When I saw Stephenie back in May she said it was a planned trilogy if she was going to finish the series. However she also said she had both epilogues and prologues written.
The reason for the "finishing" of the series was going to happen after she finished the Twilight Saga, but there was more than just the rest of the Host series she was planning on working on.
