T i f a [ ]Well, I feel obligated to like The Cadets and Phantom Regiment. My high school's drill writer is part of the staff for Phantom Regiment and The Cadets came to my high school for 2-3 years (They needed somewhere to stay a few days before Drums Along the Rockies) and we were allowed to go watch them practice. It was quite an experience. The Cadets won't be participating in Drums Along the Rockies this year, so Phantom Regiment will be staying at the school instead. Even though I'm a graduate now, I plan to go watch them. Nothing beats watching a drum corp live for free, even if they aren't in uniform and are just rehearsing. xd
The local Division I drum corp is Blue Knights. Since there's only one for my state, that's reason enough to like them. And they don't suck or anything, so that's a plus.
I also have a softspot for Santa Clara Vanguard and Blue Devils, since they're corps from my birth state. I lovelovelove Phantom Its gonna be hard deciding whether to see them or the Blue Devils when they come to ohio, theyre both on the same day, the blue devils are an hour away and phantom is 2; decisions decisions I wanna march phantom some day, love their uniforms ^.^

My assistant band director works with south wind on drill, and some current students and old start there, so we support them, we have a few else where, in the cadets, and blue devils, and others. we have an amazing High School band.

I'm hoping to make it this year, sordakindamaybe

I think all Drum Corps are amazing. Maybe I'm just in awe, but I think they all have lots of talent. I don't know how to choose a favorite. If I don't drop marching band, I'll be going to a DCI performance in two weeks with the band. Maybe then I'll be able to pick out the corp I like the most? ;P

My favorite corp is the Phantom Regiment. Especially this year, I'm in love with their drum majors!
Other corps that I like are CAROLINA CROWN (they are awesome this year), SCV, Mandarins, and Bluecoats.
The corp that i'm sort of disappointed at is The Cadets (talking again).
I've loving the Cavies show, even though i'm not the greatest fan. Samurai!
Back to Phantom --> I would LOVE to march with them, but I don't live anywhere near IL. So, next year i'm going to march with the Mandarins, and maybe, after some time, I'll audition for SCV.
(Something that has always boggled my mind: Some corps have a height limit-type-thing. So, if I'm too short, I wouldn't be able to do it?)
I bought a ticket to DCI West, but had to go to LA because of family emergencies. I cried.

I'm auditioning for the Blue Knights this year! 3nodding
I love them. heart
But really, honestly, Carolina Crown completely owned everyone with their show, "Triple Crown", last year. My dad and I think they should've got higher scores. Although BD's show was damn near unbeatable. "Winged Victory"...Hell yeah, 12 World Championships...Jeez.
Anyway...I'm going to DCI at the Alamodome on Saturday. We got upper-deck, 50 yardline seats! FTW.
I'm so psyched.

Hey. I am a member of the Oregon Crusaders this season...we are just wrapping up a week off after 2 and a half weeks of all days, but we start another week of all days tomorrow. Northwest drum corps are a little behind tour wise. sweatdrop
my fav corps is Phantom! definately! but it sucks bein so far away from any div 1 corps up in Oregon....closest being like SCV and Blue Devs.
I hate to say musicaloner, but I am very very anti Cavies. :/

For a minute there, I was wondering how you had any time to check Gaia if you were doing alldays! A good number of my friends march corps and they never have ANY time to talk or check email or anything...Except when they're on tour and resting on the bus...And even then, they're usually trying to get some sleep. ^^ I made it into Revolution this year, but I couldn't march for health reasons...I was so disappointed. cry

Hmmmm, I can't pick a favorite... Blue Devils? Carolina Crown? Cadets had a crazy cool show last year. biggrin
on the 21st our BD is taking the section leaders (including me! whee ) to watch some corps practice and then go watch their show! I love watching them, they're amazing.
I kinda wish I played something that is actually in Drum Corps, haha xd

I can't pick a favourite, myself... I love the Phantom Regiment. (Their Faust show last year was awesome XD) And there was the one band with the Alice in Wonderland last year...but I can't remember which one.
I'm going to see the DCI show in the theaters on the 7th. And my friend lives in the town where they're performing. (Bloomington!)
Excitement! xd

In regards to my previous post... I've picked a favorite, I just came back from their show and it was AMAZING. Epic. I loved it. Like I always do. 3nodding
But my new favorite has got to be Madison Scouts. Their show was breathtaking, I can't believe they came in fourth! :/
But, gosh, they're all so amazing. We watched the Cadets practice, but their performance was SO incredible, too.
I love watching DCI, all the corps are such great performers. heart
