Reneeka.
"Yes, it was bright, like you." Kojak grinned, looking at Hitomi as she touched back down and shared the information about which Em was hiding within her hands. Another feien? Another young boy like himself? Protecting him from them perhaps? It seemed that way since he hadn't been revealed and Hitomi mentioned shaking. Speaking of which ...
"Thanks for sharing, Hitomi." Kojak gave her another smile, but his eyes cut back to Em. He didn't know quite else what to say, but he nodded in agreement with Reneeka's words absently. Perhaps he wasn't fond of crowds?
Em smiled at the nearby feien but quickly turned her attention to Luun. "We're all done here, and we'll be back home soon," she murmured, storking Luun's back gently with her thumb. The motion did not seem to reassure him in the slightest.
Maq laughed and returned Aria's hug. "That's right! And I couldn't think of a better pair for it."
Aria grinned, smiling. "Thanks, Maq!" She hovered up a bit and kissed him. Then turning to Em, she grinned. "We're ready!"
Ianios nodded. "As we'll ever be!" he added, smiling.
"Breeding. Wow, Mamma said I shouldn't talk about that until I was older. This should be interesting." Her eyes wandered around as she blushed a bit.
"I did a painting of you Reneeka, but I left it at home. Maybe I'll bring it by next time and leave it here so I don't forget it again. And I'll write my address on the back so you can keep it and not forget. I forget a lot of stuff too so it's okay." After seeing Aria zip out and then quickly return with the plant boy she smiled. This must be the one she was blooming with.
"Well, let's head out then," said Em, standing back up and heading for the door. "Nice to see everyone! Have a nice day!" She would have waved, but to do so would deprive Luun of some of his protection.
Aria and Ianios followed, waving to the others. They couldn't wait for this! Both were grinning widely. "Bye!" called Aria as she flew out behind Em.
Maq waved as Aria left, then turned back to the case. He really needed to get these things for Q and get back, before Tera got to worried.
"Thank you Hitomi. I look forward to seeing it." Reneeka grinned. Zipping by her, Aria came back with Ian, and she offered a small wave, though she figured, by the sound of things, the two were quite busy.
"I feel kind of bad for having forgotten some of your address Hitomi, but I got sidetracked on the way home." The feien chuckled, remembering that she'd had to help get one of her 'feien-sitters' unstuck from a small hole he'd managed to get stuck in.
Seeing Aria, Ian, and Em leaving, she waved again, hoping that the little boy in Em's hands would be alright.
Kojak had a fair idea of what breeding meant, but that he wasn't too sure he kept to himself. After all, he wasn't that old and he didn't know everything -- but that was kept to himself and if he got into trouble because of lack of knowledge? He'd work out of it or learn from it.
Which lead to some interesting thoughts, but Kojak smiled and waved goodbye to Aria and her new friend, as well as to Em and the hidden boy within her hands.
His tail swished a bit, back and forth as he thought, and he smiled again, listening to the other two talk. The last adult left seemed busy trying to get things now and -- address? That reminded him he needed to ask Wren about visiting people in the future.
Reneeka watched as Maq busied himself with getting things, and decided he was best left to what he needed to do. Glancing over to Kojak and Hitomi, both seemed rather quiet. Then too, the entire place seemed rather quiet with the sudden leaving of several bodies. Fidgeting with the end of a braid, Rene wondered what her bond was doing right now. It was getting rather late, Angie would probably be coming by to see if she was around soon. The bright fairy was torn between staying and socializing more, or going home to relieve the probably aching mind of her bond. Such a tough decision...
Raphael entered the store quickly, but not quietly as he flapped through the open window. He hadn't visited in awhile, so therefore was not so surprised when he spotted three juveniles and an adult he had never seen before. Quieting down so as not to draw too much attention to himself, the yellow feien steered himself upwards and sideways and landed on the rafters, where a great amount of dust had gathered.
"... what was that?" Kojak twisted around, turning and looking to see where the noise came from. He could've sworn he heard something, except that there was nothing there in the direction he looked.
The shop had pretty much gone silent and he gave a smile to both Hitomi and Reneeka before continuing to look around. He could've sworn he heard something.
Reneeka twitched, tilting her head as she listened around them. Too silent... except for something above them. Little particles of falling dust raining down upon her alerted the brightly colored feien to something around them. "Hello? Is anyone there?"
Zero would seriously be mad, but at this point, Ryuusei didn't really care : She needed a breath of fresh air, and it was the only other place she knew. So she escaped by a window and flew all the way from the appartment to the shop, zipping into it and welcoming the warmth. God, it was COLD. She tightned the blue scarf she wore, even if she was inside.
She inched in, not really expecting that there would be alot of people, after all there hadn't the other times she had came. Well, so much for peace and sillence...
She glanced up at the rafters, spotting a golden feien. Blinking, she fluttered up.
"Is this a private rafter, or is there room for one more ?" She asked, a small smile inching on her face in dispice it all.
Raphael panted slightly, partly from exhaustion at having flown so far, and partly from relief at not having been seen. Err, except he had been seen. He looked up at the yellow feien, first surprised, and then embarassed as he quickly stood up, the beginnings of a blush appearing on his face. His face looked confused at her question, but he attempted an answer. "W-well..I think the rafter b-belongs to the shop..." He paused, "Sure." He extended his hand, as he remembered it being the polite thing to do. "My n-name is Raphy- err, Raphael."
Kojak was about to join Reneeka in looking up before the door to the shop entered and Wren appeared in the doorway. "Sit. Stay. Do NOT bite any passerbys. I swear, what got into you today, Ripper?" Wren had gotten the collar and lead he had mentioned, but apparently the collar was in a bag he was carrying and the lead was dangling from where it hung around his neck. "Kojak?" he called.
"Just a moment!" Kojak responded before quickly turning to look at Reneeka. "It was nice to meet you. Maybe we'll meet again in the future? I've got to go, though." He gave her a smile and another to Hitomi that carried a wink. "And I think I may come visit you, Hitomi." He spoke, giving them both a wave as his goodbye and making his way over to Wren. He landed on the man's shoulder and quickly started to speak into his ear as they left -- totetsu in tow.
Ryuusei blinked, not really understanding why he was so nervous. Did she look like a demon from hell or something ? o_O
"Ryuusei." She answered, shaking his hand. "Pleased to meet you."
She fluttered and sat on the rafter, glancing downward. The view from here was pretty cool.
He gave a meek smile and sat down as well, causing more dust to fly about as his wings stirred it up. He looked at it curiously as it spun about. And felt an odd tingling sensation in his nose. Strange! He frowned slightly. It was horribly uncomfortable. He tried to ignore it, but it wouldn't go away...he clutched at his nose, wondering if he could smother it out, when, suddenly - "ACHOO~!" He sneezed. Feien-sized dust particles and mucuous shot from his nose, and (luckily enough) into his hand. His blush deepened.
Reneeka nodded, smiling warmly at Kojak. "It was also quite nice to meet you as well." Glancing towards the window at the outside she gasped slightly. "I should get headed home. I'm sure we'll see each other again sometime. Perhaps soon. See you later!" Turning to Hitomi, Rene waved apologetically.
"As much as I hate to, I should go. My companion probably wonders where I'm at, as I didn't say I'd be gone quiet this long. It was good to see you again! Have a safe trip home!" With that, the fairy shot out the door like she'd been launched from a slingshot. Homeward bound, boy did she ever have some adventures to tell Angie!

// Compiled Shop RP Log // ( 23.01.05 ; RP; ... takes place in the shop. )
Fifth ( RikProwley ) Kojak ( azuredreams ) To say that Simon and Fifth did not get along was a bit of an understatement. The two seemed to come from completely different universes; it was hard to imagine that they were related. So when Fifth heard about the new School of Magic, it was no surprise that Simon told him to go read about it in the shop and would say no more. So Fifth ambled along to the shop to figure out what was so great that it had Simon all locked up and studying and not sharing. Not Sharing was the big tipoff. When people were Not Sharing, that meant they possessed something worthwhile. Rather than bother Simon about it (since that might lead to being reprimanded again) Fifth decided to try and see what all the fuss was about. The juvenile flew in to the shop as quickly as he could -- my, but it was cold out! -- and glanced around. He broke into a grin. If anyone was here, he'd flush them out! "Halloooooo," Fifth called.
It was another late night at the shop for Kojak. Granted, for a change when he arrived just a few minutes previous, the place had been empty. Empty enough that Wren, who had Mael with him, had given pause about leaving him behind. What was it about that man that he couldn't quite catch onto the fact he was fine on his own? Then again, if it didn't come to that Kojak wouldn't have to come up with a new phrase every time for Wren to realize that he could take care of himself. ... at least here. Granted, that was a few minutes ago and now that he was inside, he was on his mission to investigate whatever he could get too. Mostly he was reading the information available to him. Being in the dark, literally and figuratively, was not all that fun. At the sound of another voice, he all most jumped, but managed to stop himself. The reaction minimalized and hidden. Probably was another feien like himself that came into the shop. A quick look proved it. "Hello," he called back, moving to the edge of the counter where he had settled in between reading different things.
An unfamiliar face. Fifth could scarcely contain his glee as he drifted forward. But he could contain his hospitality. He would never, ever make that mistake again. "What's your name?" he asked.
"Kojak." That charming smile of his was in place and he studied the other feien before him. This one was around his age, at least in appearance. "What's yours?" he asked.
"Fifth," said Fifth, and wondered if he should go around telling people his name was actually Sixth or Seventh. Not that they wouldn't figure out eventually. Lies had a bad way of catching up to the liar. "Are you here about the magic school?" He smiled disarmingly, showing perhaps a tiny bit more tooth than was actually necessary.
There was something about this Fifth. Not that Kojak could place it, but he seemed all right. Not nearly as quick with words as Hitomi was ( not that she was quick to have something to say all the time, but that she could speak very, very fast ).
"Nice to meet you," Kojak replied, his smile all most an echo of Fifth's. "I was just about to go have a look at it." Since he was curious, but that was about it.
"Ah, so was I," smiled Fifth, and went bobbing through the air towards the notice board. It was hard to miss the notice. The title of it, "School of Artifice Sign-up" was in a large font, bolded, and underlined. Twice. And without even bothering to read the text, Fifth looked down at the sign-ups and saw two names. Simon. Aquaphina. So Simon hadn't been lying, or if he was lying, had found some really good cover. Fifth frowned.
Kojak gave Fifth a curious look, but he was in the air after him just a few seconds behind. Not only was it hard to miss the notice, but even from a little ways away you could read the title of it. He slipped closer, hovering a little to read all the information there. He gave a brief glance to Fifth, an eyebrow raised at the frown, but said nothing and continued to read. At the moment, he was more interested in reading than seeing just what could be so bad about the notice to cause someone to frown.
Fifth went back up, read over the main area of the text, and shrugged. "Bor-ing," he concluded, and rolled his eyes. Then he looked at Kojak, wondering what this other juvenile's thoughts would be. There was only one correct train of thought, of course. But Fifth wanted to see if the other feien would follow it.
Kojak gave into skimming eventually, once he got the general idea of this school of magic. It didn't seem to be something he would be joining in -- and for Fifth either from his comment. "It's not as interesting as I thought it would be." He said finally, noting that only two people had signed up so far, and then looking back at Fifth.
Fifth took this as a signal that he had found someone who might have a decent level of intelligence. "What we really need is a school of blowing stuff up, or interrogation techniques, or something." It never occurred to Fifth to wonder if he might meet his own stringent tests for "intelligence" when it came to the art of conversation.
"Or just look those things up yourself if there's no school for it?" Kojak offered, not sure what to think about those kinds of things coming up in conversation. After all, there were those in Wren's home that spoke of those topics freely ( granted, they didn't notice Kojak was around ) and they seemed a little on the shady side. "I agree there should be something else ..." That didn't have to do with hands.
"Well, what about a school that lets us control our human bonds or possess other people's bodies, or animate the dead?" Fifth said helpfully.
"I think I can agree about controlling our human bonds." Kojak nodded his head. Since if he controlled Wren he wouldn't have to worry about the constant lurking or the worry from the other. It was something else. "Not sure about the other two. Maybe just something to learn ... control? Any kind?" Control of any kind of was a good thing. Though Kojak was trying to learn to control his reactions.
"Exactly," said Fifth, glad he had been able to point this young feien in the right direction. He had sewn the seeds of dissent! Come the revolution! Fifth gave a light snicker at that thought. He quickly realized a light snicker without explanation was hardly the sort of thing sane people did and quickly resumed talking: "Say, how old are you? Is your bond somewhere nearby?"
No, a slight snicker without an explanation lead to one getting odd, slightly curious and perplexed looks, which is exactly the one that Kojak gave Fifth. It faded and turned into a slight smile. "Hm." Looking thoughtful for a moment, Kojak finally replied. "A few days over a week? ... and my bond left with his child before you arrived." The look on his face was one that was curious to know just why he was asking.
"That young!" exclaimed Fifth, already pondering all the wonderful things he could "teach" Kojak. It was best to get them while they were young. "Then you shouldn't worry about anything, because I know all there is to know about the feien! I live with the shop owner and the summoners who created us. Nobody knows more about it than me."
"... nobody seems to notice." That Kojak was that young. At least, from those he ran into. He was just another juvenile, that was it. "Nobody knows more than you?" he asked, dual colored eyes blinking. Fifth wasn't an adult yet, so ... didn't that mean somebody knew more than him? Then again, he knew things -- probably things that he didn't know. What could it hurt to get information from him for now? "So are you going to tell me things then?" Still, it was a little suspicious. Maybe the snicker clued him in.
"Of course! I can be like your... guide to all things feien." Fifth smiled again, putting some extra oomph into the expression. "But first I have to know where you're coming from, of course. Have you met very many feien so far?"
For once the smile on Kojak's face wasn't as bright as it usually was, his eyes studying Fifth intently. He wasn't quite buying into it, but after a moment he smiled regardless. He'd see where this would go first. "Not that many and most just in passing. There's only one that's really a friend."
"A week old and already a friend! That's very nice," said Fifth, nodding. "But have you met anybody important? Who you know is how you get ahead, and it's important to not get bogged down with people who aren't in a position to help you, like I am." His face took on an expression of seriousness, the sort of over-the-top dramatic seriousness of a bad actor to whom everything must equal life-or-death conflict.
That was true, wasn't it? Kojak needed to see what it was that made those he ran across into being fast talkers. "The only one I've seen that was important is Emperial. She had another hidden in her hands, but I never saw him." That was back when those Aria and Ianios had gone and did a breeding. "But help me how?" How would Fifth help him? Share information with him? Tell him things? What? That's what he was curious about The dramatics were familiar, if only because the house he lived in thrived on dramatics at times -- it was quick to be picked up on.
"Wellll..." Fifth leaned back in the air, the airborne equivalent of rolling back on the balls of his feet. "If you know important people, when you need something done, you can do it! Like in Rwanda." His eyes twinkled with mischief.
R-what? "Like in what?" Kojak asked, raising himself up some so that he could look at Fifth's face, genuinely curious. "I know," he continued after a second, "what you mean," I think, "but something like that ... don't you have to do something for that person in return?"
"You store up favors," said Fifth assertively. "In Rwanda, there was a huge rebellion and a million people died. One man was the manager of a hotel, and he had stored up favors with the important people around him. He called those favors in when it counted the most, and as a result his family didn't die." And he saved the lives of twelve hundred other people, but that part did not interest Fifth.
"... all right. That makes sense." Kojak said after a moment of contemplation. He didn't really see where this would be a help to him, but if things got bad, he could all ways take care of himself. ( Until things got too bad and bit him in the arse, but he'd learn one way or another. Hard way or not. ) Making a small note to look up this Rwanda place and find out the story, he finally replied. "So, then, that leaves us where for right now?"
"You have much to learn," said Fifth. He reached out and gave Kojak a pat on the back. "But that's okay, because now you know who to come to learn all of it. I know who the important people are, and if you know Emperial, then you can easily find me because I live with her. She's very important. She has her own security guards."
Kojak gave him a look at the pat, but shrugged his shoulders. His tail loosened, no longer wrapped around his leg, and swished a bit. "I suppose I do," he said slowly. He was really going to think about this later and figure out what exactly was going on. "Well, if I come to see you it won't be a problem with the security guards, will it?" Particularly if he was going to learn anything from Fifth by visiting him.
"Oh, no, just don't, like, throw things at the windows. One feien came around a few days ago and did that and the guards nearly shot him, because he was attacking the room Emperial was in. But he wasn't really a very important feien, so even he had gotten blasted, it wouldn't have been a big loss. You always have to strive to make yourself important, you know, or people won't mind killing you." Where exactly Fifth had gotten these ideas was unclear; the only thing clear was the fact he believed in his statements.
If somebody believed in themselves and their ideas and could convincingly say them, it was given somebody else was bound to believe that. Whether Kojak did or not wasn't exactly clear yet. He still wasn't sure, but he wasn't going to turn down anything.
The only reaction that came from that particular tale was that Kojak's eyes widened a little and his tail stopped moving for just a moment. "I'll remember that," he replied, "all of it." He looked like he was thinking of something before speaking. "The more people you know and importance you have ... You'd have greater," there was a second pause as he thought of the word, "influence." He smiled, that wide easy going grin. The one he was stopping sometimes because of the reactions it got, but he didn't bother at this moment.
"Precisely," Fifth beamed back, nodding with enthusiasm. "You're bound to become important, now that you know all this. And you never know, maybe one day we'll be in a position to help each other out. Nice tail, by the way. It marks you as different. Like my horns do." Always throw in a compliment.
"Thanks." Kojak replied, all most reflexively. His tail continued it's movement before eventually curling around his leg. "Your horns look good on you." One compliment deserved another, never mind the horns were fitting on Fifth in some way. "Then we just remember those things and we can make it to being important," Kojak said with a grin. Among other things, most likely. It made sense to him, somehow.
"Hm, it's getting pretty late," noted Fifth. "I should probably be getting back home. Is your bond supposed to be coming back to pick you up or something? Have you learned your way around Gaia yet?" Do you taste like honey?
"I know my way around." The necessary paths anyway, not all, but was he going to admit that. "My bond's probably on the way back here to get me. I don't think he's inclined to not pick me up this late." Kojak actually rolled his eyes, lifting himself up some as if he could somehow manage to see beyond what was visible and look outside. He'd ignore that shiver that went up his spine for some odd reason.
"Good. I'm going to go home; it's really too cold in here for my tastes! But come visit my house any time." And there was that predatory smile again, the same one used at the beginning of the conversation, with just a little bit too much tooth.
Kojak just smiled in return, warmly and brightly. What had he gotten into? Any concerns or worries he had didn't really show up, except in the way his tail loosened and twitched a little. "I'll remember that. You can come by and visit me if you'd like. It's all ways warm because my bond can't stand the cold, but maybe later." Dual colored eyes, for just a moment, focused on those teeth before the door to the shop opened up and suddenly shut. "... coldcoldcoldcold." The red head muttered, shaking himself and rubbing his hands up along his arms and then tightening his coat. Pushing up his glasses he looked around before focusing his attention on Kojak and Fifth. "Hey Kojak," he said with a smile and then just nodded in Fifth's direction. Or maybe he made an er noise, since he had no clue who the other feien was. Kojak shook his head. "Like I said, he'd be here," the words were murmured for just Fifth to hear. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Fifth," he spoke louder, an arm extended towards the other, to at least shake hands before departing. Wren would give him a moment or two anyway, since the red head was easily distracted by the notices in the shop.
"Yes, a real pleasure." Fifth smiled at Kojak and then Wren as he darted out through the door and disappeared.

// Compiled Shop RP // ( 04.03.05 ; RP; ... taking place at the shop. )
Simon ( RikProwley ) Kojak ( azuredreams ) Aquaphina ( Axeonos ) Ryuusei ( Zero Dream ) Sunil ( kamtrouble ) The revisions for the front board were ready so, against his wishes, Simon returned to the feien shop. This time he came without Careli. It was unintentional. He would have preferred to have Careli with him, but she had schoolwork to do, and it was either perform his duties as shop owner or waste his time doing nothing.
So he swallowed his concerns and headed for the shop. Now that he was just outside it, he wondered if this was a good idea. It seemed to be deserted inside... perhaps he could just post this information up and leave without incident. He fluttered inside.
Problems arose when Simon neared the board. He held several papers rolled up under his arm and now had to figure out how to get them out of his hands and onto the board where they belonged. This was not a task he could accomplish with one hand, or even two. Perhaps if he had Magic hand he could pull itoff by himself, but he didn't. If he'd just waited and brought Careli...
Groaning, Simon placed the papes down on the shop counter. They quickly unrolled; he'd be unable to re-roll them by himself if he decided to give up. Well, then, he wouldn't. He'd see this through to the end.
The choice to come to the shop was quickly made for Kojak, if only for a little silence and lack of bawling from the recently arrived addition to the house. What his bonded thought he could do to make the fox-child stop crying, he had no clue.
Going into the shop, squirming in all most, he made a quick look around to see if anybody was around. Honestly, it felt like his ears were ringing, but that could've been from being too close to a particularly loud shriek from a child.
"Hello?" he called out, voice firm, raising himself up so that he could -- well, someone near the board, right?
There were several unused pushpins scattered around the board; Simon tugged out seven one by one and laid them down on the counter next to the papers. Now the only issue was space. The board was overfull already. Removing the outdated information helped, but since the new info was longer than the original...
Simon looked over, wondering if he was suppose to say anything specific in response. He wasn't being specifically addressed, was he? Still, he offered a barely audible "Good day," and moved aside slightly, as if worrying he might be getting in the way. Then he just hung there, frozen in the air, looking at the newcomer with a strangely unnerved expression.
Kojak could've lived with the lack of response, he hadn't really be calling out for anybody to respond. More of a 'is anybody here' hello than anything else. The response was enough to prove there was.
Except the expression on the other's face, once he moved towards the board and could properly see it caught him off guard. His tail swished a bit, side to side, once he was at the board. "Good day to you too," he offered, charming grin in place as usual. Why did he look like that?
The elder feien looked at Kojak a moment more before turning away and dropping down to the counter to mess with the papers. Apparently, nothing came to Simon's mind with regards to actual conversation. He hoped he might just be able to give this stranger the slip, that his apparent business would exclude him from any sort of conversational obligations. So he separated out the pages of the new notices with great abandon, throwing himself into the task wholeheartedly.
Curiousity was a vague concept to Kojak, one that he merely followed whenever it popped up, but when he was being ignored in favor of somebody doing their work -- well, that was understandable.
Instead, he shrugged his shoulders slightly, moved out of the way, and merely watched the process for a few seconds. It was sort of odd to run into another feien who didn't just talk
Simon could only shuffle papers on the counter for so long. eventually he had to return to the notice board, where he began removing pushpins attaching notices already posted. He was careful not to look in Kojak's direction.
... now this just reminded Kojak of the times whenever Wren was avoiding something. Then again, he wasn't use to being the one avoided. Interesting, that. Shaking his head, tail curling around his leg loosely, he moved forward slowly to the notice board. ( If he moved too quickly, would Simon give him that nervous look again? )
"Would you like some help with that?" he offered. It was probably the only way he'd get a response out of the elder feien anyway. If any at all.
Simon startled so easily he dropped the pin he had just extracted. A sheet of paper about genetics went fluttering to the floor, freed from its boardly confines. "Dah-uh no!" he said, backing up so his wings were pressed against the exposed cork. "I-I've got it!" Though he hadn't really got anything, as he had just dropped both the pin and the paper.
Okay, avoids looking, startles easily -- shy? Was that it? Something else Kojak was reminded of, but filed away as he leaned over to grab the pin before it could completely roll away.
"Then I'm in the way, I guess." Though Simon didn't look like he had a complete hand on what he was doing. "Though if you do need help, I can," he replied smoothly, with an easy going small smile. Like trying to get near to something that was likely to bolt at first sign of danger, that's what this was. Kojak carefully held out the pin for Simon.
Simon took the pin rather daintily and deposited it on the nearby counter, acutely aware that he was a rather startling shade of crimson. "No, thank you," he said at first, almost turning away again, but suddenly he stopped and looked over at Kojak. "Actually, I suppose it really does depend, if it's not too much trouble?"
It was helpful that Kojak could act as if he was ignoring the blush all together. If, perhaps, it was in the past, he might've been intrigued, but instead it was pushed aside.
"It's no trouble," he replied, honestly, only shifting his stance a little after the pin was taken from him.
"I'm trying to make more space on the board," explained Simon. "I have to post these new notices. I already took down the old ones, but the new notices are bigger than previous, so I'm trying to clear more space." He sounded a little desperate as he spoke, though it could just as easily be fear.
Kojak looked at Simon for a moment, nodded his head, and then looked at the board. Ignore the desperate voice, just listen to words, probably not that much fear. Did he not deal with others regularly?
"How many new notices? Seven?" he asked, head tilting to one side to get a glance at the papers laid out. They did look big. "So take down what's not needed, information wise, and move the older notices around so that space is opened." All most like a puzzle, well, putting new notices on the board and making sure they fit in with the rest of the notices. Kojak paused, giving Simon a smile. "Or you could tell me what you have in mind, and I'll help with that."
"Three changes," said Simon, clearing his throat. He pointed to a space currently occupied by the genetics information. "If these papers are moved downwards so the tops are secured to the oard and the bottoms trailing, there should be enough room for the updated contact information above."
Well, that was certainly a change. Apparently when the nervous feien knew what he was talking about, he lost all trace of uncertainty.
Interesting. It was a good change though. Kojak found himself nodding his head again, in agreement, tail loosening and swishing once more. "All right," he said slowly, eyes moving towards the paper that had fallen. "That one just needs to be put in the new position and the others moved."
Which meant setting about and doing just that. Couldn't be that hard.
"Um, yes," said Simon, suddenly reduced again to helplessness. He blinked at Kojak and went about making the necessary changes to the board, much as he had been doing prior to Kojak's arrival.
Well, at least he wasn't getting the wide-eyed nervous look anymore. ... not that much, he hoped, but Kojak wasn't looking in Simon's direction. Instead, he was working out pulling out the pins of one piece of genetics information, then moving it downwards so that new information could be added above it. Once on the task, he was focused on getting it done properly.
The papers in the way were soon moved, which left the papers needing to be added. Unfortunately, they had been rolled into a tube for transport, and unrolling them was a bit more than Simon by himself could handle (though he put forth a good effort). Every time he managed to straighten out one side theother would roll back up.
It was the sort of moment when one should pause to ask for help. But Simon merely blushed and kept his head down; he wasn't quite sure how.
Settling back, Kojak peered at the board. Okay, that was completed. The genetics information was in place below and where was the other one with the new -- er.
"Maybe if both of us straighten the papers out?" he offered, watching and at least confident that that would work. Plus, well. Obviously this one wasn't the kind that was going to go 'Give me a hand here' or ask.
Simon just gave Kojak a sort of small nod and went about securing his side.
Kojak moved forward, securing the other side so that it would not roll back up instantly. As much as the paper probably wanted to.
The paper was finally flattened. "Now we just need to get it on the board," said Simon, raising into the air. "Could you please get the pins?"
"On it," Kojak replied, leaving the paper and moving to the counter to pick up the pins. Seven of them, right? Right. He carefully carried picked them up, not too keen about stabbed by one. "Just say when you need one and I'll pass it along."
"Now would be good," mumbled Simon, pressing the sheet flat against the board.
Well, no, passing it along wouldn't work. Not if Simon was holding the paper against the board. Instead, Kojak raised himself up in the air and pressed the pin to hold the paper in place. "Next," he called.
aquaphina quietly flew into the room and landed by the bulliten board.... watching the two working out thier notice troubles. "Needahand?"
It took a few more minutes, but the notices were posted. Simon took an aerial step back to admire the modifications. Everything was in place now. He could leave.
... So why was he sitll just standing there?
Now there was a familiar voice. "Aquaphina!" greeted Simon, relieved to see someone he knew. Then a moment later he remembered what had happened the LAST time and about died on the spot, suddenly frozen in place with his mouth open and his eyes staring at some spot over Aquaphina's head.
aqua smiled slightly as someone actually remembered her. she nodded to the unknown feien and looked back at Simon "sohowismyfaveriotfeien" she blushed and winked at Simon "I think im readyto makeanartifact...." the nervousnes of being around Simon made her start to loose concentration... her words were seeming....normal
Adults. That's all Kojak could think. ADULTS. Then again, they all had their quirks, but it was nice to know that apparently whomever he had been working with did no somebody and react well ...
... and disregard that.
Kojak landed back on the ground, only a backwards last glane to the board, before he shook his head slightly at Aquaphina, only a charming smile given to her. Another miniature tornado it looked like.
Simon couldn't manage to form words, it seemed. He stood there, gaping like a fish, trying to come up with -something- to get out of this situation. "I left, ah, the boiler--"
aquaphina blushed and giggled "the boiler can wait Simon" she cooed lightly and winked at him "i have something for you-" she slowly came forword with a gift- a koi with a note attached she kissed his cheek and smiled

Simon sputtered and leapt back in the air as fast as he was able. "What do you think you're doing!?" he demanded, turning almost completely pink. He started to reach up a hand to his cheek but stopped, too shocked to even touch the spot.
Kojak blinked, and then blinked again. He actually took a step, or several, back from the pair of adults. Particularly since one had such a wide wing span.
Never mind the color of that ... fish. But, well. Okay. They were friends, possibly more than that and -- right. He'd just go read the new notices and then try and vacate the premises.
Though seeing how this was going to go was worth staying to see for now.
"its a gift.... you usually give gifts when you either like that person enough to give them something- or birthdays" she smiled- axeonos's books were useful- more than just places to sit. aqua smiled and blew a kiss to simon and winked as she stood up- "see ya 'round cute feien" she giggled and turned slightly "by the way- your still cute!" she giggled to herself and waved to the other feien...
Somehow, Simon mustered up enough courage to prevent himself from melting into a puddle of goo on the hardwood floor. Unfortunately he could do little else. He sank down towards the counter and was surprised when he felt the cool of the glass surface against his feet. It was suprising to feel anything solid under his feet, really. He stared after Aquaphina with a mixture of horror and terror.
Kojak just sorted of stared, obviously. It wasn't like him at all, but it just couldn't be helped at all. He found himself giving Aquaphina a small wave since it looked like she was leaving, a curious glance to see if Simon was doing fine.
Since he had been so skittish before, and, well. He just slinked over slowly to Simon.
"Excuse me a moment," said Simon at last, motioning for Kojak to wait where he was. The bespectacled feien went drifting off in the direction of the bathroom.
with that aquaphina flew out- smiling to herself
"... all right," Kojak replied, stopping and shaking his head as Simon drifted off, eyes going to watching the door as Aquaphina left. That was certainly something else.
Well, as the snowstorm finally had decided to end, Ryuusei found herself able to make her way to she shop. At least, it was getting warmer...
Entering the shop as per habit by the window, the yellow feien glanced inside to see if there was anyone inside.
Kojak was, for once, actually reading the information on feien genetics on the message board. Though his eyes glanced up to the new information, he was mainly interested in the genetics. After all, most of the old news he was aware of, but this he had passed over -- and, oh, look, another feien!
... except wasn't Simon still in the bathroom? Did he fall in?
When she spotted the other feien, Ryuu finally fluttered inside, torward the noticeboard as well, landing beside him and glancing.
"Anything new on there ?" She asked, smilling, visibely trying to start a conversation.
Well, right. Back on the path of talking. "The posts above the genetics information are new, they were just added a little while ago." By himself and Simon, but -- hey. He hadn't caught Simon's name yet. Go figure.
Kojak turned to smile at Ryuu, that ohsocharming smile in place. "Otherwise, nothing new. Old stuff was taken down too."
"Really ? Hm... better check it out then, ne ?" She flicked a braid away from her face, then extended her hand. "Im Ryuusei. I don't think I saw you before... Might I know your name ?"
"Probably." Since there had been changes going on around the shop. It was what happened when you didn't visit for a while. At least, that was his thought on it. "No, I don't think we've met before. I'm good with remembering faces." Confidence was all ways there, plus that charming smile. "I'm Kojak. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ryuusei."
She withdrew her hand when she figured he wouldn't shake it, and peered up again. "I don't come around a whole lot, so its not surprising. Stupid winter." The feien made a face at that word. "At least its starting to melt."
"I wasn't around so much last month, myself," he said, shifting on his feet to look up at the notices. His tail swayed a little, slowly, as if mimicking the rate his thoughts were going at for the moment. It was a slow day. He gave Ryuu a small glance, raising an eyebrow. "Don't like winter?" For him, honestly, he couldn't care about it either way. Though the fact it was like melted slush wasn't too pleasant when one landed in it.
"The air's too cold. It doesn't feel good." She answered, only noticing the tail when it did begin to move. Well, that was a new one for her. A feien with a tail ? But hey, she had two colored hairs, so she couldn't really talk. He did as well, too...
"My bond told me that its warmer in summer, so I think ill'd like that better."
"It was cold when I arrived, so I suppose I'm use to it. I keep warm though." Kojak paused, head tilting back a little so he could look at Ryuusei. She did have unusual hair, compaired to the other feiens. Kind of like himself. "It's spring now, that's what Wren -- my bonded -- told me. There will be more rain, before the real summer warmth comes or something like that. Won't be so bad to be outside more then."
Silva stalked into the shop, scowling slightly. Dammit, he had thought he had everything he needed. How the hell was he to know that there were as many big east mountains as there were? He lived in Gaia, for crying out loud.
He looked around, dismissing the juveniles in the shop. They wouldn't know where Kalin was. Hell, HE didn't know and he was an adult. He would have to hunt down Yanvir again...
Dammit.
After a second Silva headed for the tunnel yet again. Maybe the little psycho had a map or something...
As she stepped into the shop, Sunil was not in quite so good of a mood this time as she had been previously. Something about how blue the sky was had pissed her off. Or maybe it was how happy everyone at home was. Who knew? Really, who cared?
"Feel free to come out and admire me!" Sunil said loudly, posing near the doorway with her hands on her hips. Scowling into the silence that followed she added a slightly louder, "Anybody?"
"Yeah, it won't. Maybe Zero will buy me that portable videogame thing, and ill be able to play outside." She said, joy unhidden.
Simon emerged from the bathroom feeling much refreshed. He'd taken his time in there, filling up the sink with warm water and then just soaking in it for an hour. It was probably a gross abuse of ownership privileges, not to mention questionable use of resources, but Simon did not care about that right now.
Unfortunately he had the poor luck to walk out of the bathroom at the moment Sunil was demanding worshipers. Toweling himself off with a square of (clean!) toilet paper, he drifted over in her direction. Not because he wanted to. Mostly because he wasn't really paying enough attention.
However, then there was a wide demand for admiration.
...Wtf now ?
Ryuu blinked, and sent her tiny braids shattering on her shoulders as she turned to look torward the rest of the shop, to see the source of the noise.
Frustrated at the lack of enthusiasm for her suggestion, Sunil looked about for vict- err... people to talk to. Spotting an adult feien who looked familiar and a little bit odd, she gravitated trowards him.
Getting close she paused, making a show of look at his glasses.
"Hello four eyes. You look familiar. Who are you?"
And, of course, time passed. And more time passed. And eventually Kojak had to go, because, well, he needed too. ( And obviously Simon occupied the one bathroom he knew about, wait. No, that like that. Try again. Though he would need to get the other's name. ) "It was good to meet you, Ryuu --" he sort of trailed off at the sight of both Simon coming out of the bathroom and Sunil coming into the shop.
... wait, what? He shook his head. "It's good to meet you, Ryuusei, but I've realy got to be going." He gave her that charming smile of his and shoved off the counter, giving her a last wave.
Though, was it really okay to leave the skittish one over there alone with the loud one? He really, really needed to get some names.

// Compiled Shop RP Log // ( 22.03.05 ; RP; ... takes place in the shop. ) Sunil ( kamtrouble ) Kojak ( azuredreams ) Aleksander ( Sevviekun ) Well, s**t. It had been a while since she had come into the shop and now that she finally had, no one was here. How the hell was she supposed to have her fun if there was no one to have it on?
Sunil halted in the middle of the floor with her face screwed up in her usual scowl, placing her hands on her hips in a posture she had found intimidated the pixapets. Not that they were the sort of prey she enjoyed, but beggars couldn't be choosers or however that stupid saying went.
She took a hand off one hip to run it irritably through her hair, flipping it out from in front of her eye. What to do? With no one here she was suddenly at a loss. Hissing to herself, she took to the air. If she couldn't pick on people maybe she could find a way to make a mess in the shop.
There was something unsettling about being at home for the moment, something in general about the place that Kojak couldn't stand. Thankfully, it had nothing to do with the fact the new children were interested in seeing if they could catch him and tug on his wings.
... not that it had happen, but from the gleam in the fox-child's eye he thought it was being considered. ( And if it came to that, he'd do something first before he got nailed. ) Making his way into the shop, he came to a halt on the floor right past the door. It was good to get somewhere and be alone, considering there was hardly any chance for that where he had been.
Though, perhaps he should talk to Valsharess more than he did, but ... well. Sometimes, it wasn't worth trying to figure out just what females wanted. Sheesh. Head held high, he raised himself back up in the air and headed towards the message board to see if there was any news of late. It had been a while, after all, and for the moment -- if there was anybody around -- he didn't seem to care.
Ah ha. Prey. A particularly funny looking specimen too.
Sunil cackled with glee and rubbed her rough hands together, before gliding her way over to the message board. Failing to slow her momentum, she put herself on a course to body slam the poor newcomer right into the board if he didn't notice and move. If he did, she was in a bit of a spot. It was just her sort of game.
Aleksander entered the shop, riding atop Cosnaidis's head. Sevvie had been most reluctant to let him leave the house with just the cat for company, but after Nai had put forth the point that a cat was much bigger than any feien, he wouldn't be in any trouble.
Besides, it wasn't like I could go anywhere alone, he thought with some chagrin. Sevvie had determined from the portions of the feien magic book he'd copied that flight distance was based on magic strength - and apparently, Alek's was very low.
It was the cackling that really clued Kojak in. In fact, he had enough time to glance over his shoulder to see Sunil coming right for him before he tried to get out of the way.
Of course, it wasn't fast enough, because as he felt Sunil hit his arm and send him spinning towards the board anyway. He slid across the ground, bumping into it ( hard ), but had avoided getting completely body slammed.
"... just what are you doing?" he managed to grit out, dual colored eyes looking dazed for a moment.
Alek blinked slightly as he took in the scene taking place as he entered. What could they be fighting about, and if they weren't fighting, why did that blue feien just divebomb that other feien? Was this normal feien behaviour?? He held just slightly tighter onto Cosnaidis's fur.
Since she only knocked her intended victim slightly, Sunil still slammed into the board as well. Winded, but on a total adrenaline high, Sunil giggled as she hovered and held onto her ribs with a free hand.
Knowing she probably looked completely insane, and ok with that persona, she took a couple breaths to calm down before looking over to Kojak.
"Me? I thought you were some sort of large bumblebee. Those nasty little bastards are a nuisance, so I figured I was doing the shop a favor. Who knew there was a ridiculous looking feien like you around."
"I'm sorry, but a bumblebee?" Kojak pushed himself up with a hand, tail twitching for side to side slowly and somehow undamaged in the recent blow. He rubbed his hand against his back for a moment, thinking. This was one odd, odd female. He was seriously beginning to wonder about the sanity of those around here -- or maybe this one.
Wait a minute. She was the one he had seen earlier in the month, but he held his tongue on that. "Guess you don't know your bugs very well, because I'm not one. A little too big to be one." Kojak smiled, all too friendly and charming. Never let it be said that even injured, he had confidence in himself. "Besides, if you're going to call me ridiculous, take a look at yourself first." Miss I Look Way to Insane.
Alek wondered slightly if he should come back another time, but decided against it. He was here now, and dangit, he wasn't going to go home because there were weirdos in the shop. For all he knew, all feien could be either crazy or strange looking. Maybe he was one of the crazy ones then. Anyway. He decided to speak up on the reason he'd come in the first place.
"I don't mean to interrupt, but do either of you know of somebody who could help work with me on magic?" he called, hoping that Nai wasn't above swiping at Crazy Lady if she tried to divebomb him, too.
"Me?" Sunil questioned, looking herself up and down slowly in mock confusion. "Really? I thought curves like this were what men preferred."
God only knew where she got this s**t.
Raising her eyebrows, Sunil made a point of looking Kojak up and down next. She even started to circle around him in the air to get a better look at his tail.
"Stinger?" she asked. "I though you weren't a bug."
"Don't see any men trying to get at those curves right now," Kojak countered, standing up fully, and his tail twitching even more. His smile faded just a little into a smirk, eyes glinting.
It faltered only slightly when Sunil looked him over and he abruptly turned to face her as she commented on his tail. "Are you blind, sweets?" The last word said far too nicely. "It's a tail, not a stinger."
Biting his tongue, however, to stop other commentary, he turned to glance at the one asking about magic. "Ah," he started slowly, keeping a careful eye on Sunil, "I would suggest looking at the notices in regards to that or try posting your own notice about looking for someone." Kojak wasn't exactly strong when it came to magic, though he ... probably should start learning.
Glancing to the new stranger for the first time, Sunil couldn't help but smirk.
"Magic, huh?" she said, actually trying not to scowl for once as she put her hands back into their usual spots on her hips. "I actually am quite good at magic and I might be willing to share. Depends on what you're willing to offer in exchange. Nothing is free. Especially not knowledge."
She decided to ignore the bumblebee. He wasn't as much fun as one might hope for, much to snippity. She'd love to teach him a lesson, but she had to keep in mind she didn't have the same skills she had once had.
"Really?" Alek said, brightening a bit. "Do you know your element?" He wondered nervously if she'd rather he come to her - crazy or not, he was the juvenile after all. Cosnaidis purred slightly in reassurance.
"Brace yourself, little one," she warned, then leapt up to the counter near the other feien so Alek didn't have to fly. He scratched behind her ears in gratitude.
"Of course," Sunil said condescendingly. "It isn't difficult to figure out."
She sniffed a little, giving the cat the eye. She didn't trust cats. Always getting into secret spots and telling on her. Stupid animals. Or rather, too smart for Sunil's liking.
"You just have to find your affinity. Find a spot that makes you feel more alive, more at ease. Figure out what it has that other places do not."
She halted and gave Kojak a sidelong glance. She had been more open that she preferred, perhaps ruining the impression she had made earlier. Damn.
Alek paused to think about that one. "It's a bit harder for me, for some reason," he confessed. "I... I like being around plants, and I know my father was a plant type... but I don't seem to have any real affinity for them. I like being around Cosnaidis, but then she's my friend... I really don't know what I am.." He flushed slightly, unsure if that made him sound stupid.
Kojak merely raised an eyebrow, an amused smile on his face now. Apparently Sunil wasn't as mean and nasty as she had been. Which meant she wasn't all the time, but ... well. She did have that air of trouble about her.
He took a step back as the other juvenile came up with the cat and offered a charming smile and wave in greeting, before turning his attention back to Sunil. "And here I was thinking you were nothing but trouble, and you're helping someone out," the words were quietly spoken, but loud enough Sunil would hear them.
"I feel bad for the moron." Sunil said to Kojak, wrapping her arms across her chest and sticking out her hip in a posture that quite clearly conveyed how bored she was with the whole situation. "The dumber you are, the easier it is to pick on you and consequently it isn't as much fun."
Sunil curled her lip, now concentrating again on the juvenile below her. She had no idea what his element was, but there weren't that many options unless he was something totally new.
"There is a list of elements," she said grudgingly. "You could look for something that sounded like it might bridge plants and animals."
She was supposed to be part of some damn magic class, might as well get used to being more helpful than usual. But not to people she liked. They could damn well learn on their own.
"You though," she snapped, pointing at the bumblebee. "I'm not helping you!"
Alek stiffened and was about to protest that he was not a moron - then realized how childish that would sound. May as well stomp your feet and throw a tantrum, he thought wryly. "Thank you, Miss...?" he started, then trailed off as he realized he didn't know either of their names. He coughed slightly. "I'm sorry, I don't know either of your names," he apologized. "And I completely forgot to introduce myself. I'm Aleksander."
"Can't be helped," Kojak replied, faintly amused, "besides, if someone is too intelligent, I'm sure that takes fun out of it as well. Just have to find that perfect person who reacts just the way you want them to." Even worse, he was thinking about how to pick on somebody, but ... well. It was merely a logical thought.
Rolling his eyes, tail flicking about some, Kojak just snorted. "I didn't ask for your help, sweets. Keep it for yourelf or help out this -- ah, Aleksander bloke." He shifted on his feet, turning to face the other juvenile with a friendly charming smile. It was the kind of smile that made you instantly like somebody.
"I'm Kojak, it's nice to meet you."
"Didn't ask, but probably need it desperately." Sunil said smugly, her amusement having faded - but her arrogance going strong. "And I'm Sunil."
She resisted the urge to add, "I'm sure you've heard of me." since they were both juveniles and it was possible they had not. Poor souls.
Alek inclined his upper torso in a sort of sitting bow. "Pleased to meet both of you," he said. "I think I'll take your advice now, Miss Sunil." Patting Cosnaidis to let her know he'd be all right, he flew over to the list. Fortunately for him, his wings were of the bat-type, not cloth, so he could rely a little more on his physical strength to get there rather than his magic. He stood there and examined the list.
"I don't need anything desperately. It is possible to learn on your own, after all." Kojak spoke back, smirking. And he was intelligent enough to do so, at least that was his thoughts. His confidence, his pride, could get him where he needed to go.
"Ah, Sunil. I've seen you before, but I didn't get your name then." ... and hopefully they weren't scaring off the new juvenile, but then again, he was all ready off and looking at the list.
"You might learn on your own, you might not." Sunil said, sighing a little and looking at her side where she had hit the board the hardest. "There are all those saying about teamwork and two heads and s**t, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that. I'd work on your reflexes though."
She looked up and favored him with a serious look, wondering what to make of his comment.
"You should also make it a habit to learn what you can about other feien. How useful they might be. How dangerous they are."
What was this, Sunil gives out advice day? s**t. She scowled at him to save face a litle. She as getting senile in her old age or something.
After a minute or two of mumbling to himself and trying to work with what Sunil had said and what he had felt, he snapped his fingers. "I think I've got it," he said, flitting back to the other two. "The only two that seemed to match at all were Life and Respiration. I tried holding my breath, but I don't think I held it any longer than the average feien, so by process of elimination I have to be Life." He grinned triumphantly, pleased by this small success.
"Hmm. Well, I've got an idea." Kojak smiled, widely, and he raised himself up in the air so that he could be eye to eye with Sunil. "Your advice is pretty good, but how about instead of saying I wanted help with magic from you, I ask that you help me with my reflexes."
He didn't even seemed phased by Sunil's scowl, though the words of advice she offered were carefully filed away.
"Congratulations on that, Aleksander." Kojak gave him a small grin, twisting about and turning in the air to face him. "Life's an interesting element."
She snorted in disgust, making her opinion of the revelation clear. She was not impressed. And as for the other one, the one with spunk...
"Maybe," she said, looking at Kojak. "But I don't have time right now. I'm too busy tonight, but maybe I can squeeze you in some other time. Depends. Nothing for free, remember? Have to think about what you can offer me."
And with that Sunil buzzed her way to the door at top speed. She liked getting in the last word whenever possible. Even if it meant bolting out and pretending not to hear people.
Aleksander startled as Sunil zipped out the door. He sighed. It was probably better not to learn magic from a crazy lady anyway, even if she had helped him figure out his own element. Cosnaidis stretched, and glanced meaningfully at the clock. Aleksander paused to look, then sighed. "Kojak, I'd love to stay and talk with you further and get to know you as a friend," he dropped his voice to slightly above a whisper, "especially as Sunil is gone now," and raised it back to normal again. "But sadly I promised my bond I wouldn't stay out too late and it is approaching 'too late' far too quickly. It was definitely nice meeting you though, and I look forward to meeting again." He looked about, then borrowed one of the quills from the display and a bowl of paint, tearing a blank corner off one of the notices to write on and scribbled down the Life section of the Feien magic book before perching on Cosnaidis's back again. "See you around!" he called, waving as the cat padded out the door.
Kojak rolled his eyes at Sunil. Couldn't she say anything positive -- but she was the mean sort it appeared and probably had used up her nice points all ready for the evening.
"There's all ways favors," Kojak murmured, remembering something he had talked about once. "But I remember that, nothing for free. We'll see when I catch up with you again." Of course, it was questionable if she heard everything, and he only rolled his eyes once more before waving at her departing figure.
His attention went back to Aleksander as he talked, and he nodded his head slightly. Of course, it all ways helped to know another feien, have another friend. "Ah, I can understand that. Don't want to stay out too late, before the bond comes looking for you." Kojak chuckled, knowing Wren would do the same to him, if he didn't know Kojak wouldn't be back sooner rather than later. "See you around then," he called out as the other juvenile was leaving. "Maybe we'll run into each other again." The last bit was murmured and he lifted himself back up in the air to expect the boards as he had meant to before heading out go home as well.
