If you had asked me up untill a year ago i would have told you that any good cat was a dead cat. I live out in the bush, the Otway National Forrest to be exact, and fereal cats are a serious problem out here, not counting the fox's, deer and the occasional wild pig. When i go fox shooting to get a feral cat is like a total bonus as we dont shoot for plesure, but to keep my cousins lambs safe during lambing season.
However a year ago a came to live with a girl my age who had the fattest, cuddliest most lazy cat ive ever met. Her excuse of keeping him in such condition was that he was far to overfed to ever pose a threat to the enviroment. She was right, that cat could never have caught a cold let alone a wild bird, possum or platupus.
I started to change my mind about them, and since then have 4 months ago went the the pound and got my own cat. A boy i named Jiminy Kricket. He stays indoors, and when i think hes fat enough will be allowed to roam outdoors. Heh. Dont get me wrong im not talking about obesity here, just fat enough that their instict to hunt for food is diminished. I spoke to my local vet about the cruelty of it beforehand, aparently overfeeding cats is quite common. lolz.
When i got Kricket at 8 weeks old
